Summary: The Conscious Observer...
This blog is dedicated to living with joy through conscious observation...
As I meditate and write, contemplate and illustrate, I
come across some of the most interesting articles, blogs, web-sites
and books related to kindness of
self. At this particular
time I am reading:
Be Kind to Yourself
, and being kind to my
self by traveling to
Ontario, Canada to visit family and friends. My trip
has provided me with a stop-over in Vancouver where I've
checked-into a luxury hotel to enjoy a massage and a relaxing
dinner. I'm being kind to myself, living (not existing) in two
of the five modalities that create joy [
love and
play]; as you may recall from an earlier post:
What Makes Life Worth Living... there are five
modalities that you should consider spending time in each day, or
in a series of days, so that you're not wasting time
simply
existing (living in fear) in a world of stress
and dis-ease. The five modalities, in order of priority, are:
create,
love,
give,
play and
learn.
I do find it interesting that
so many people yield to themselves; that they work hard, support a
family, help their friends, but rarely are they kind to themselves.
And this doesn't mean being selfish; on the contrary, it's more of
a Spirit true-self conscious observation of giving, and loving,
yourself.
Be
Kind to Yourself...
With so much responsibility attached to survival, especially in
Northern countries, there isn't always the time or money luxury to
be good to yourself. There are, however, a few things you can do to
take advantage of living, and giving to yourself:
- Take a long, hot bath
- Take a walk in the woods
- Talk to a friend on the phone for an hour
- Take a nap
- Eat chocolate without having to share
- Read a trashy novel
- Watch a funny movie alone, and laugh outloud
- Go to Walmart and greet the Greeter
- Post a blog entry
- Play with a dog (cat's don't count; they're too kind to
themselves)
- Eat a toasted bagel with loads of butter
- Make hors d'oeuvers and toast yourself with a glass
of wine
- Sleep late on a work day
- Eat a kid's meal at McDonalds
Have a joyous
day...

Although life itself
is wonderful, living it
can be a challenge; especially if your character
misguides you, as mine has done, so many times.
In the past few weeks I've met some ordinary people with some very
extraordinary challenges; mostly emotional baggage. When I listen
to their stories I can't help but wonder how they ever managed
to check their baggage and move forward.
Dianetics...
While visiting Cape Town, South Africa I picked up a book from a
used-book store; a book titled:
Dianetics
, by L. Ron Hubbard.
Dianetics has remained a bestseller
for more than 50 years. And with over 20 million copies sold,
generating a movement that spans virtually every country on
Earth, it is indisputably one of the most widely read and
influential books ever written about the human mind.
Dianetics is a set of ideas and practices regarding the
metaphysical relationship between the mind and body that was
invented by the science fiction author
L. Ron Hubbard
and is practiced by followers of
Scientology.
Hubbard coined
Dianetics from the
Greek stems
dia, meaning through, and
nous, meaning
mind.
Here is the anatomy and full description of the Reactive Mind,
the previously unknown source of nightmares, unreasonable fears,
upsets and insecurities which enslave Man. This book shows you
how to get rid of it, and so achieve something Man has previously
only dreamed of: the State of Clear. Among the discoveries
herein:
- The Goal of Man...
- The Dynamic Principle of Existence -- the one word that
motivates all living things...
- The Four Dynamics -- the drives upon which all of life is
compartmented...
- The Descriptic Graph of Survival revealing ones true
potential and how to achieve it...
- The discovery of and complete anatomy of the Reactive
Mind...
- The painful experiences engrams contained in the Reactive
Mind which command one to act irrationally against their own
wishes and goals...
- The impact of prenatal engrams that took place before you
were born and how it has influenced you ever since...
- Dianetics enables you to discover and eradicate harmful
experiences so they never affect you again, revealing the one
person you have always wanted to know -- you...
All of us, at one time or another, has experienced situations
that through our own actions [choice] or the actions of
others have left emotional scars [baggage] embedded in our
sub-conscious mind. I don't think anyone is immune to this. Left
un-checked, however, it can lead to depression and anxiety. If
you think your life isn't so wonderful you may
desire to
read this book.
Have a joyous
day...

Imagine if life
had an undo button; what would you use it
for?
Unfortunately, there is no undo button, in life, per se.
There is, however, a repeat button, and a go button, and if
you don't understand at least the analogy of an undo
button you may be doomed to repeat those things you wish you
could undo.
I use this analogy to make a list of the decisions I've made
in the past—that I wish I could undo—to determine 'who'
made those decisions, and why. That is to say, were these
particular decisions made by an unconscious character trait (a.k.a.
egoic false-self), or a decision made by my Spirit true-self for
its own spiritual growth. Then I ask myself, was I under the
influence of an addiction or habit, either to an internal emotion
like fear, or an external substance like alcohol; was I conscious,
or unconscious when I made those decisions?
"We choose to create our
own reality whether we're conscious or
not..."
A decision to return to an on-again, off-again relationship
turned out to be one that I would press the undo button if
there were such a thing. I am now in the process of reviewing who
made the decision, and why. At this time it is becoming clear
that my Spirit true-self made the decision out of a desire to
help my friend through a tough time. My decision to leave again
was generated by my egoic false-self wanting to be on my own and
thoughts of resentment that she was holding me back from becoming
who I truly desire to be (holding me back emotionally and
financially). I realize now that I cannot continue to repeat this
process of getting involved with someone out of fear and
loneliness. It's time to press the 'go' button and consciously
allow my Spirit true-self to guide me to my ultimate destiny,
which I know is joy (freedom from fear).
Make a List
of Choices You've Made...
One of the conscious observation techniques, which works well
for me, is to make a list of choices you've made in the past
and assess its impact on your life. This is where the
undo
button theory is good; any decision you've made in the
past—that you'd like to undo—will hit the list. I then divide the
list into egoic false-self decisions and Spirit true-self
decisions. To make it easier to identify which decision belongs to
which self you can start with patterns; was this particular
decision a repeat of a past decision (a.k.a., unconscious character
trait - spontaneous - anger - jealously - fear - et cetera).
Are
Not all Choices a Part of Learning?
Yes; knowledge (what you learn by study) + experience (what you do
physically and emotionally) = wisdom. You cannot obtain wisdom
without knowledge and experience; and this is only true if you
retire old negative emotions to wisdom in the process so you can
move forward; making known the unknown, as it were. Pressing the
go button to experience new creations.
...have a joyous day;
create, love, give, play and learn...

Description...
Ignorance and fear have driven humanity to pass on the lies handed
down to us by our parents, teachers, religious leaders, and
politicians. In an effort to control the behavior of society they
have not told you of your awesome power. They have not told you of
the freedom that is yours - your birthright.
We have tried to work within the confines of morality and darkness
for thousands of thousands of years - we have not received what we
were promised for the struggle, hardship, and acquiescence.
What makes intelligent people ignore the obvious? What we have been
doing for thousands of years has not brought us what we desire or
what we were promised as a species.
"What makes life worth living? Creating, Loving,
Giving, Playing and
Learning."
--E.J.
Lister
Why is it that some people are poor while others are rich - is it
luck, intelligence or just being in the right place at the right
time? What is it that successful people know that you do not? Why
is it that some people attract illness while others never catch so
much as a sniffle? What is the secret behind a sudden recovery from
a terminal illness? Why do some people have accidents and others
not?

Why
is it that some people attract the right people to them for mates
while you struggle just to be noticed?

Why is it that successful people have all kinds of
friends and acquaintances around them that support them in
abundance?
These questions have been asked for centuries, yet for all the
history, insight, and enlightenment that humanity has - it always
turns to the same source for answers. Too few have clued-in - it
always brings us back to the same place of lack, accidents, war,
illness, and fear. Hasn't anyone figured out the common
denominator, what is wrong in the equation that is giving us the
wrong answers?
Life was never meant to be a struggle, we were not put on this
earth, we came by desire, and we are not here to learn anything.
What is our real purpose - what transcends the obvious misery and
struggle that we demonstrate in our lives everyday? Do you really
believe that it is a God or Devil that is causing these things?
Except for technical advances, as a species we really have not
developed spiritually very much, and for good reason.
In my new book,
Your Life Was Never Meant to be a
Struggle
, I go all the way and push all the buttons. There are no
secrets - only for those who choose not to see.
Your body is an illusion, and you are a process not a thing. Your
Life Was Never Meant to be a Struggle, takes you there - to the
outer limits and beyond. Enlightenment does not mean you do not
have to participate in life. It reveals purpose, and life is no
longer a struggle. If you could amass great abundance at will -
would you not be interested in the concept? If you didn't have to
be sick or have accidents wouldn't you be just a little curious? If
you could at least understand why your life is the way it is -
would it not help you to know?
If enlightenment comes from awareness, then wouldn't a short
glimpse outside of the box help you make better decisions? If there
are secrets - who is keeping them from you and why?
Roy's thoughts are not new, they are simply said in a different way
that most people can understand. Simple and eloquent in form that
opens one's mind to new possibilities. No one comes away from this
book without being enlightened.

creating
them."

Imagine a time when you
weren't afraid; can you? Now think
of a time when you
were afraid. It's not surprising that
we feel uncomfortable, alone, anxious or even down-right scared
sometimes; we're only human. This primordial emotion, however, was
meant to protect us; to help us survive. It wasn't meant to be a
state of
mind.
The opposite of fear is faith—a conscious and courageous sense of
self that blocks all thoughts of failure and self-preservation. Is
it any wonder then that those who simply exist on this planet
live in fear; the unconscious ones who navigate life with only
their egoic false-self voice-in-the-head to guide them. Add in the
stems of fear, such as guilt, resentment, jealousy, anger and
regret and you've got a recipe for pain and suffering, which
ultimately lead to unhealthy habits and addictions as one tries to
escape the pain in search of pleasure.
If you're trapped in this state-of-mind—whether addicted or not—you
may find that awakening to your Spirit true-self through conscious
observation will introduce faith in your
self, which not
only gives you courage, it allows you to co-create a life of joyous
experiences.
For the alcoholic who drinks to relieve his pain there is only one
certain cure—faith in a higher-power. No amount of medical
(physical or mental) assistance alone can help him overcome his
fear, or pain; this phenomenon has been proven time-and-again
through the
Alcoholics Anonymous
fellowship program.
I know first-hand how difficult it is to have faith; to consciously
observe my
self; to remember that I am only human, that I
am not alone in this mind and body. How ever
you
acknowledge your higher-power (God/Consciousness) and your Spirit
true-self is up to you. And how ever
you choose to listen
to its guidance is also up to you. I've found that conscious
observation works well for me; even though I don't completely
understand how it works. And maybe that's what faith
is all about; a simple belief and awareness of my Spirit
true-self, and its fearlessness.
I can't tell you how
not to be afraid; but I can tell you
that by not having faith—trying to rid pain with pleasure—will only
result in more fear and pain as you cycle in-and-out of
happy/unhappy states, injecting more adrenalin into your veins than
you were designed to handle, draining you of much needed
energy for living a joyous life. It's a paradox, really. Just try
accepting this idea for a time and see if you can't feel the joy of
living without fear; without seeking pleasure... just be, for
awhile...
Some ideas you can try to just be:
- Meditate
- Yoga
- Contemplate
- Walk in the woods
- Hold someones hand
- Consciously observe life as it unfolds around you
- Breath
- Simplify your life
- Bathe
Have a joyous
day...

Yesterday I watched the documentary:
Kymatica; the sequel to the
Estoeric Agenda. As part of the
joy of living (learning) you may
desire
to watch these (I recommend watching Kymatica at
least).

As
part of my search for my authentic Spirit true-self, and the
desire to create meaningful, loving experiences, and the
ability to make conscious choices, I've read, watched, written and
contemplated a number of things, which seem to help with discovery;
however, there are times when I still don't seem to understand.
There are times when I struggle with purpose and meaning; times
when I just don't get it. Perhaps it is an unsolvable
mystery

. As I read
The Philosophy Book
I learn that throughout history man has contemplated:
Why are we here? What is our purpose? Does God exist? What is
consciousness? As far back as 624 BCE
Thales of
Miletus, the first known Greek philosopher, seeks
rational answers to questions about the world we
live in. So if human beings (intellectual, smart men and
women) have been questioning and seeking answers for this
long, concluding only mathematical and universal laws, does
this mean those of us who search, who read this blog, who seek to
discover, are amongst those intellectual, smart men and
women? Does it mean we're not living a normal life, that which
does not question; rather, those human beings who simply exist
by survival, accepting the ups-and-downs and never
questioning? Are we in fact driving ourselves crazy?
Acceptance...
Perhaps it's time to accept that life as we know it
is a
mystery and the paradox is not worth trying to figure out;
because, if you really think about it, life has just 3 rules:
-
Paradox: life is a paradox; don't waste time
trying to figure it out...
-
Change: know that nothing stays the
same...
-
Humor: keep a sense of humor, especially about
yourself; it is a strength beyond all measure...
Rather than stressing and searching you may find that by
simply living, that is to say, living a simple life, the
frequencies you transmit as your thoughts will be free of
static, allowing the consciousness (receivers) in
every particle of the universe to clearly understand your
message so as to co-create your reality in a joyous and meaningful
way. What I am saying is, by consciously observing, practicing
what we know is true, having patience and faith, expecting life to
unfold in a peaceful, harmonious manner, that we may stop seeking
and start living.
Have a conscious and
joyous day...

Although there
are numerous experiences and circumstances
in which we perceive our life as
falling apart,
there are only two reasons
why. You may be
experiencing a health issue; a relationship breakdown; a financial
issue; a death in the family; a sudden relocation; or a business
failure, and either the circumstances are manageable, or they're
not; which takes us back to the two reasons
why they
happened in the first place. The
first is related to your
ego; your egoic false-self personality made unconscious
decisions in the pursuit of happiness, as in
wanting and
having; or
second, your Spirit true-self
consciously created the experience to evolve, or to grow.
I've learned to tell the difference between experiences and
circumstances that were created as a result of my unconscious egoic
false-self decisions and choices, and the experiences and
circumstances that were created as a result of my conscious Spirit
true-self
desire to expand (I'll elaborate more on this in
coming posts...)
The trick, I believe, is to be aware of
who is creating. I
am experiencing a 'life falling apart' now as my relationship with
someone has ended, along with much of the financial investment I
shared with that person. At first I was angry (egoic false-self
reaction); then I was depressed. Eventually, however, I traced the
decisions of the past back to my egoic false-self personality, and
discovered which experiences my Mind-made 'Me' egoic false-self
personality created, and which experiences my Spirit true-self 'I'
created. And even though I am faced with the clean-up phase I know
it will be so much better to retire those emotions and experiences
to wisdom and move forward with the knowledge of conscious and
unconscious decisions.
The
Ten Things to Do When Your Life Falls Apart: from the book
- Cry your heart out
- Face your defaults - habitual behaviours (egoic false-self
personality traits)
- Do something different
- Let go
- Remember who you've always been
- Persist
- Integrate your loss
- Live simply
- Go where the love is
- Live in the light of spirit

If
Only Everything in Life Could be Covered in
Butter...
From the movie,
Paper Man. If you're looking for an uplifting movie
you may want to watch this one. I've watched it many times, and
each time it made me laugh, and made me cry.
How we look at things, that is to say, when we're consciously
observing, knowing our Spirit true-self and egoic false-self
personalities we begin to see that life is really an illusion that
we either enjoy or feel bad about. Some people choose to look at
life consciously through their Spirit true-self, while others
choose to unconsciously look at life through their egoic
false-self, judging, feeling victimized, feeling resentful, et
cetera. I choose to look at life through my conscious Spirit
true-self, realizing that everything has a purpose, and it's all
good... everything is covered in butter... and what a buttery-world
it is.
Have a joyous day, and remember:
everything has a purpose...

Once you have discovered your
Spirit true-self through conscious
observation you may
desire to discover who you are
other than thy own self. Understanding your Astrological
and egoic false-self personality can significantly improve
your chances of
living with joy
.
The
Unconscious You... (egoic false-self)
Through self-awareness it is possible to determine the
characteristics of your other self that exists on survival,
instinct and fear, so that God Consciousness and your Spirit
true-self can co-create the reality you
desire to
experience (a.k.a.
living, versus existing) without the negative
barriers of fear, change, or attachment. To do this it will be
necessary to get out your journal, or a piece of paper, and a pen
and answer these questions with honesty:
- What do I resent? Someone or something from the past?
- What do I look like? I would change

- I was born in ________________________ on

- I want? List them, i.e., money, someone to love me,
power, control, sex, etc.
- I dream about having or being something. List your
dreams, remembering that these are not visions, desires, or

- I need to be entertained? i.e., television, video games,
movies, parties, etc.
- I do not like to be alone? Yes or No (Why?)

Continue to journal, answering these 20 questions as best you
can. Read previous posts if you're unsure of the meaning of some
questions. On my next post I'll explain more about how to know
your other self and help you find that connection with God
Consciousness so you can find peace and joy in your life through
the freedom of fear (thy other self - eogic false-self).
"I don't tell God
Consciousness how big my problems are; I tell my problems how big
my God Consciousness is..."
Have a joyous day... and
remember: Living with Joy means you're consciously observing and
living in one of these five modalities at anytime during the next

The
Scientific Revolution and the Church...
The Scientific Revolution
:
circa Late 16th Century - 18th Century
- brought upon a fundamental change in the ways
Europeans viewed the natural world. Discoveries, which revealed a
universe full of potential (consciousness + energy) opened up a
whole new concept of God that the church, at the time, was not in
favor of.
We are fortunate now to have had people like Copernicus, Galileo,
Sir Isaac Newton (to name a few) who were persistent and driven
(passion, intention,
desire) to
make known the unknown
, at the risk of being banished by the church.
I was not raised in an environment where the church influenced the
way I viewed life; nor was I religious in any way. In fact, my
father was an atheist. Fortunately for me, however, my mother was
an Angel. She inspired me through her positive outlook on life; her
Mind over Matter
attitude; and her boundless energy; she still inspires me
today, although it's often through long-distant conversations
(
thank God for science and technology).
Now that I know
what makes life worth living: creating, loving,
giving, playing and learning, I find myself closer to a
God/Source that I know exists, but can't completely comprehend. And
perhaps I (we) never truly will; the human Mind cannot comprehend
what it does not perceive as real through analysis of its senses. A
Mind that is occupied by an egoic false-self personality will
challenge any idea of consciousness, God, or hope. Call it what you
like: devil, demon, Antichrist; we all know the temptation for
pleasure, wanting and having, power, sex, money, etc. is always
there in the forefront of our unconscious Mind. So what if we
didn't have this egoic false-self personality, Mind parasite? I
wonder, during times of silent contemplation if Jesus of Nazareth
was without this challenge? How else can you explain His ability to
produce miracles. And what, if any, miracles are you capable of
producing? Well, I guess that depends on how conscious you are; how
quiet that egoic false-self voice-in-the-head is while you're
co-creating your own reality. Think about this:
Jesus of
Nazareth...
E.J. Lister -
The Conscious Observer
More than
2000 years ago a very special baby was born of the virgin Mary in
Jerusalem. His name was, Jesus. From the moment Jesus was born
his consciousness and energy was recognized (felt) as a heavenly
connection to the God/Source (Creator); so much so that he was
referred to as, The Son of
God; his Mind was not possessed with an egoic false-self
(a.k.a., devil, demon, Antichrist, etc.). At least, this is
my opinion; my only conclusion as to how one human being could be
so pure.
We’re all
familiar with the miracles created by Jesus during his presence
on earth. Many, however, are only now beginning to understand and
believe how and why Jesus came to save us from suffering. Jesus
instilled joy upon the earth through his teachings, and through
his Spirit true-self connection with the God/Source, showing us
the way to living a life of joy.
To know Jesus
through the eyes of the religious dogmas of the churches has been
the dominant way for two millennia. But religious beliefs are not
the only way to know Jesus. In the last few centuries arts and
sciences have looked upon Jesus as the Spirit of consciousness
and energy—the invisible force behind all manifestations of
matter (organic and inert) in our entire known universe.
We now have a choice. We can
believe that Jesus represents salvation, and therefore an
afterlife of heavenly
existence; or we can believe that Jesus represents the
Spirit true-self connection within us (The Kingdom of Heaven
in within you) to create and experience a life filled with
joy; absent of the egoic false-self demon that tells us lies and
makes us want; makes us afraid; makes us happy one moment and
unhappy the next. Knowing Jesus, then, is being conscious of your
own Spirit true-self connection with the God/Source so that you
can create all that which you desire most, without fear, without
attachment. Through co-creation you can create miracles and
joyous experiences.
Knowing Jesus
this way brings about an awakening, or enlightenment, if you
will.
Have a joyous
day...

I recently discovered that the hip and back pain I was experiencing
over the past couple of months was due to a build-up of negative
energy in my Mind and Body; it was all due to unconscious egoic
false-self negative thoughts that I was not even aware of, but that
I know now was due to the circumstances I was experiencing;
circumstances that did not match the vibrational frequency of
my Spirit true-self
desires.
When the negative energy finally reached it's threshold
(a.k.a.
The Pain Body
) it altered my behavior, releasing emotions of
fear, which in turn made me angry. That period of anger lasted
no more than an hour, however, the damage cannot be
undone.
Strangely, in the aftermath of that experience, I found joy
(
the absence of negative energy and its accomplice -
fear). The physical
and emotional pain is gone; so
too is the constant tiredness I had been experiencing. In the hours
that followed I began to ask myself, "
Who created that? What was the purpose?". And it made me think
about how
confession
can release the demon (a.k.a. egoic false-self
voice-in-the-head) in an otherwise perfectly normal human
being.
The
Secret Language of Your Body...
I completely missed what my body was trying to tell me; I had
not been practicing conscious observation. Now although it did
deliver me from pain—providing me with the freedom of living with
joy—I know it could have been managed better had I listened to what
my body was telling me, and been more conscious of my thoughts.
What my Spirit true-self was trying to tell me was to create new
experiences; to remove myself from the environment, relationship,
habits (drinking, eating, sleeping, exercising) and their
associated circumstances. When I failed to do so—failing to be
conscious—my Spirit true-self allowed the egoic false-self decision
to unfold, knowing that I would grow as a result. But as you can
see, it wasn't necessary for it to be that way. Had I been paying
attention to the
Secret Language of My Body
and been practicing conscious observation I could
have made the decision to release that negative energy in a more
productive manner; or at least not added fuel to the fire by
drinking.
So, if you find that you're experiencing physical pain,
tiredness, depression or anxiety, why not learn from my mistake and
practice conscious observation to determine if your thoughts are
negative (more so than positive) and whether your circumstances
(relationship, job, living conditions, etc.) are, or are not,
allowing you to live with joy, or whether they're actually creating
within you the potential to explode with uncontrolled fearful
emotions.
My desire to share with you my discoveries of living with joy
continue to unfold with enthusiasm and creative experiences. I am
focused on attracting an
agent to assist me with publication and
distribution of my book, followed by speaking engagements that will
allow me to inspire others to learn from my experiences...
Please share this blog
with whomever you feel would enjoy learning more about
consciousness + energy and the creation of a joyous
life...

I've written a great deal lately on the topic of creating
your own reality, while at the same time challenging you
to be conscious of who is creating, i.e., is it your
egoic false-self unconsciously creating, or your Spirit true-self
consciously creating. There have been times when I say to
myself, "I would never create that!", as I'm sure you've said to
yourself as well, on more than one occasion. But then I ask
myself, "Who is creating, and what is the purpose of this
experience?", especially if it's something as tragic as a
breakup of an otherwise healthy relationship, brought on by the
egoic false-self unconscious negative-thinking, enhanced by fearful
emotions.
Eckhart Tolle
writes and speaks in great detail about 'The Pain Body'
and how its negative-seeking appetite can turn a normal human
being into a monster when, as he says, it comes out to feed.
And although the normal human being never meant to
act in such a violent manner, for which there is no excuse, really
(except that we must consider the deep-rooted, unconscious egoic
false-self and its negative self-talk and emotions of fear, guilt,
resentment and jealousy) the choice was made, for which the actions
result in consequences.
"Be conscious of your choices,
and responsible for your actions..."
I have had moments of unconscious actions and reactions, both
during times of sobriety and times of abuse. So is there a purpose?
Well, perhaps awareness is the one good thing that comes out
of the bad; breaking addictive behaviour and the cycle of
happy/unhappy, becoming conscious of who you are really, and living
a life of joy (meaning no attachment, no
egoic false-self wanting/having, no pain).

Unfortunately,
remaining conscious, especially during periods of influence, can be
very difficult indeed. Again, I've been through it, and I continue
to grow with each experience as I work on my
self to
become a Conscious Observer. Fortunately, however, there
are programs like
AA that help
people to recover and live a more joyous life.
So, my dear friends, never give up or give in; everything has a
purpose...
Be good to yourself,
wherever you are, and do the best you can to live a joyous life:
Create, Love, Give, Play and Learn.
