After a lot of sleepless nights
and painful mornings associated with my back and neck pains, I've
been doing a lot of research to find the best ergonomic chair for me and my body.
Resolving back pain is no simple task though, ergonomics is only
part of it. The rest is getting yourself to exercise, stretch,
eat right, and just generally LIVE healthy.
However, even with all that, the right ergonomic chair is a necessary component as without it, your chair will actually be inducing harm. Finding an ergo chair that fits your unique body can be a challenge but with some careful planning, a lot of research, and a reasonable amount of free time, you should be able to find that metaphorical needle in the haystack. To put you on the right path, check out Elite Ergonomic Chairs (www.ELITE-ERGONOMIC-CHAIRS.com) for expert reviews on ergonomic furniture. Most of my information actually comes from them, I've read quite a bit about ergonomics and how it pertains to office furniture just by reading through their ridiculous amount of information. One of the chairs I've been looking at recently, thinking about picking it up for the wife, is the Celle by Herman Miller 'cause it looks mega comfortable. Anyways, I'm going to cut my ramblings short today 'cause I need to go for a jog - part of the process I've created to facilitate the rehabilitation of my back. Oh, which reminds me! Here's some good tips on finding the best ergonomic chairs for back pain. Take care until next time and best of luck in your quest to find the best ergonomic chairs in the world.
Let me start of by saying that when I first discovered I
would need a new ergonomic drafting chair I was upset. My
previous chair was an office star deluxe air that I had for a
total of four years before it kicked the bucket. It was an
ordinary day like any other, I came into the office with my
favorite UNIX coffee mug and croissant in hand and plopped down
in the chair only to hear a terrifying cracking noise. My fat
behind had snapped and broke the pneumatic mechanism that
prevents the chair from tilting back to far. I promptly fell
straight back on my head and the chair toppled on top of me just
as fast.
After the getting over the shock of what had just happened, I
realized that I would need to purchase a new office chair, and I would need to do it quickly.
Where do you think I turned? To the cloud! No, seriously I first
went on Google and started putting in work researching what I
would need. I knew I would need a couple of things:
1) The chair would need to be able to support my ever increasing
weight. I currently weight a little over 350 pounds give or take
a pound or two. Yes I have a problem with food but that is for
another blog post all together.
2) The chair would need to be ergonomic in design and force me to
keep a healthy posture for prolonged periods of time. I do work
up to ten hours a day and that is just "work". I also have a
pretty healthy addition to online gaming and chat rooms, and when
I say "healthy" I mean completely unhealthy.
3) It couldn't be a cheap office chair at all. Now when I say cheap I
am referring to quality, and while I wouldn't consider the Office
Star Deluxe to be a cheap chair (I picked mine up for $190 on
sale back in 2010) it obviously wasn't made to hold a man of my
stature.
With these guidelines in hand I thoroughly perused every ergonomic
chair review site that I could find, vigorously making note
of those that matched my particular criteria. In the end I
settled on the Mirra Chair by Herman Miller. I chose this
particular chair because A) it met all my requirements without a
hitch and B) it was far less expensive then its cousin, the
Aeron chair. For those of you who know
anything about office chairs, the Aeron is the granddaddy of them; it would be
considered the Bentley of office chairs if that makes sense.
Since I was in a hurry I ended up getting it on Amazon and used
my prime account to get it in two days. Talk about a life saver,
if you don't have a prime account you need to get one pronto, it
gives free two day shipping on all items carried by Amazon.
Now I am writing this brief article from my new comfy Mirra and I couldn't be happier. My back feels
great, I feel safe and confident that this chair wont bust, and
my chiropractor said my posture is improving. I give full credit
to the chair. If you are in need of an awesome Ergonomic Drafting chair, then look no further
than the Mirra, you won't be disappointed.
