If you have ever let your pet go without using his
Frontline For Pets , you know how it can wreak
havoc with your anxiety level.
At any weed filled corner, you'll be eyeballing the tall grass,
searching out critters hoping to jump on board your cat. At every
expedition into the dog park, you'll be thinking about if it's
worth it to be picking creepy crawlies out of your pup's coat after
the trip.
You will not be able to have fun on a walk in the back country
without wondering if a tick has hopped on your dog, and you'll
hurry to your house to look between his toes for any ticks.
(Sick!)
I used to be that way, also.
When I first got my puppy, Kera, I was too frugal to purchase
Frontline For Pets . Even though I lived in North Carolina - with
nice warm weather that mosquitos crave! - I felt that since Kera
stayed indoors we need not worry about fleas attacking her when she
stayed in our home.
Then, it happened and I got schooled.
I was snuggling with Kera, resting my arm on her, and scratching
her haunches when I discovered there - under the fur - was a fast
dark critter.
"Yuck-yuck-yuck," I thought, I thought I should surely get that
little critter reoved from my friend. I parted the fur and started
chasing it around as the flea wove back and forth eluding
death.
As I chased the single pest, I disgustedly saw that there were
friends...
I invested the subsequent hour painstakingly removing (manually)
every unwelcome guest I identified, and then smooshing it and
throwing it in a cup of alcohol to make sure it was definitely
kaput.
Once I had rounded up all I could, I was still concerned that there
were clearly many more waiting in her fur.
That very day, I knew it was the opportunity my pup to start using
flea control routine.
Ben and I drove to the grocery store and studied all the flea drops
- Frontline Plus for dogs, K-9 Advantix for dogs, Advantage flea
killer - there were quite a few choices.
Ben and I opted to go with Frontline for pets and it seemed
flawless for Kera. The Frontline Plus purple nuked all the ticks
and fleas and she did not exhibit any side effects. Phew! Glad to
have that handled!
In fact, it was so easy, I got lazy and stopped using Frontline
For Pets .
The next time around, I thought to myself, "Boy, I have this flea
control thing down, I'm going to buy the more affordable products
at the grocery store, rather than spring for the Frontline for
dogs."
That wasn't the best of moves. Not only did it leave a residue in
Kera's fur where we applied it (not really a major issue), but more
concerning, we spotted the fleas returned to her in 4 weeks of when
we had used the flea and tick drops.
After that experience, I again absorbed the lesson - it's worth
paying for the proven products like Frontline for pets, Advantage
flea control, and K-9 Advantix for dogs.
From applying Frontline for pets according to the instructions
after that, we haven't encountered any subsequent issues with fleas
or ticks. In fact, Frontline for pets keeps mosquitoes away, also,
which also bite and carry disease.
You should keep mosquitoes off your dog. Fleas and ticks can go
back and forth from wild hosts (foxes, rabbits, deer, etc.) to
domestic animals, and even to us. As if their itchy bites weren't
bad enough, they can harbor deadly sicknesses like Lyme Disease and
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
Once fleas are on your cat or in your home, they can be challenging
to irradicate. They'll infect your carpet and your yard.
So be bug-smart - plan for parasites - and use a good flea control
product like Advantage flea control, K-9 Advantix for dogs, or
Frontline for pets for your pet.
Because these flea and tick sprays can be pricey, I've identified a
place to get them for about
20-50% cheaper than what your
vet charges (depending on which flea and tick sprays you select and
what your vet bills for them, of course...).
You can purchase them online with free same-day shipping and it's
really quick.
