(More customer reviews)My construction
class recently bought two of these nailers because our compressed
air supply is too high pressure for nailers, so we use cordless or
a seperate compressor. I have used a pneumatic nailer on five roofs
ranging from small ticket booths to full sized play barns with
flashing, felt paper, drip edge, and more. I was skeptical about a
cordless nailer that did not use gas cells like a Paslode Impulse
system, but I realized that it takes a lot less force to drive a
nail through some shingles or a thin strip of aluminum than a 2x12
header. The jackhammer-style system takes some getting used to but
it does not require padded gloves like a demo hammer. As for the
nail cartridges, they are great. Our pneumatics constantly jammed
from misshapened and bent wire-collated nails. The cartridges keep
the nails in the correct shape.... This is the only roofing nailer
you will ever need, just get some cartridges of nails, a couple of
batteries, go up on your roof and start laying whatever is needed.
This is a great innovation. If you dont believe me, try Tools of
The Trade, they gave it a special award for innovation

(More customer reviews)Not a big ryobi fan
until I bought a 7 tool kit for $249 in 06. I was expecting a
sub-par codless tool, but was pleasently surprised. I am a
carpenter by trade(20 yrs) and have resorted to using this little
saw for almost all of my cuts for 2 reasons. 1. It is light as a
feather. It is cordless and It goes way beyond my expectations for
a little trim saw! Only bogs down in thick 2 inch material after
hours of use. I just couldn't be happier. With a sharp finish
blade, this saw is just unbeatable. The impact driver is also
amazing. It will go all day driving 2 and three inch screws and I
still had battery left after my co-workers makita went dead. I have
left it out in the rain and beat it up worse than any of my other
tools (because I was expecting it to fail and be a piece of junk)
and it just takes a licking and keeps on ticking. The only tool of
the 7 pack that I purchased which I haven't been impressed with is
the recip. saw. It drains your battery and is only good in a pinch
for a short amount of time. Other than that, I have had no problems
with any of the tools and I use them on a continuous daily basis. I
am not easily impressed, but my hat is off to ryobi on this
specific tool kit. I have rarley had any tool that lasts for 3
years of the continous use and abuse that I put it through. The
best part is that I only spent $250 for a 7 tool pack and have
gotten thousands of dollars of production out of them. Finally for
once, my expectations were exceeded.

(More customer reviews)I bought this
sprayer 3 years and 1 month ago (with a 3 year warranty) and
ironically enough it overheated on me and is now in the trash. I
was meticulous about cleaning after use and routinely cleaned the
filter. I am a woodworker/cabinet maker and used the sprayer about
every 3-4 months (not very often in my book). After contacting
Campbell Hausfeld, they said there was nothing that they could do
for me since I was 1 month out of warranty. In fact, they wouldn't
even pay for shipping to their nearest service center. As the
coversation progressed, I was subsequently informed that one cannot
even buy parts for the turbine (no wonder they wouldn't help me out
with shipping). Overall, I struggled with this sprayer every time I
used it and I've never experienced such poor customer service. What
a waste of 200 plus dollars! I'll never buy another Campbell
Hausfeld product.

(More customer reviews)We saw the Amana
French-door bottom-freezer fridge about a year ago and fell in love
with it. As it turns out, we have had a fairly mixed experience
with it.
I'll say that there are quite a few things that we like about it.
Overall, we like the layout and flexibility of this fridge a lot.
All of the shelves are adjustable to allow for customizing the
space for what we need. The layout makes the fridge feel bigger
than the other 25 CF fridges we've used or looked at. The quality
of the ice maker and water filtration is nice. I do find the
bottom-freezer a nice feature for our family. The best feature of
the French-doors for us is that they don't swing open as wide as
conventional doors, which is good for energy usage and for not
blocking passage through our tight kitchen. They're also convenient
when you have to grab something quick out of the door.
That said, after using it a while, there are a few things that we
don't like about this fridge:
1) After a few months of use, it started getting kind of loud. As
it turns out, this was the sound of the cooling fan dying. When it
finally died, we had no cold air in the fridge compartment. It was
still under warranty, but I wasn't happy about replacing the fan
after only about 7 months. (It's still occasionally louder than I'd
prefer, but most of the time it is OK.)
2) The water filter dispenser is on the inside of the fridge
compartment rather than on the outside of the unit. Combined with
the fact that its flow is a little on the slow side, it seems to me
that a lot of energy is wasted each time I have to leave the door
open for 30 seconds to get a glass of water.
3) The top cover of the Chef's Pantry drawer is not the highest
quality component. It pops off once every two weeks or so for me
(though, in fairness, my wife doesn't report this problem, so it
might just be me). It's easy to put back on, but something I don't
feel that I should have to worry about with a $1600 fridge.
Overall, we probably would buy the same fridge again. I'd probably
pass on the water filtration option until they figure out a way to
get access from the outside of the fridge. I'd probably also want
to make sure to get the extended warranty.

(More customer reviews)I am a contractor
and use this mainly for business and also for personal use at
home.
I've had this nailer for about 8 months or so and have never had a
problem with it. It's never misfired or jammed. I do not use it
every day so I cannot vouch for it's durability.
Overall I am very pleased with this nailer compared to reviews I've
read about others. It seems like there are just some defective
units around as is the case with all products.
I was so pleased with this gun, I bought the straight 18gauge
version of this one and have also had no problems yet.

(More customer reviews)This system has
lots of features and seems reasonably well-built. Radio reception
is mediocre especially on the weather band which is a definite
weakness but if you work with it, decent reception is possible. The
unit is big and heavy but having a built-in power system
necessitates a battery of this size. Otherwise, all features seem
to work as advertised.

(More customer reviews)First off, it's
really 2800-3000 watts continuous. Jaingdong model JD3000. It uses
a Jaingdong JF200 6.5 hp motor which is an excellent clone of the
Honda OHV engine (licensed from Honda). It is smooth, quiet, and
best of all pretty fuel efficient for a gasoline powered generator.
The generator is brushless and therefore really has nothing to wear
out other than bearings.
That's the good stuff...
Unfortunately, the Chinese pedigree does show in a few places. The
fuel gauge never worked on mine. The electrical components (circuit
breaker, meter, etc) seem kind of crude, but have held up OK in use
so far.
I've owned this generator for almost two years now and it probably
has about 40 hours of runtime. It had no trouble keeping us going
during several power outages, the longest of which was about 30
hours. It ran an oil furnace, refrigerator, TV/DVD Player, and a
few lights with no problem. The output voltage and frequency does
not sag under load. I feel it is sized just about right for the
load we place on it. A bigger generator would simply use more
fuel.
One tip that makes the generator much easier to start. Always turn
off the fuel petcock and remove the drain plug from the carburetor
to drain out the old fuel. Replace plug and turn fuel petcock back
on. Wait 30 seconds, flip on the choke, and it will start easily,
even when it's quite cold outside. Fresh gas does help a lot
too.
Overall, I think this is the best emergency generator value on the
market. I paid $299 from Homier, and thought that was an
outstanding price. I see they have it on sale for $219 right now.
It's an outright steal for that price!
No matter what brand of generator you buy, if you have it shipped
via UPS, or whatever, there is a chance it will have been handled
very poorly. Shipping companies folks don't like handling heavy
boxes and they tend to slam them around, roll them off the end of
loading docks, etc. The bottom of the support frame was bent on
mine, but was easily straightened. I would suggest planning to be
at home when the generator is delivered, and if at all possible
open the box before the driver leaves to document any possible
damage.

(More customer reviews)I borrowed this
unit from a friend to etch some glass for an architectural project
at home. I'd never done anything like that before but was pleased
that it did an excellent (and fast) job. I used clear contact paper
that I got at Ace hardware for the mask template. You can remove
the cut-outs either before or after you adhere the contact paper to
the glass, but for more complex designs like ours you really have
to apply the contact paper first and then cut the "to be etched"
parts out with an Exacto knife. It does generate a fine dust during
use so you need to use it in a garage or outdoors with a simple
doctors type face mask. The project turned out quite professional
looking and our friends are amazed. A great little unit!

(More customer reviews)The Porter Cable
FN250A finish nailer is one of the best tools I have purchased.
After spending many hours putting up trim in my house the old
fashioned way - drill hole, drive nail, then set the nail, this
nailer has made my life easier. You just hold the trim in place,
set the nailer where you want and pull the trigger! The nail drives
straight and properly recessed; it couldn't be easier since the
tool is very light weight and easy to handle. I highly recommend
this tool to anyone that is even the casual remodeler. I only wish
that I had bought this a few years ago!

(More customer reviews)Bought this
generator in case of a power outage to run my furnace along with a
few lights and possibly a TV. The unit appears fairly well-made,
runs pretty smooth and quiet and starts reliably so far after only
a few hours on the run-time meter. Unfortunately I didn't realize I
had to de-rate the power output of the unit for my elevation (6300'
above sea-level). I was pretty shocked to find out that engines
generally take about a 3 to 3.5% hit on power output for every
1000' above sea level. I didn't think it was that severe until I
got looking at it and never really thought about it much until I
bought this unit. Anyway, after doing some load testing here are my
results:
Loads were a small air compressor, a shop vac, and flourescent and
incandescent lighting.
Ambient temp = 33 deg F. @ 6300' elev.
Volts/Watts/Hz/PF
124.4/0/62.2/0(no attached loads)
113/170/61.7/0.84 (small lights here)
116/770/60.2/0.93 (shop vac on here)
112.5/1100/59.9/0.88 (more lights here)
114/1460/59.6/0.94 (more lights again)
108.7/2100/59.5/0.92 (air compressor on here)
102.6/2600/57.9/0.92 (more lights)
101/2600/57.1/0.93 (added some more small lights - basically turned
the rest of what I had on.)
On the second from last set of data, I believe the machine was
already at full throttle, but I didn't actually check this until
the last set. So, in my particular case, it looks like this
generator maxes out at about 2600 watts at my elevation which is
probably a little less than anticipated, but reasonably close. I
would rate it at 2000W continus w/ 2500W surge rating based on what
I saw where it's being used. I feel the governor controls pretty
well from the data above within the practical load range
considering the price of the unit. The voltage regulator probably
could be a little more stable at trying to maintain 120 V under the
various loads. I haven't tried to run the electronics/blowers on my
furnace yet, but I think it should be able to do it in an emergency
although I'll have to practice some load management between other
things using the electricity (like shutting off everything else
before starting the furnace). I originally intended to be able to
run with a little more "elbow room" and not worry about load
management as much but it looks like I'll need to have a generator
rated at least in the 5 to 6000 watt range to do what I want. If I
was at sea-level I probably wouldn't even be considering a larger
unit given the same electrical loads. I would recommed this unit to
someone considering it, assuming you have a good handle on the
conditions you'll be using it in. Unfortunately it isn't as
straightforward as one would like it to be.
