Halloween is a little different for children than it is for adults. Children delight in dressing up, and often want to emulate superheroes or their favorite television characters. They love to go trick or treating, and they often have parties with friends or at school. For adults, however, Halloween can be, and usually is, a little different. Adults like to dress up too, but their choice of costumes tends to be extremely different. Some like to go all out, while others like to add just a few special touches to their everyday wear to come up with something just a little bit Halloween. One great but subtle option for this is Halloween contact lenses.

When you think of Halloween contact lenses, don’t think about the type that just change your eye color from brown to blue or green. These contacts are specially made to give you a look not normally seen every day. There are so many different types of Halloween contact lenses to choose from, but you should be careful about where you buy them. All contacts are specially made, so it may be that not every set of Halloween contact lenses will be safe for you to wear.

Safety is a huge concern when buying Halloween contact lenses. If you have never worn contacts before, you need to know about eye health and safety. You can’t just slap them in and go about your business. You need to know how to insert them and take them out properly, as well as how to store them. Even if they are not for vision correction, they are still sitting on your eyeball, and need to be handled with care. For the most part, you can use Halloween contact lenses for one holiday and then you must throw them out. They should not be saved for the next year.

You can buy all types of Halloween contact lenses, and if you look around, you will find something that fits your style. There are Halloween contact lenses that will make your entire eye appear white, or you can get some to make it look like you have cat eyes. Just remember to buy them from a reputable place. Most people that sell corrective lenses will also have Halloween contact lenses as well. Not only will these be better for your eyes, they will tell you how to properly take care of your eyes, and tell you everything you need to know to wear them safely.

A great Halloween Gift is a costume. There are some costumes that people wear for Halloween that could be worn by both sexes, but there are some that are decidedly feminine. The women Halloween costumes can be worn by men, but it is done purely for a comical effect. What is fun about these costumes for women is that they can be just about anything, and range from a sexy to down right scary. Men have a lot of choices, but women seem to have the most from which to choose. Halloween is about fun and self-expression for adults, so have fun with what you want to wear.

If you intend to go with the scary, extreme halloween, you can do what you want and probably get away with it. These women Halloween costumes are often very fun, and can come from any point in time. There are some vintage ideas that have lasted through the ages, and are probably going to be big hits. Think about being Carrie with blood splattered over her head, or perhaps a cut up version of someone that everyone would recognize. These women Halloween costumes are not as common as you would think, so have fun with them if this is the way you go.

When it comes to sexy women Halloween costumes, remember that though you can show a lot of skin when you are going to be going to an adult function, you may not want to use this holiday to wear next to nothing. Sexy does not always mean showing a lot of skin, but rather, choosing very carefully what type of skin you want to show off. If you are going to a work function, perhaps wearing something super sexy and revealing is not the best idea. It’s a costume, but is that how you want your coworkers to see you for the rest of the year? It’s an image they may not soon forget.

Where you get your women Halloween costumes is up to you, but you have a lot of choices. You can get them from the department store and then customize them to be unique. You can also see what you can do on your own. At times, you can find some great components by browsing through your local thrift store. You can also find some very cool women Halloween costumes online that will probably be unique in your area. Some of the best ideas are the ones you can get when you go on the Internet.

My husband would tell you that if I wanted to be a witch for Halloween that I really don’t need a costume. He says this tongue in cheek, of course, but I’m not sure I find that to be very funny. For everyone else, witch Halloween costumes are definitely going to need more work and more imagination than that idea. The witch theme has been around for a very long time, and that means you have so many options that you may not be sure which way you want to go. Have fun with this one, and ignore the comments if your husband is anything like mine.

When most people think of the witch Halloween costumes that have been popular for just about forever, they often think of the witch from the Wizard of Oz. This powerful image about what a witch is has held on to our collective imaginations for a very long time. She had green skin, warts, and long, pointy fingernails. This is common for Halloween, but not always in the very same fashion. Most witch Halloween costumes have at least one of these things included however, making that witch one of the best known throughout the history of movies.

There are also some other common traits that many feel good witch Halloween costumes must have. One would be a broomstick, while some think a black cat and a pointy, black hat are must-haves. You don’t have to do anything that you don’t wish to do, however, so go with what you think. There is no law saying that you have to be an ugly witch anyway. Remember the good witch from the Wizard of Oz? You can go with any ‘good witch’ ideas that you have. Remember that you can also be a pretty bad witch if you want. That one is a lot of fun.

No matter where you look you are going to find witch Halloween costumes that you can buy all in one shot, or pieces that you can put together on your own. If you go with the green face paint, there are a few things you should consider first. You want to test the paint on your face first, as it could cause a breakout or an allergic reaction. You could dab some under your chin and leave it sit for a while to see what happens. If something happens, you can look online to see if you can find hypo-allergenic types of face paint to go with witch Halloween costumes, or go without.

Fun and Safety With Toddler Halloween Costumes

Though your toddler may not have any idea about what Halloween is and what they are supposed to do, many want to dress up just because they see their older brothers and sisters doing so, or they see other kids in the neighborhood. The problem with toddler Halloween costumes is that you have to think about safety as much as you have to think about style when you choose something for them to wear. Most of the time, it is best to go with the simple so you know they are not going to fall or even choke on something.

What is easy about safe toddler Halloween costumes is that most of them that you find in the store are going to be safe even from hot halloween lights. However, that does not mean you should not check them out on your own. Though companies are more and more aware that toddler Halloween costumes, and anything else for infants and toddlers for that matter, are expected to be safe, mistakes happen. Most are safe, but there are always some recalls of items when something happens. Check on your own for tripping and choking hazards before you buy.

If you are going to be putting together your own toddler Halloween costumes, you can find some good ideas if you look online. You may even find parts that you can use to make what you want. When you do these on your own, you are going to be responsible to make sure they are going to be safe. If you think they are going to be in a stroller while wearing the costume, you may not worry too much about tripping. However, it can still be an issue. Make sure there are no small parts that you have added which could be removed by a surprisingly strong toddler that can then be put into the mouth.

Another suggestion that goes along with the safety of toddler Halloween costumes would be that you should find away to make sure they are very visible if you are going out for trick or treat in the evening hours. There has to be some reflective safety tape or material on the costume so that they will be seen if they wander away. If you are using a stroller, put some on that as well. Drivers are always more careful on Halloween, but accidents can happen. Little ones are hard to see if they dart out into the street with or without toddler Halloween costumes.

Hosting a big Halloween event? Save money on wholesale Halloween party supplies!

Costume parties are traditional favorite theme parties, but Halloween tops the holiday costume party in popularity. You can pull out all the stops, being scary, funny or gruesome and disgusting, as you please. If you're hosting a Halloween party with a sizable number of guests, you'll surely want to tame that budget, using wholesale Halloween party supplies, as possible. Contrary to popular belief, you needn't be a business to enjoy wholesale prices. This means your budget can accommodate a greater number of decorations and spooky additions to your table and home. With Halloween, effect is everything!

How do you get these deep discounts? Simple. You Google 'wholesale Halloween party supplies' and follow any of the links to a range of choices beyond (hopefully!) your imagination. The only requirement for obtaining wholesale prices is that you buy in quantities. For example, if you buy a full box of plates, napkins or whatever, you can get anywhere from 50-70% off retail. This is worthwhile, because you can save any excess for next year, or donate some to a school or church function. If your guest list is large and you're serving buffet style, you'll probably use most of them. At least you won't run out!

Another advantage to shopping the wholesale Halloween party supply shops is that these vendors usually stock the largest number and variety of appropriately spooky supplies.

For example, you'll find everything in the way of props, from fake body parts to fog machines and way beyond to the scariest of torture devices! Sound effect tapes? You bet. Coffin props, evil masks, haunted house stage settings? Yes again. As for decorations, you'll find eerie centerpieces and tableware, suitably ghoulish candles, party favors and Gothic decor items.

If your taste is not in the bloody-butcher-demon-zombie category, or if you're hosting a kid's party, you'll find plenty of cute, funny or just a teeny bit scary Halloween decorations, as well as party games and Halloween T-shirts at the wholesale Halloween party supplies shop. You can also get inexpensive Halloween toys to use at a kid's party as favors. You can also lace your trick or treater basket with small toys and a few plastic creepy crawlers. One stop-shopping.

There are also plenty of Halloween party suppliers who offer discounts on single quantity items when your order reaches a certain dollar amount.

Once you start looking at these Halloween accessories and props, it's tempting to go all out. At wholesale prices, you can get a little looser with the budget and get items you can use for years to come.

All in all, shopping the wholesale Halloween party supply is the way to go for all of you Halloween enthusiasts. Boo!

What you may notice when you are out on Halloween night is that there are many teenagers out having fun. You may not think they should be knocking on doors and asking for candy, but they want to enjoy the holiday as much as they did when they were younger. There are certain types of teen Halloween costumes that are better off left on the shelf, or for an older age, but there are plenty of fun ones out there. No matter what your teen is planning to do on this night, you can help them find something cool to show off to their friends.

What is great about choosing teen Halloween costumes is their age. What I mean by this is that they are no longer afraid of some of the things that bothered them when they were younger. In fact, they may now love the scary stuff, and this theme won’t give them nightmares. They can choose something that is a bit out of the ordinary, and the scary theme is obviously one of the most popular. It is also the theme for teen Halloween costumes that has the most room for using the imagination to come up with something unique.

There are going to be a lot of kids that want to make up their own teen Halloween costumes. This going to be fun for them, and you can help them if you wish. You can help them design what they have in mind, and then help them put it together. The fun of this is that you get to spend time with them, and you can add your own imagination to the process. That means double the brain power going into some very fun teen Halloween costumes.

If that is not what your teen wants, you can take them shopping for teen Halloween costumes in your local area. There are usually some shops that open up with just those things in stock. However, you are going to find the biggest and best selection of teen Halloween costumes if you turn on your computer and go online. You are going to find things that fit their ideas of what they want, but more often than not, they are going to find something that they like even more than their original choice. As long as you approve of what they have chosen, they are going to be thrilled to find something they are pretty sure no one else will be wearing.

Saying Boo! properly: Create your own customized, chilling collection of spooky Halloween sounds!

Halloween is almost upon us. After costumes, decorations and candy, you're not ready to rock and roll your party guests and those little trick or treaters until you've assembled a custom repertoire of ultra spooky Halloween sounds.

Luckily, this is an easy project today. With Midi, Wave and Real Player formats, music websites and your PC, you're equipped to collect the creepiest, scariest, most ghoulish and spooky Halloween sounds ever, to scare the pants – or whatever - off your audience!

The online hunting grounds for scary sound effects is more than abundant and terrifyingly fruitful and frightful. You can find ready-made CDs of spooky Halloween sounds at reasonable prices, or you can opt for short clips you mix and mash into your own custom set of creepy, crawly Halloween sounds.

You may want to burn a couple of CDs, or compile two separate playlists. With all of the spine-chilling sounds out there, you've got to take it a bit easy on the children. You don't want them running from your doorstep empty-handed because they're too frightened to knock! Now, the adults are able to handle some of the scarier effects, so reserve those special sounds for your grownup – or teen – party events.

For the kiddies, you can compile a combination of spooky Halloween sounds and kid's Halloween songs. For example, a little Monster Mash sandwiched between wind, lightning crackles and ghostlike sounds straight from the cemetery gives them a good dose of scary along with a funny song to lure them to the door. Everyone leaves satisfied and properly frightened. The bubbling witch's cauldron is another kid's favorite. Do you remember 'If you're scary and you know it'? Make the kids laugh and scream before they haul away their treats.

Now, let's turn our attention to those teens and adults claiming nerves of steel. Oh, the possibilities are deliciously disgusting, frightening and altogether not funny. In fact, what you can do with sound clips will probably require a period of comic relief for your invincible guests. Perhaps the theme song from Ghost Busters or the Adams Family might get those brave hearts beating again, if only for the moment – hee-hee!

Here are just a few ideas you might enjoy. Now, the idea is that on Halloween, the spirits of the dead, demons and goblins are all let loose to do and say as they may. Such a night should get the neighborhood dogs, cats and werewolves howling. Get some such clips in your bag of tricks. If you've got a dramatist in your circle of friends, set them to work on blood-curdling screams, frightful groaning sounds and Exorcist-style gibberish. Record it all and get to editing your custom mix of spooky Halloween sounds. The demon-possessed gibberish, played at a volume clear for all to hear, may be followed by a startlingly louder crash of thunder and spine-tingling, hair raising crack of lightning. Now you're cooking!

Halloween is the ideal holiday occasion for admirers of the scary, horror movie genre. With scary movies and horrifying special effects, some of these folks think they're scare-proof. However, advances in technology have kept pace with the movies, such that truly scary Halloween costumes are within your reach. Let's look at a few ideas you can use to scare the pants off these smug people.

Masks are an essential element of the scary Halloween costume. Plastics technology has evolved to a point where one must question reality. Some of the masks available today are so realistic, your movie-jaded friends might well be shocked and afraid. They'll think you do indeed know what they did last summer. Perhaps worse yet, they'll believe you're a movie nightmare come true. The best scary masks are the high tech ones, with the look and feel of a nightmarish face composed of skin, bones and maybe a few maggots for good measure. A mask can make or break your scary Halloween costume.

All scare movie fans know that clowns are associated with serial killers. Such clowns are not the funny Ringling Brothers types. They are morbid, obsessed and entirely scary characters. You can capitalize on this notion with an appropriately deviant clown costume. The mask is supremely important in pulling off this scary Halloween costume, but the devil is also in the details. A little fake blood on an otherwise innocent costume never hurts, and a fake hunting knife tied at the waist helps your gruesome image too.

Attending a Halloween party as a head on a platter is sure to evoke distaste from the most hardened of horror fans. Here's how it works: Find a cardboard box that's just large enough for you to be comfortably seated. Carefully cut a hole that allows you to stick your head through the opening. Use face paint to make you look as though the worst has been done. Think killer dentist, psychopath with a drill, that sort of thing. Cover the box with a satin tablecloth and arrange food around your head. This scary Halloween costume is best displayed at the entry to the party.

Latex body suits are ripe with possibilities. While you can find an ordinary latex body suit intended for Halloween use, you can embellish these with all sorts of gruesome additions. Stab wounds, fake blood of the most realistic sort and plastic bugs permeating the suit are a sure sign of disgusting and horrifying imaginings.

Last, but not least is the headless Halloween costume. Remember the Legend of Sleepy Hollow? The trick with this costume is to hide your real head, while holding a reasonable facsimile.

If you're intent on a scary Halloween costume, you've got to be willing to go the extra mile and put those scare fans in their place!

You want to be easily identifiable, with your true identity anyone's guess.

The femme fatale is a popular celebrity costume genre. Take Marilyn Monroe, or perhaps Paris Hilton. Marilyn would require red lipstick, a short blond wig you'd style and a 1960s glamor girl dress with wide skirt and dainty heels. Among the femme fatales, Paris might require nothing more than lingerie, the wig and plenty of pink lipstick and mascara, if you have the nerve. Otherwise, you can go for a sun dress. Here's a good one: Governor Sarah Palin is now a celebrity politician. Early 1950s eyeglasses, a navy suit and a 1950s bouffant. Easily replicated and identified! Arguably the top pick quick Halloween celebrity costume idea.

You can whip up in an afternoon!

Life sometimes puts way more on our plates than we can manage. Just as you're recovering from back to school frenzy and are reintegrating driving kids here and there for after school activities, Halloween is upon you before you know it. If you've got a few kids to costume up, it can run into some money. If you're short on time, money or both, here are five quick easy Halloween costumes you can make yourself in just a couple of hours. A trip to the dollar store for a few nifty accessories and you've got some happy trick or treaters. These costumes are a hit with young children.

The quintessential quick easy Halloween costume is the ghost. Yes, the plain white sheet is the main part of this costume, but your ghost needn't be a plain Jane or Joe. This is a styled out ghost, cool as can be. Arrange the sheet over the child so that it's evenly distributed by length and width. Ask the child to point to each eye – they think this is silly and it adds to the fun. Take a marker and draw circles, big enough for clear viewing. Trim the hem as necessary. Pin armhole openings, loose enough to allow easy movement. Remove the sheet. With a glue gun, attach sequins or beads around the eye holes and day-glow stickers everywhere. Stitch the armhole openings. You're done!

Your little princess will feel like a real Princess in this quick easy Halloween costume. You can find the basic dress at a thrift shop. Look for a special occasion dress. Let your child do the choosing of color and style. A stop at the fabric shop will yield all the trims, lace, appliques and satin flowers you'll need to make this dress truly special. A rhinestone tiara completes the picture perfect Princess costume.

Little girls invariably want to be an angel at least once! Again, it's easy to find a white, special occasion dress at thrift shops. The fabric shop supplies more adornments. Use a spray adhesive to make sprinkles of glitter stick, as desired.

SpongeBob Square Pants(TM) is a funny looking guy popular with boys. All you need is a rectangular cardboard box and some acrylic paint. For authenticity, Google an image of this character. Mark the eye and mouth openings and paint away. This quick easy Halloween costume goes faster when your child participates in the painting, which he'll want to do!

A pair of jeans, a plaid shirt and a few dollar store accessories are all you need for the cowboy or cowgirl costume. With a hat, six-shooter belt and inexpensive boots, your kid is ready to rustle up some treats!

No matter which of these quick easy Halloween costumes you choose, attach reflective, glittery or glow-in-the-dark doo-dads for safety's sake. A little imagination and a few hours is all you need for a Happy Halloween!

Small children often have a very strong opinion about what they want to do when it comes to all aspects of their lives. What is fun about kids is that they can change their minds very quickly, and when they do, they leave no doubt about what they want and why they have gone in another direction. They find holidays fun, but that does not mean they look at them like we do as adults. We may think fancy costumes are fun, but they may be perfectly happy with something like printable Halloween masks.

They may want a costume for the night of Halloween, but there are others days around the holiday when they want to go with something simple. There are always parties as school, and printable Halloween masks can be great for this. It can even be a class project. Teachers can come up with or find ones that they think are suitable for their class, and then the children can choose from among those printable Halloween masks. They can print them out, color them, and then have fun at the party.

Printable Halloween masks can also be a great way to learn about things in school around this holiday. There may not be a lot of history to go over about Halloween, but the masks can be about just about anything. You can have zoo animals, and that can turn into a lesson. This is not just something that children can do at school, however, as printable Halloween masks can be fun for children who are not yet of school age, or for those that are home schooled by their parents. These can be for a fun break, or to teach lessons in fun ways when the material may be a little dry.

Don’t think of printable Halloween masks as the color in type. Though those exist and are a lot of fun, there are others that come in full color. Themes for these are often targeted for children, but there are some great ones out there that adults may have a lot of fun with, even when it is not Halloween. There are printable Halloween masks that feature celebrities, politicians, and other people of general interest. They can also be used when children have a party other times of the year for dress up. You can find fairy princess, firefighter, police officer, or just about any other popular figure that child want to pretend to be.
