Can I install 5 / 8 durarock over the reins on my shower base?

I have to install durarock around a shower tray, the receiver is Kohler cast iron flange is thick enough instructions shows the plasterboard keyed to overlap the flange of the receiver, can I install the plate plaster flange and allow the tiles overlap the flange? The reason I ask is because I am afraid the swelling does go well

Pack all the walls around the shower base 1.8 4.1 or whatever is needed to be flush with the flange, then install your 1 / 2 "plates plaster cement board / above the flange. Please paste your packages and all your 1 / 2 hardware! not need 5 / 8.
