The Godfather: Popularly viewed as one of the best American films

Based on the novel mid-70s by Judith Rossner (which itself was
based on a true story), this film was supposed to be the one that
has established its credibility Diane Keaton as a “serious”
actress – and yet it won the Oscar for another film she made the
same year, Annie Hall. However, the search for Mr. Goodbar is a
solid and intriguing film, which offered the first substantial
film roles of Richard Gere and Tom Berenger. Keaton is a
repressed Catholic teacher who works with deaf children. In the
midst of the sexual revolution, she discovers that her own
appetite for carnal pleasure – but tries to keep physically,
avoiding emotional entanglement, until she meets Mr. really bad.
Keaton is solid, but director Richard Brooks can not stop this
