Summary: Guide To Detailing
To Shine & Protect
Choosing the best car cover for outdoor use can be confusing. You
might believe that a cover made for outdoor use would be
waterproof, but that's not always the case. To people in the
business, "outdoor" really means that it will protect a vehicle in
light weather conditions. Waterproof means something completely
different. A "waterproof" [...]

The cost of a new luxury sports car, sedan or coupe is
skyrocketing. Proper care is imperative to retain as much value as
possible. While the condition of the vehicle is most important at
trade-in time, every luxury car owner needs to be aware that the
cost of reconditioning a vehicle is far more expensive [...]

Did you know that protecting your car, truck or SUV with a custom
car cover can bring you 15% or more money at resale? According to
my research on Kelly Blue Book, that's the average differential
between vehicles in "good condition" versus those in "excellent
condition." It needs to be considered by every new vehicle [...]

I've been a very faithful car cover user since the late 70's when I
had my screaming yellow Opel GT. Do you remember that little car?
It didn't have much go power, but it was fun. In 1991 I had the
misfortune of having my Porsche 944 Turbo liberated from my
ownership while parked in [...]

This morning I received an email from Michael in Huntington Beach,
California asking me for my advice on which car polisher he should
buy. He said "I really wanted the Meguiar's G110v2, but it has not
been available and the price rocketed up. Is the Porter Cable
7424xp just as good?" It's interesting to me [...]

you know how many [...]

scrubbing. Since you need to wax, it's okay to [...]

A few months ago Amazon.com broke ties with California affiliates
in response to a new Use Tax collection law signed by the
California State Legislature and Governor Jerry Brown. As a result,
the Guide to Detailing site lost its funding support. I'm pleased
to announce that our product catalog has new representation through
eBay and [...]

I got an interesting question the other day from my friend Ray. He
started detailing cars on the side a few years ago using a bunch of
supplies I needed to clear out of the garage. Now completely out of
waxes, polishes and sealants, Ray asked "Hey, what's the difference
between car care products?" "Not [...]
