I've made. The sound quality is better than my ibuds that came with
the ipod, and I love not having a wire connecting me to my ipod.
The initial pairing to my ipod and palm treo 800 was very easy and
it works well for the most part. The only fault I have noticed is
the transitioning after completing a call the headset sometimes
doesn't transition back to the ipod without me unplugging and
replugging the transceiver back into the ipod. This doesn't happen
all the time, but I have noticed this happen more than once and
I've own this headset for only about a week-I'm not sure if this is
the headset or if it is my dumb phone, probably the phone as I have
had numerous problems with the treo 800w. The headphones are very
comfortable and the remote on the headset works great. You can
pause, play, search, skip all from the headset- no problems with
that. The range on the headset is about 15 feet depending on where
you're at and the amount of interference in the area. The battery
life is something that I haven't tested, but the manual suggests
that it is 16 hours, but I highly doubt that. Everyone will have
you believe that their product runs for double what it is capable
of-the people at apple would like you to believe their ipods video
will play for 6 hours, but in actuality it will run 3 1/2 to 4
hours on a full charge. But, overall the headset is great. I'm
trying to figure out if I can pair it to my computer, so I can talk
on skype. I'll have to tinker with it some more.

Panasonic 3.1 home theater system very well. However, volume level
of the unit is disappointing as is the sound quality of the
speakers. I had hoped to use this device on my patio to replace my
old boom box CD player. At full blast, the volume is barely
adequate for the patio and my old boom box has much better sound
quality. The absence of bass is very noticeable on the wireless
unit. Too bad Panasonic couldn't have coupled the good wireless
transmitter/receiver of this unit with a decent set of speakers.
I'll likely wind up using this unit as a rear speaker set up for
the 3.1 home theater system since the bass response doesn't matter
that much for that use.

(More customer

network cabling around my entire home. I tried the wireless route,
and did not find the technology quite there yet for VoIP, Online
Gaming and HD Streaming. When I stumbled upon the new PowerLine HD
products. While this technology has been around for a while, this
was the first time it looked mature enough to be "acceptable" in my
network. After a little research I settled on the NetGear
HDX101's.
This product has performed marvelously. I am using them to bridge
various local LANs (PC/Gaming, 360/Entertainment Center)I have in
my home to the broadband router. At each HDX101 I am getting at
least 100Mbs tx and rx. I then use a switch for each local network
to connect all of the networked devices at that location. VoIP,
online gaming and normal web surfing all going on at the same time
worked great. Streaming media to the 360 from the PC, flawless.
I heartily recommend this product to anyone who wants a fast
network and doesn't want to bother running cable through the
house.

Ethernet Adapter
The NETGEAR HDX101 Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter turns any
electrical power outlet into a network connection. If you're
looking for a fast, easy way to provide Ethernet connectivity to
just about any device in your home, then this handy adapter is an
excellent solution. The HDX101 gives you the bandwidth you need for
high-quality video streaming, gaming, and VoIP (Voice Over Internet
Protocol), without the headaches of running expensive Ethernet
cables all over your home. With simple plug-and-play installation,
this device turns any electrical outlet into a network connection.
This compact, handy device delivers up to 200 Mbps to any outlet,
and with no software required, you'll be ready to network your home
right out of the box.
This is an ideal solution for connecting PCs, game consoles,
digital media adapters such as NETGEAR's EVA8000, or a Skype
cordless phone such as NETGEAR's SPH200D to your home network.
Here's how it works: plug one HDX101 into your router and a nearby
electrical socket, then plug a second HDX101 into any electrical
socket that is conveniently located near the device you want to
network. Each HDX101 has a built-in Quality of Service (QoS) that
enables smooth streaming, awesome gaming performance, and
uninterrupted VoIP telephone calls. The bottom line is, you get a
powerful, seamless home network that runs on your existing
wiring.
Please note that this product comes with only one HDX101 adapter.
You'll need to buy at least two adapters to start your network, or
you can purchase the NETGEAR HDXB101 Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter
Kit which comes equipped with two HDX101 adapters. The Powerline HD
Ethernet Adapter makes it a breeze to transfer large files to a
network storage device, such as the NETGEAR Storage Central Turbo
SC101 or the ReadyNAS NV+ RND4250. It supports up to 16 HDX101
units on one home network; and it easily coexists with a host of
NETGEAR's HomePlug compatible products.
System requirements include a device for connection, e.g. an
available RJ-45 Ethernet port, and Microsoft Windows Vista, XP or
2000 to modify encryption and settings. Microsoft Vista drivers are
available at www.netgear.com/vista.
Note: Although the HDX101 may coexist with HomePlug 1.0 products,
it is not compatible or interoperable with NETGEAR's XE104,
XEPS103, XE103, XE102, or WGXB102 Powerline products.
In addition, this device can deliver up to 200 Mbps of throughput.
The actual data throughput will vary depending on network
conditions and environmental factors, such as network traffic
volume, building material and construction, and network
overhead.

Ethernet cable, installation guide, setup CD, warranty card, and

(More customer

tried a couple of different 900MHz headphones and was very
dissapointed in the static I would hear on them all of the time. I
discovered these when looking for a pair of digital ones on the
internet. These sound great and work throughout my entire house.
They would get 5 stars except for a couple of minor needed
improvements:
1. There is an occational clicking sound when walking around. If
you are not moving, you don't hear any clicking. It isn't a big
deal and doesn't distract from the music or TV.
2. The headphones are a bit tight on my head, and I think I have a
normal size head.
3. The battery compartments are a little hard to open.
4. It is really hard to find a dealer that sells them.
Other than that, they are great. They have normal stereo RCA
connections, but also have an optical digital connection if your
receiver has optical out.
So, don't waste time with 900MHz, get these instead.

(More customer
reviews)First the limitations: You cannot get sound out
of both your desktop speakers and the A-250 at the same time, and
the wireless connection is only about 85% reliable, even within its
advertised range of 30 meters. Sound cuts out if there are too many
thick walls between the transmitter and the speakers. Also, other
electronics, microwaves, and my 2.5 GHz cordless telephones can
interfere with the signal to the A-250.
If you can tolerate these limitations, then you can consider the
great pleasures of the A-250:
-- Easy set-up. It honestly took me three minutes to get sound from
my XP system using RealPlayer to the A-250. You plug in the
transmitter to a USB port, press the blue button on top of the
transmitter for two seconds, put batteries into the speaker unit,
and then turn it on.
-- Very good sound. For a wireless system, the A-250 produces very
good, albeit not very loud, sound. When the signal is strong, the
sound is better than FM though not as good as wired, of course.
-- Simple controls. From the A-250 you can pause, play, skip a
track forwards or backwards, and control the volume.
-- Works with my Palm Zire71. Saitek includes a 3.5mm jack, which
when plugged into my Palm, played sound well through the A-250.
-- Fast support. I emailed Saitek regarding the limitations, and
someone wrote back within a day to tell me that the limitations are
not surmountable.
Summary: If you don't mind playing sound only out of the A-250 in a
different room with few walls between it and your system, and if
you don't mind imperfect sound, then the A-250 is for you. I will
keep mine, since I can tolerate these limitations and I love my
music on the deck and in the kitchen.

(More customer
reviews)I have been using these headphones recently with
my iPod touch running the new 3.0 software update, and I would have
to say that I am mostly happy with the results. The two pair up
really easy, I just leave the bluetooth on on the iPod and all I
have to do is press power on the headphones and then play once to
connect, and play once more to hear music. The range is fantastic,
I plug my iPod into the computer at work when the battery is low
and I can walk all over the mailroom floor with no interruptions.
One thing I do enjoy is the nice deep bass these provide. I am sort
of a bass junky though and others may find it a bit too much.
My complaints would have to be that 1.) I am not to fond of the
shape and size of them. The headband sits behind the cups and it
feels like they are always going to fall off your head, and they
are pretty big. 2.) Not all the functions work with the iPod Touch.
I can use play and pause, as well as volume adjustment. However I
can not skip songs. I believe this is an issue with the iPod
software/hardware rather than the the headphones though because
when I used them on an iPod nano and classic with the dongle they
worked great, and you could even navigate the menus and everything.
3.) Occasionally they will cut out and it sounds a bit like a CD
skipping but nothing so sever that I am upset by it. 4.) They are
hot. The leather(?) around the ear cups fits really well and keeps
the sound of my rather noisy job out, but they keep the heat in
just as well, and often I have to take them off because they simply
get too warm. Lastly I kind of wish they had a mic built in so I
could pair them with my phone, but this is not really a complaint
more than it is just a wish.
I hope this review was helpful and I do recommend these headphones
to anyone looking for a great set of bluetooth headphones. Thank
You.

wanted to place it on the opposite wall of the TV, this due to a
common wall where the TV is mounted. The sub fit real nice behind
by primary listening chairs and sounds great. No problems with the
wireless and it provides more than enough bass! The only thing that
would have made it better for my application is a remote (wireless)

(More customer
reviews)Sirius satellite should be considered a great
complement to your audio system, whether in home or car. It should
not be considered an end all to music selection. It will not
replace CDs, mp3s or typical over the air radio. Once this
expectation is established, it's good to see Sirius as a decent
addition to those who love music.
First off, how much does it cost? You'll need a receiver, then a
docking system for the home or office. Then there is a setup fee.
So you're looking at a little under $200 to get started. Quite a
huge investment for just checking out a new type of radio. I would
advise getting Sirius professional installed in your car, unless
you don't mind wire flaying around when you drive while looking at
a tacking do it yourself setup. Also, if you want both home and
office, you'll have to buy a boombox. This can run to about $350
total. Quite pricey, especially when it doesn't include any monthly
fees.
Secondly, how about the reception? It's surprisingly well in my
car, but does suffer some dark spots when you go under a tunnel or
when travelling through a tree line street. However, I was unable
to get any signal in neither my home nor my office, so don't
automatically assume that it will work at your home. The only
consolation is that if you sign up for Sirius, you get monthly web
access.
Thirdly, how about the playlist? The best way to describe Sirius's
playlist is probably a lot breadth, but not quite a lot of depth.
For music, unless you love every type of music available, you'll
actually only have about 10 music stations to listen to. For
example, all Classical, Latin, Electronic, Jazz, Children and Love
stations are absolutely useless to me as this not my type of music.
In terms of sports, it's got the NFL, NBA, and if ever, NHL. The
best game for radio, baseball, is with XM satellite, which is a
huge bummer. Many of the news stations and entertainment stations
are just audio replays of audio stations, so it's got commercials
and aren't altogether suited for radio. For example, you'll hear,
"take a look at this replay". Well, I can't look, it's radio. All
in all, the talk and music is the equivalent of doubling the FM and
AM radio stations of a big city. You'll still listen to your normal
stations, but the number of stations will be expanded.
Fourthly, how about the receiver itself? It's pretty good. The
display is huge. You get to see the band or song name before
switching to a different station. I love that. It can store 20
songs, which, when one of the songs comes up, the receiver will
beep and give you the option of changing to that station. The only
small problems were that sometimes the stored songs didn't come up,
and the turn wheel will lacks a grip, which is annoying when
driving.
Fifthly, what were some of the major problems of Satellite radio?
Besides the high cost for the equipment, the fact that they charge
an activation fee was annoying. I'm willing to pay a monthly fee,
do I need to add another fee to that? Secondly, the nickel and
diming continues with the fact that the receiver contains no basic
antenna nor power supply. You must buy a docking kit no matter
what. I bought a car docking kit, but it only had a power supply
for the cigarette lighter, which meant that all setup has to be
done outdoors, in the car, with the car running. I couldn't even
test it to see if it would work indoors, so I had to buy a boombox
to test, only to find out it didn't work, and then return the
boombox. A cheap home AC/DC power supply included in the docking
kit would have saved me hours without costing me fifty dollars for
the other docking system. Also, the customer service is not that
great. The people on phone are nice, but you have to endure the
navigation system along with a large self-serving tirade about how
well Sirius radio is before you can get to the menu. In order to
get stream player access, you have to e-mail them for the password,
but no one bothered to reply to my e-mail, so I had to call them
again. When the company won't give you the password for the free
web access, and won't reply when you follow the website
instructions, it gets annoying. Another thing is the repetitiveness
and limiting factors of the playlist. Some of the bands I'm
interested in, Carbon Leaf, the Streets, Perfect Circle, Tool -
groups that I thought should appear for paid radio, are not really
there. However, Ashlee Simpson, Maroon 5 and Leonard Skynard are
pretty much on 24/7. Not quite the original playlists I was hoping
to get.
Finally, what were some of the things that surprised me? First off,
it's still cool. To be free of Clear Channel's chokehold on music
radio is great. The web access is free. XM charges you about four
dollars a month, making it more expensive monthly if you use web
access. If you get Dish Network, the music stations are there
already to listen through over your television. If you don't get
Dish Network, you can get a free preview via the web for three
days. Nice. Finally, I've become acquainted with many bands that I
would not have known or just barely remember. It's nice to hear
Traffic, Public Enemy, Guns and Roses, Flogging Molly, N.W.A.,
etc.
So, all in all, it's a nice complement, but it's no magic musical
panacea.
Pros:
Song preview
20 Memory Storage
Large display
Free online access after signing up
Free 3-day online preview
Cons:
Nickel and diming
Very repetitive song list
Entertainment and News is Just a Replay of Television
Customer Service is lacking
Signal cannot be received in many places.
Minimum Setup Cost ~ 200 dollars
Optimal Setup Cost ~ 350 dollars
Monthly Cost ~ 13 dollars

are selling these for about a $100 - which is a fair price, IMO. I
bought one for evaluation, then came back another day to pick up a
2nd pair for my spouse. They are comfortable and perform well at
long range as I walked all over the house while listening to music.
The only con I found so far is that it seems to me that when two
sets of these headphones are on at times they interfere w/each
other (sound jitters - appears/disappears). It also has a built-in
microphone which I have not tested out yet - definitely will cause
I got PlayStation 3 which I paired them with no problem. Also,
sometimes the base will not turn off when I press the power on/off
button - seems like a little glitch. Overall, I think it's a very
nice bluetooth stereo w/SRS and mic headphones.

for his computer to connect to the internet. The distance from the
transmitter jack to the receiver jack was probably further than in
the case of my Tivo. Anyway, the Phonex did not work. I returned
it, and decided to try the Belkin. First, I notice that the Belkin
says it's good for 56K transmission rate, whereas the Phonex says
only up to 16K. I don't know--but I can report that the Belkin

not..

(More customer
reviews)I don't understand everyone else's negative
reviews about the learning feature of this remote. For most of my
components it took a little extra time and patience, but it got
there eventually. The most trouble I had was with my Apex DVD
player; the remote preset code wouldn't work and I had to program
each button individually. The functions were "forgotten" a few
times, but I patiently kept reprogramming and now it finally seems
to have stuck. Sure, if I had paid a ridiculous amount for it, this
would be unacceptable, but you ALWAYS get what you pay for. I've
learned that lesson time and time again.
When I tried programming a second DVD player onto Aux, it screwed
up the main player's settings. I haven't tried it again since
successfully getting the first to stay in there. There are 4 Audio
buttons which unfortunately only offer soft keys suited for audio
operation, not adaptable to DVD players. So for now I'm holding
onto my lesser-used player's remote.
The pros:
Programming wasn't difficult, I don't think I even bothered reading
the manual.
I like that the permanent hard keys are play, FF, rewind, as I need
those for 3 of the 5 components I am operating. The prior
touchscreen remote I tried (Sima) had those as soft keys, which was
annoying.
The response time for the keys seems adequate.
The blue-lit screen looks very high-tech and buttons aren't too
hypersensitive about hitting the wrong one.
I love the punch-through feature for the volume keys. On the Sima I
had to constantly switch back to TV to change volume.
The touchscreen material makes it very easy to wipe fingerprints
off. Keeps it looking newer longer.
I love the PDA look of the unit.
I love FINALLY having only one remote on the coffee table, rather
than two or three.
The cons:
The biggest con I can see is the placement of the hard keys. Being
at the bottom, it is impossible to use this with only one hand.
Would have been better to reverse hard keys and touchscreen (or
provided longer hand grip underneath hard keys).
Not able to relabel soft keys for special functions. But from what
I have read, only the top-of-the-line models let you do this.
Again, you get what you pay for.
Kind of silly to have a "mute" button so prominently placed in the
center of the hard keys. Our family never uses it. I wish it could
have been reprogrammed for an important Tivo function instead.
Backlight doesn't stay on long enough, and impossible to see screen
in the dark without it. Time will tell what kind of wear this puts
on the batteries.
Overall I'd say this is a great value for the price. Some people
who are more demanding with higher expectations might want to look
at higher end units, though.
****EDIT****: 9 months later the remote has forgotten all my codes
repeatedly and now nothing will stick. It's back to operating only
the TV. Guess you have to pay top dollar to have a remote that is
really and truly universal. Subtract 3 of those stars.

(More customer

I wanted it to very well -- that is, in a wired network
environment, it streams all the mp3 files that I have on my PC's
hard drive through my traditional two-channel audio setup. It has a
number of limitations: it doesn't support Internet radio, except
for a paid service, and it doesn't support various rights-protected
data formats. But it does do the one thing I bought it for
extremely well: allowing me to enjoy my entire music collection in
an organized, well catalogued way, through my home audio
system.
As this whole field of products is still pretty new, I also didn't
want to spend more money on one of the more advanced systems -- it
seems that the customer feedback on all of these media players
remains pretty mixed. So I stuck with something relatively simple,
and this little box does what I want for a reasonable price.
(Previously I was using my iPod on a docking station, connected to
my stereo...for the modest price of this Netgear player I've now
liberated the iPod that previously was wired up to my stereo.)
A couple of cautions:
1. A lot of the customer problems cited here at Amazon seem to
relate to problems with wireless transmission. I did not even try
to set this up in a wireless network; I just hard-wired it into the
network port I had installed in my living room. I have had a lot of
frustration in my home w/wireless devices so finally just gave up
and dropped in wiring for a home network while I was having other
electrical work done in my house. I am glad I bit the bullet -- the
wired network is saving me a lot of time and trouble. This Netgear
product is just one example of the kinds of things that are very
happy tethered to a wire that seem to be much more problematic when
they are wireless.
2. Throw away the software disk that comes with the hardware --
don't install it!. Instead, download the new software and firmware
that is on Netgear's site. I couldn't get this to work at all at
first -- tech support advised me to uninstall the provided
software, download the software update on their site, and start
over. This got more complicated than it sounds because I'd already
built a database of songs for the Netgear and I had to hunt down
this database file and kill it, too...it got a little bit
tricky...so it took me a couple of hours in all to get this fixed.
Had I started with the new software posted on Netgear's site, I
would have had the whole thing done in 20 minutes. In any case,
just go right to netgear's site and download their new software,
and don't use the junk they ship with the product.
I also found netgear's tech support to be very, very good -- they
answered the phone quickly (on Christmas Eve!) and were extremely
helpful and patient.

(More customer

aerodynamic appearance to them and are made out of plastic. I'm
fine with the plastic because I plan to use these outside and if it
starts to rain or gets hit with the hose, I won't have to worry
about anything.
Reception: I live in a townhouse with 4 units per building and the
signal seems to work pretty darn good! I plugged the transmitter
into my computer headphone jack (located in my basement) and the
audio signals pass through the walls and floors. I was able carry
the speakers to my first floor, second floor, outside and in my
garage all with clear reception. The "auto tune" feature works
great to find the clearest signal and I haven't experienced any
problems with cordless phones causing interference.
Volume/Tuning controls: Having the volume and tuning controls on
the speakers and on the wireless remote control make it easy to
control the volume from anywhere.
Power: Each speaker requires 6 C batteries which tends to get a
little pricey. However, the package also includes 2 AC power cords
so you can just plug it in and run it off of electricity. So far,
I've ran my speakers only on the batteries for about 5 hours and
the batteries don't seem to be dying yet.
Sound: OK, now for the most important question, what kind of sound
quality do these things put out? If you're expecting absolute,
superior sound quality (like you would from some top of the line,
wired speakers) then you may want to re-evaluate the idea of
wireless speakers. If you're just looking to sit outside on the
porch, around the pool or just kick back and listen to some music,
these will work JUST fine! At first, the speakers sounded a bit
bass heavy and somewhat "booming." But, after I adjusted all the
audio settings on my computer (the source of the music), the
quality GREATLY improved!
