Every day about 100 tons of meteoroids -- fragments of dust and
gravel and sometimes even big rocks – enter the Earth's
atmosphere. Stand out under the stars for more than a half an
hour on a clear night and you'll likely see a few of the meteors
produced by the onslaught. But where does all this stuff come
from? Surprisingly, the answer is not well known.
Now NASA is deploying a network of smart cameras across the
United States to answer the question, What's Hitting
Earth?

When I was a little kid, my mom would always say good night, sleep
tight, dont let the bed bugs bite! to me right before I went to
sleep. Because of that, it never really occurred to me that bed
bugs were actually a serious danger to people in certain living
conditions. They were always kind of a joke threat, like the boogie

If youre interested in astronomy then theres a treat in the night
sky at the moment. Jupiter, the largest of the planets, is the
bright object in the southern sky during the hours of

prominent bands, north and south of its equator, the southern band
has all but disappeared in recent months. Such a fading of a band
is quite rare and occurs only every 1520 years. The fading of the
southern band means that Jupiters Great Red Spot is all the more
prominent on the planet...

While cheap in every sense of the word telescopes are still to be
found, recent years have seen the introduction of small but very
affordable telescopes from manufacturers such as Meade and
Celestron and, despite their small size, these telescopes have
excellent optics that far outperform the cheap optics found in old
60mm telescopes from years gone by.Today, though, there are a huge
number of telescopes of various designs available to the amateur
astronomer. So how do you choose one thats right for you
