(More customer reviews)If you're in the
market for a portable television, I recommend you skip the 2.3 inch
models and upgrade to this 4 inch Casio. You'll be amazed by the
difference 2 inches can make. I've abandoned my smaller RCA
portable after seeing the display on the EV-4500; the difference is
striking.
The TFT LCD screen produces a sharp, detailed picture and reception
is quite good even before extending the rod antenna. Sound from the
small speaker is also clear but you can always use the ear jack
(mono sound only). The only reason I knocked off a star is because
of battery life. Casio's specs. indicate an estimate battery life
of 2 hours (4 AAs); that's close to reality, so the other
reviewer's recommendation is dead-on: if you plan on watching this
often, buy the AC adaptor accessory (MSRP 19.95). A car adaptor is
also available.
If you want a portable television with a great picture (that
doesn't induce eye strain), buy this EV-4500. It's a great
value.

(More customer reviews)This product
replaces a Hauppaugge PVR-150 in my HTPC. The quality on analog
signals is significantly better, and adds the ability to receive
digital signals. You can use both tuners at the same time via
picture-in-picture, or watch one tuner while recording on the
other.
The analog tuner (NTSC) has input for coax or S-Video. If you use
s-video, the audio is received by an adapter that plugs into a
mini-jack just below it.
The digital tuner is for receiving ATSC (OTA) or QAM (cable)
signals. It only has a coax input. If you go for OTA ATSC of course
you are subject to reception issues just like any other antenna.
Since it's digital, it really either works or it doesn't. If your
signal is strong enough you get a clear, beautiful picture. If it's
not strong enough, you get squat, or even worse a freezing
stuttering picture. I live in the suburbs and the antenna is in the
basement and I get most channels at 70-80% signal, but this is a
entirely dependent on your antenna and not this tuner.
This card also supports unencrypted clear QAM. Cable companies are
supposed to (and I think most if not all do) send local digital
channels on their basic service. So you should be able to watch
your local channels, but not premium channels like HBO since those
would be encrypted. Vista Media Center (and I think MCE2005 as
well) do NOT support QAM directly. The included AverMedia software
receives these with no problem, and Avermedia has a beta plugin
that enables it in Vista Media Center (google "clear qam in vista
media center" and its one of the first few that come up). However,
there are other options such as MediaPortal (for windows, this is
what I use) or MythTV (for linux, I don't use this but have heard
awesome things about it) which are both open source (i.e. free)
alternatives and support clear QAM.
If you are set on using Windows Media Center another alternative is
the HD HomeRun, an external unit that also supports QAM and does
show up in Media Center.
Other notes about this card, it is PCI-e and not PCI. All recent
motherboards have more and more PCI-e slots (less and less PCI),
but there isn't much to fill them with... Well, here is one. The
tuners on this card are physically *tiny*, especially compared to
the hauppaugge pvr-150 which has a huge NTSC tuner. All encoding is
done by the card, so it puts very little strain on your CPU
(watching HD content is another story).

(More customer reviews)We were so pleased
with this little TV that we bought a second one. We bought the
first TV for the kitchen. We bought the second identical model for
a shelf in front of our treadmill. We have not experienced the
"chirping" problem that two other reviewers described with either
of our TVs. The headphone feature when using it with the treadmill
is very nice. We also like the sleek, contemporary style.
We give this TV a 5 star rating. It met our expectations for a TV
this size and for the price.

(More customer reviews)If you are smart
enough to read these reviews before buying (you'll see the rest of
us were not...lol) then here is the low-down...
Pros: Relatively easy to install, good space utilization, good
functionality (probably too much for this application), decent
picture quality and sound
Cons: Will not process cable tv signal, strange signal delay when
using the remote, magnetic remote isn't strong enough to stay on
the fridge
THIS UNIT WILL ONLY PROCESS BROADCAST HDTV SIGNALS. It will NOT
process a cable tv signal so don't even bother trying.
Summary: I bought the unit and started to install it. But the
included "spacers" and mounting bolts were not sufficient to clear
the underside lip of my kitchen cabinets. So after cobbling
together some 1x2 rails, I finally had everything in place.
If you have average depth cabinets, there's not much space between
the back of the unit and the wall. You'll want a $5 right-angle
(90-deg) coax adapter to make hooking up the coax cable easier.
Once installed, and power on, we put in a DVD - all was well - and
played the radio - all was well. Then came installing the cable. I
ran a new cable from the middle of my attic to the kitchen -
drilling several holes in walls to get there. It took about 2
hours. When I hooked up the cable, I got the dreaded "No Signal"
message. Hmmm - okay, probably my DIY cable ends. I replaced both
coax ends, and switched the cables around on the splitter. "No
Signal." I completely removed the unit and hooked it directly up to
the cable from my main TV which I knew worked. "No Signal." So I
guess the unit is bad - which is really bad becuase we already
threw away all the packing and can't find the reciept!
So I get online. Low and behold, EVERYONE who bought this unit has
the same problem: This stupid thing doesn't process a cable TV
signal.
Well I can't take it back so i'm determined to get something out of
it. I run down to RS and buy a small, amplified HDTV antenna. I
install it high in the attic and hook everything back up. The TV
works fine. So now I have one TV with broadcast HDTV, which is
probably a good thing in case our cable goes out and we need to
know what's going on.
Apart from all that, my only complaint (so far) is the 1-2 second
delay between pushing a button on the remote and anything happening
on the unit. Irritating yes, but not a deal killer in itself.
So if you don't have cable (or don't mind not using cable if you do
have it) and want HDTV in your kitchen, this unit my suit your
needs.

to see if they would make a converter box so this would still work
after the US goes digital next year. Their response:
Thank you for contacting Kenwood USA Corporation. As an authorized
agent for Kenwood, we are responding to your recent email
inquiry.
The KTC-V300N is an analog only receiver; therefore after the
nation goes through the digital conversion it will no longer be
able to receive the TV broadcasts. Kenwood has announced that they
are working on a new mobile digital TV tuner. However they have not
released any information as far as a release date or model
number.

(More customer reviews)For years I had a
Sony CRT under cabinet TV for the kitchen. alas it died. The
AudioVox 7" LCD has some advantages and some deficiencies compared
with the Sony.
First of all the picture isn't as good. LCDs have limited viewing
angles. Off axis they are dark and/or lack contrast. Viewed from a
fixed position like on your desk or on your living room wall this
isn't much of a problem. You set it up once for your viewing
location and all's well. But a kitchen TV is not really watched
that way. You leave it on the Fox News or CNN and look at the
screen only when you hear some story come on. You tend to stand up
and move about in the kitchen so when you watch it you are usually
in some position for which the picture was not aimed.
So with a CRT TV I could just look at the little bright sharp
screen from wherever I was at the time. But with an LCD screen I
have to adjust it in order to watch it - every time. Even when
optimally adjusted the LCD isn't as good as the CRT was. I should
have gotten the 9" model.
The AudioVox however has a couple other excellent features. It has
an AM-FM radio. This is handy. It has a digital clock. Also handy.
It has a timer - very, very handy in the kitchen. The DVD player is
less useful but its ability to play CDs is nice.
I have it set up with NTSC (analog) cable and I miss the program
guide available on ATSC (digital) cable. I don't suppose that's a
fault of the unit but of my cable configuration.
It was a bit difficult to install because unlike a a regular TV
that you just set on a table, this one you have to mount under a
cabinet. This requires a little woodworking skill. The paper
template is meant to be placed on the bottom shelf of your cabinet,
but most electric drills are too tall to be used inside a kitchen
cabinet. This means you will have to drill from underneath. This
isn't an insoluable problem but it does take a bit of figuring. The
default configuration expects precise alignment. If the bolts came
up from the bottom rather than down from the top it would be lot
easier to install - but that would leave nuts on the floor of the
cabinet instead of just nearly flat bolt heads.

(More customer reviews)[This review is
based on experiences with the DHG-HDD250; the DHG-HDD500 is
identical, except that it is $150-$200 more expensive and has two
250GB hard disks instead of just one.]
If you're anything like me, you're likely looking at this Sony unit
because TiVo doesn't make DVR that can receive high-definition (HD)
broadcasts. (And the fact that TiVo has been dragging its feet on
HD is one of many reasons that the company is not long for this
world.) I bought the Sony DHG-HDD250 to replace my old TiVo box,
and although there a few small things I gave up in the process, I'm
mostly happy with my new Sony.
First and foremost: QUALITY. Watching live TV on the Sony unit is
*almost* as good as watching TV with my TV's built-in ATSC tuner.
The colors are slightly less-vibrant and there are a few more
compression artifacts, but this is to be expected, and not terribly
noticeable. Recordings are first-rate, and infinitely better than
any low-def DVR, VCR, or even DVD recorder. And with the HDMI
output, you can have a pure digital connection from the DVR to your
TV. Probably the only quality issue is the confusing "Format"
button on the remote, which allows you to stretch or shrink the
video to display correctly on a 16:9 widescreen TV. It works, but
it responds very slowly, is inconsistent, incomplete, and hard to
figure out. Why they didn't include a simple "zoom" feature (like
every TV on the planet) is beyond me.
THE INTERFACE. The menu system is not complicated, although not as
friendly and cheerful as TiVo (it's faster and sharper-looking than
TiVo, though). The Sony unit is much, much more configurable than
any TiVo, and that configurability comes at a bit of a cost. Be
prepared to read the manual to figure out how to record programs
and set up the channel list, for instance. Thereafter, many things
(like recording shows) are actually easier to accomplish (albeit
more difficult to learn) than on a TiVo. Example: in the Guide,
press and hold the Record button for one second to record a show.
Press Record again to record it repeatedly (same time, same
channel). That's it - no wading through multiple screens, like on
TiVo, to set up a simple recording.
THE GUIDE. The Sony uses the free TV Guide on-screen system (what
used to be called GemStar, I believe) to get program data (off the
air!) and display TV listings on the screen. This means you don't
have to extend a phone cord or network cable to your DVR; just plug
it in to your wall outlet, attach your antenna or plug in your
cable card, and leave the unit powered off overnight. Each night,
the DVR gets program data for the current day and the same day next
week, which means it'll take six days after you take it out of the
box before the listings will be fully populated. (Tip: listings
come from an analog station in your area, so make sure not to
exclude your analog stations from the listings until you find out
which one is broadcasting!)
The guide not bad, but not great, either. It's pretty easy to use,
but suffers from a few really idiotic design decisions. For
instance, there's no direct way (on-screen) to show the listings
for a different day (e.g., Tomorrow, next Wednesday, etc.), except
for holding the "right" arrow button on the remote to cycle slowly
through each hour of listings until you eventually end up on the
correct day. The only shortcut is to press some numbers on the
remote (e.g., 2 and then 4) and then select "hours ahead" from the
menu that appears to jump 24 hours into the future. In other words,
there's no "Tomorrow" or "Yesterday" buttons on the remote or on
the screen. And there are many little annoyances like this,
although it works okay once you get used to it.
But the DHG's guide also has some really nice features, such as the
grid (which TiVo never could manage to include on their units), and
even a keyword search; you can even save your searches! You can
also get alphabetical listings to find the show(s) you want, and
you can even filter the list to show only HD content, only movies,
only comedies, etc. Also, recordings can be grouped by show, so you
don't have to wade through a long list of recordings to find the
recorded show you want to watch.
SEASON PASS. One of TiVo's best (and simplest) features was the
Season Pass; I could tell it to record West Wing, and no matter
what time and on what channel it appeared, TiVo would record it.
Alas, the Sony unit DOES NOT HAVE A SEASON PASS feature; I don't
know why the folks at TV Guide couldn't get this simple feature to
work. You can have the DHG record multiple episodes of a show, but
ONLY if they're broadcast at exactly the same time and on the same
channel. If West Wing is an hour later one week, or if it's
syndicated on another station, the DHG will miss it unless you
manually ask it to record those episodes, too.
There are some other TiVo features absent from the DHG that I don't
miss at all, such as "Recommendations" (a feature that fills up
your hard disk with junk you don't want), and the "Thumbs Up" and
"Thumbs Down" buttons that are supposed to influence the
aforementioned recommendations (almost as effectively as TiVo's
marketing partners).
OVERALL. The DHG-HDDxxx is the only DVR on the market that doesn't
require an expensive digital cable subscription or satellite dish;
since I get all my HD broadcasts for free with a $20 rooftop
antenna, this was a must. It's also quite a nice unit; well made,
attractive, and it works well. If you want an HD DVR, you'll
probably be very happy with the Sony DHG-HDDxxx once you get used
to it's quirks.

(More customer reviews)The 722K, a dual
satellite tuner model, is virtually identical to the 722 except for
the following:
1. Noticeably better HD and SD picture quality than previous
generation ViP's. (ViP 922 is also reported to have noticeable
better PQ).
2. Different chip-set from previous generation ViP's are, among
other things, supposed to make it easier to work with Sling
functions and external devices yet to be released.
3. The optional MT2 OTA module allows for receiving and recording
up to 2 ATSC OTA local broadcast channels at the same time in
HD.
The interface of the 722K is exactly the same as the 722.
Operationally, it is identical to previous ViP boxes. The most
compelling reason to get a 722K and its greatest advantage is the
capacity for it to record up to 4 HD channels at the same time.
First, the 722K does NOT come with an ATSC OTA (for your digital
local broadcasts)demodulator installed--as is the case with
previous ViP's, but those can only receive ONE ATSC OTA channel.
For about $30, you can purchase the MT2 OTA demodulator directly
from Dish Network (if you are having it installed, the installer
can install the OTA demod), from an on-line Dish Network retailer
(usually less expensive), or from your local Dish Network retailer
in your neighborhood.
Since the 722K does not come with the MT2 pre-installed, you will
need to install it yourself, but it is an extremely easy thing to
do. Follow the directions that come with the MT2. All you have to
do is unscrew a covering, then gently slip the MT2 module into
place. DONE!
Now, you will need to connect the MT2 to an external antenna to
receive your digital local broadcasters. While an indoor antenna
may be used with mixed results, the best results are achieved by
mounting your antenna outside. Only ONE cable is required to be
input to the MT2, but that one cable will provide for 2 (TWO) ATSC
OTA tuners. Please go to your 722K menu to scan for your OTA's.
They will be displayed in yellow on the guide along with your other
channels. A strength meter displays for each OTA accessed using the
MT2. You may seamlessly access these channels for viewing or
recording just like any of your other sat channels, and they are
part of any search.
Now, you can record 2 satellite channels and 2 OTA channels all at
the same time all in HD, giving you an effective 4 HD tuner DVR.
This feature is extremely useful during prime time when the family
wants to record favorite shows on local TV and on satellite without
having to bump someone else's timer recording. If you subscribe to
Dish Local channels services, you can record all 4 major networks
(2 using the sat tuners and 2 using the OTA tuner) in Hi-Def all at
the same time.
IMPORTANT: Don't cancel your Dish locals via satellite service just
yet. While the MT2 and the 722K can record ATSC OTA channels
without a subscription to Dish locals via sat, there will be NO
program data displayed for your digital locals via the MT2:
"Digital Service" is displayed instead with no other information or
data. Without Dish local via sat subscription, you will have to set
manual timers to record via the M2T. It is a pain, but some people
do actually do this to save a few bucks. Yes, that stinks. However,
If you want guide data for your digital ATSC OTA's via the MT2, you
will need to subscribe to Dish locals via sat. However, the good
news is that the locals via satellite subscription is nominal
(about $6), and you can set timers from the guide just like any
other channels.
I have recorded 4 HD channels at the same time many times and even
had the 722K archive recordings to the external HDD, and I've never
experienced any problems.
Some more noteworthy features of the 722k that have been carried
over from previous ViP boxes:
* Archive to and playback from external HDD's. A one-time charge
(about $35) to activate this feature for ALL ViP's on your account
with this feature. External HDD's must have their own power
supplies. 1TB HDD is supported. You may have an infinite number of
external HDD's in your collection (at present only 1 HDD connected
to the box at one time). For example, you can have a seperate HDD
for movies, one for TV shows, one for little bobby's recordings,
one for your favorite recordings, etc., and you can archive from
one ViP, then connect that HDD to the ViP in another room and watch
it using that second ViP.
* Large capacity internal HDD allowing for over 55 hours of HD
programming.
* Picture-in-Picture feature in SINGLE mode (not available in DUAL
Mode)
* 1 Hour buffer for each tuner
* Organize your recordings by Folders using the name of the program
or create your own customized Folder titles (Mom's shows; Comedies;
what ever you wish)
* Rename individual recordings (Change the name of those
embarrassing titles or rename an incorrectly named recording
because a channel changed it programming at the last moment due to
sports or news events or plain stupidity).
* New, enhanced Dish OnLine services now organized by channel,
content, rating, etc. Now much easier to find your movies or TV
shows available on-line (presently on 722K's, but 722's will also
receive this update, unknown if earlier models will get this
enhancement).
The 722K really is the best DVR product out there (it would've been
the 922 except Dish is still working the bugs on that one). I own a
TiVo Series 3, and I do like it, but Dish ViP DVR's, overall, are
better than TiVo. In fact, the 3 tuner model of the Moxi is better
than even the new TiVo Premier. TiVo comes in at a solid #3 on my
list of best DVR's. The 722K is my favorite DVR in the house.

(More customer reviews)If you're too lazy
to do more research aside from looking at this page, then you may
be a bit surprised when you open the box. Here's what you need to
know:
1) This TiVo requires a CableCard. It does NOT work with your cable
box. It in fact replaces your cable box, so things like On Demand
won't work anymore. Cable TV companies are required by the FCC to
give you a CableCard on request, but they will likely charge fees
for installation and for using the CableCard. It also (at least for
me) can be a giant pain to get to a representative who can actually
help you. I wasted hours trying to deal with my cable company.
Also, try to get them to let you install it yourself, as it's
really, really easy and shouldn't cost you twenty bucks to have
someone else slide a card into a slot. Seriously, your blind,
senile great-grandmother could do this.
2) The TiVo DOES have an Ethernet jack on the back along with the
telephone jack. If you can use a wired network connection, then you
don't need to shell out extra for the wireless adapter. I'm now
returning mine to Amazon for a refund.
3) Lifetime service (totally worth it in my opinion) now costs $399
up from $299, but you can get it for only $299 with a multi-service
discount if you already have another TiVo. Even better, you can
resell your TiVo in the future with the lifetime service and
transfer the service to the new owner. You can't do that with a
monthly or yearly plan!
4) The remote is awful compared to the old remotes. Plus, they
switched around the buttons! It also now uses 4 AAAs rather than 2
AAs. However, old remotes should work with this TiVo, too. (I
haven't bothered trying.)
Nonetheless, don't let this scare you off. The TiVo HD XL is a
really solid product, and TiVo is definitely still the king of
DVRs. The XL is a bit pricey, but if you do the math, you'll
realize this is actually the best way to go. You really won't save
money or time by rolling your own or by buying the cheaper one and
attaching an external hard drive.

unit because the HDMI did not give a signal. The rest of the video
outputs worked occasionally. It is ashame that the choices for

(More customer reviews)I've had this TV
for about 6 months now and it's been great. Great picture with DVDs
and HDTV. If you don't plan on using this primarily for DVDs or HD,
then you won't be as impressed with the picture. It really does
depend on the source and the connections you use. My neighbor sells
home theater equipment for a living, he recommended this TV for
it's picture, and so far I agree with him. The delivery from amazon
was quick(about a week), the delivery company was very helpful and
curtious. So far an all around excellent experience.
My neighbor had a better deal on this TV but with the Shipping and
Tax it would have cost more.

Toshiba 57H84 57-Inch HD-Ready Rear-Projection TV
with HDMI Input
Toshiba's 57H84 HDTV-ready projection TV is well equipped to make
the most of your high-end digital and analog source components. The
57-inch set is as loaded with image technologies as it is with
connections and conveniences, thereby simplifying your home-theater
experience while also enriching it.The 57H84's exclusive PowerFocus
HD lens system was designed specifically for HDTV programming. Most
lens systems cannot faithfully reproduce a high-definition signal.
PowerFocus HD uses six elements and a quality color-correction
system to produce an image that is up to 65 percent sharper than an
image produced by standard lens systems. The PowerFocus HD's higher
beam current and finer beam spot provide a 30 percent increase in
sharpness and a 10 percent increase in brightness over standard
CRTs. Toshiba's four-element PowerFocus HC lenses offer 50 percent
higher contrast than comparable 5-element lenses, giving you clear,
deep, three-dimensional images.The set's TheaterFine HD super
fine-pitch screen uses a .52 mm design to reduce the space between
lines on the lenticular screen, which sharpens the image. And since
not everything you watch will be high-definition in origin
(wouldn't that be nice), CrystalScan HDSC upconverts all video
signals (including 480i/p) to 1080i HD. This significantly reduces
jagged-line artifacts for a smoother, more natural image.
(Selectable 540p, for those who want a progressive-scan image from
a progressive-scan source, is available through the onscreen menu.)
CableClear DNR+ Digital Noise Reduction circuitry--selectable by
input--optimizes poor NTSC signals from antenna or cable by
eliminating video noise (snow).Meanwhile, DFine high-speed
velocity-scan modulation improves the definition at picture edges,
creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube)
beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when
rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and
speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad
dark areas.A 3D Y/C (4 MB, 10-bit) digital comb filter with
Vertical Contour Correction processes RF and composite-video
signals for a sharp, clean picture. This advanced filter
significantly reduces detail noise, seen as shimmering or flicker,
in complex or intricate scenes. The TouchFocus digital convergence
system (which creates perfect corner-to-corner focus at the press
of a button) and AccuFocus 56-point manual convergence system let
you choose the best calibration method for your system. The 57H84 is
loaded with connections of all stripes, including a HDMI
(High-Definition Multimedia Interface) HDTV input, which gives you
a pure, uncompressed video connection with your DTV receiver or
set-top box (not included). HDMI supports standard-definition (SD),
enhanced definition (ED), or high-definition (HD) video, plus
multichannel digital audio--all using a single cable. It transmits
all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8-channel digital audio,
with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and
requirements. For audio, the 57H84 offers SRS WOW, combining SRS 3D
(which creates a wide three-dimensional sound field), TruBass
(which boosts bass frequency perception for dramatic low-frequency
effects), and Focus (which raises the perceived sound image
vertically to clarify voices) to greatly enhance your home-theater
sound. The set's split-cabinet design allows the cabinet to be
divided for ease of delivery and installation. What's in the Box TV,
cabinet (which splits into 2 sections with lifting handles for easy
delivery and installation), remote control, batteries, a user's
manual, and warranty information.

(More customer reviews)I've watched this
Toshiba thin bezel for over a month now and can now feel qualified
to post this review. I orginally had my eye on a SONY KDL-46XBR4
with it's attractive glass bezel, but the price stopped me. The
better idea was to have no bezel and all picture. I compared this
picture with the Sony, as well as, my last year's model Toshiba 42"
plasma and this 46" LCD is great.
The picture is so sharp that individual hairs on the Celtic Women
DVD through my OPPO's 1080p playback are easily recognizable. The
hues shadow casted by blue backlighting from the Shane Castle walls
is finally significantly noticable. Lisa's very very light blue top
on her gown is clearly identifiable from her pure white lower half
of her dress. This was never very distiguishable on any other
television before. Plaid lines on coats with the tightest weaves
can be seen on Lester Holt's NBC Today Show wardrobe. You can even
attribute the out of focus side images on the screen to the actual
focal length limitation of the studio cameras instead of your TV's
reproductions when they do tight-ins with food on embroidered
tablecloths. Now, even Jay Leno's makeup can't hide all his
blemishes and you can even identify all the birthmarks on his
guests during their close-ups on their interviews. You start to
really notice these things when you get a great HDTV and don't get
distracted by the picture frame bezel and screen reflections.
Lastly, the sports coverage in HD is so clear, it's like looking
through a pair binoculars from my season ticket holder's lower
level seats at FedEx Field, without the noisy and obnoxious fans in
the front seats standing up in front of me at the wrong times.
See the Toshiba Regza website to understand how they treat their
picture to get such realism. At the latest commodity prices, you
shouldn't be without this model of HDTV. It's much lighter than a
plasma and was easy to wall mount, too.

(More customer reviews)I am quiet
facinated by this product. It has a very good picture quality and
good resolution. The silver color lends elegence and the neck strap
antenea is really cool. Dont pay attention to the other
reviewer.......he has no reception.....so he may not have seen the
picture at all...........
It is quiet portable ( though you cannot carry it in your pocket) .
I have watched hours of programs including the WTC events/news and
am very satisfied with the product.
Sony should contemplate on coming up with a design which is more
portable. Including a FM/AM radio and a belt strap would make this
product an indefeatable monster.

Sony FDL-250T Watchman Portable Color LCD TV,
Silver
Sony's FDL-250T Watchman portable LCD television comes with a
2.5-inch active-matrix TFT (thin-film resistor) screen that
provides clear, color images and a range of viewable angles. When
folded, the device measures a mere 3.6 by 4.3 by 2.8 inches (W x H
x D), and weighs about a pound with its 3 AA batteries (not
included). It sports a flashy silver finish and a folding
design. The television is equipped with Sony's Straptenna neck strap
that lets you wear the TV around your neck. The 51-inch strap also
doubles as the unit's antenna, though you may also hook up an
optional antenna cable for even better reception if desired. A
built-in speaker delivers sound, while a monaural headphone jack
lets you plug in a pair of headphones (not included) for private
listening.Additionally, the FDL-250T may be connected to external
video components, such as a camcorder or a portable DVD player for
convenient viewing on the road (though not, of course, while

use a 3-ring minijack (.125-inch) audio/video connector such as
those supplied with most camcorders. The Watchman offers a DC power

behind a mountain or a tall building, inside a train or car, in
places subject to strong interference (as near a high-tension wire,
a neon sign, or a radio station), below air-traffic routes, in
underground shopping centers, tunnels, or in solid buildings. What's
