Jay Rock released his official “Code Red video” off of his latest “Follow Me Home album” which is in stores now. This joint features Kendrick Lamar as well as production from Phonix Beats and is the second track on the album. Lyle Wayne and Top Dawg Ent. bring you this latest video with Chris Martinez. I really liked the “Say Wassup video” that they did with the entire Black Hippy group to kick start things. Now the Strange Music representative is back with another banger and is showing you that his latest project is pretty damn consistent.
In case you missed it, Kendrick also recently released his official “ADHD video” which turned out really solid as well. Anyways, another track I really liked off of Jay Rock’s recent release featured Kendrick and is called “Hood Gone Love It.” Hopefully you’ve had time to check up on this project and support if you liked what you’ve heard. I included a download link that will take you to his album on iTunes where you can cop this track as well as others or the complete project if you missed it’s initial release.
Anyways, since I did already write a review for Kendrick’s latest album, I might also follow suit for Jay Rock’s project if I have enough time. I know everyone is currently waiting on a project from Black Hippy, but in the meantime, appreciate what’s already out. There are projects available online by Jay Rock, Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, as well as Ab-Soul. I’m pretty sure they have something in the works and the chemistry is there. I like that they aren’t afraid to collaborate more than the average artist because they always turn out to be really dope. Anyways, enough said – check the video out and see what you think.
TweetWALE (We Ain’t Like Everyone) just released the official “That Way video” featuring Jeremih and Rick Ross… This is off of the Maybach Music Group “Self Made Vol. 1 album” which is in stores now. A short while back, you should have gotten the WALE Eleven One Eleven Theory mixtpae as a prequel to his upcoming “Ambition album.” Anyways, I like everything I’ve heard from MMG recently. On this particular track, I’d have to say that Jeremih gets MVP for that smooth-as-hell chorus, but they all make quality respective contributions.
I think that the video above turned out to be really quality. I’m actually glad they went with this track because it showcases the fact that they can make smooth classy music and not just street bangers like “PacMan“… Musically, I’ve got to give Rick Ross a lot of credit for organizing the team and making MMG a heavyweight group in the game. Really even Meek Mill has been putting out some great music lately like the “Dream Chasers Mixtape” and Pill has been on the grind with “The Diagnosis” project. Oh and did I mention the fact that Ross has the underground (super dope) Stalley in his lineup…
Yep, Stalley released his “Chevys & Spaceships video” just about a week or so ago and it turned out really sick. Anyways, since you probably want some lyrics to go along with the video above, I figured I’d hunt some down make sure they are legit, and post em up so that you can read things over and follow along while you watch. I’m looking forward to hearing Folarin’s upcoming album this November, his debut was really solid.
JEREMIH (CHORUS)
I apologize I dont recollect your name
But lemme tell you that them heels really complement your

Girl lemme get them ooh aahs then I gotta catch my plane
Say ya miss me and ya wishing for some private time

WALE (VERSE #1)
Look another day another dollar she hate me when I leave cuz when
I leave I never call her
That’s life shit alright shit I could call you right quick
But if I call you gone be like boo why we haven’t skyped yet?
And on Skype bet you say Le where my flight at if I decline
Then you inquire on where I spend my nights at
Shit this life gets overwhelming and more then hectic
But a woman worth some anger is certainly worth some effort
Just look closer my life is quite deceptive women will sell they
soul just to buy some attention
I need something to hold fuck that passive aggression
And when I’m back from off that road dont ask me no questions
Please fear what you don’t know…

WALE (VERSE #2)

CyHi Da Prynce just changed his name to CyHi The Prynce… Okay I can rock with it. Anyways here his is with his newest official “Jack of All Trades Mixtape” featuring DJ Scream and DJ Spinz on the drops (two of my personal favs… HOODRICH, you already know what it is). As of late, CyHi has been on a mad tear with these tapes… In case you haven’t got his last tape, he released the “Royal Flush 2 mixtape” which I thought was really damn good. Before that he dropped the O.G. “Royal Flush Mixtape” which was also dope. My favorite song from that project was “Ring Bellz.” I honestly think though, that this one, Jack of All Trades is his best yet.
If you don’t like this tape right here, I honestly don’t know what to say other than you probably don’t really like CyHi. I think that he did an incredible job with this tape and what’s even better is that I wasn’t expecting this to drop at all. In fact, I’ve got to clear some hard-drive space and/or upgrade my computer so that I have space to stay up to date with all of this crazy dope hip hop music that has been dropping lately.
I cannot emphasize enough the fact that his instrumental choices were flawless for this one… I give him an A+ for instrumentals on here – you really can’t go wrong with “Bout It Bout It”… even though Curren$y’s version is better. Anyways, the introduction was cool, the interludes were even on point. So if you want to stay up to date with a super dope project, scroll down below for the official download link. Oh and one last thing, when is CyHi going to drop an album? Even if he dropped an EP I’d probably cop provided he keeps up his knack for choosing solid instrumentals.

Yelawolf is here with his official “No Hands video” off of his upcoming “Radioactive album.” The video was inspired by the Driver San Francisco video game presented by Ubisoft. The video was shot and recorded at several of San Francisco’s landmark locations. It features Yelawolf driving a real life version of the “Driver” car from the video game throughout the city in the bay area. This is basically like a cross promotional video since the game isn’t out yet. The game is set to be released on September 6, 2011 if you think it looks cool enough to get. I’m thinking this song should be on the soundtrack… but I could be wrong. Anyways, it’s been awhile (see the “Good To Go video“) since I last posted up some new Yela.
As of now if you want to get a copy of this track, I suggest checking iTunes. I know that he “accidentally” released it for download on Twitter for his fans and shortly after he deleted his Twitter account. It’s cool to see him rocking with the Shady Records label and I’m definitely hoping that there’s at least one Eminem collaboration on his album… or Slaughterhouse… or both. Anyways, I bought his first “Trunk Muzik: 0 to 60” and thought it was cool, but I know he’s capable of doing a lot better.
At the end of the day though, I’m a fan and supporter of Yela. I’m pretty sure he released the song “Gangster of Love” featuring CyHi Da Prynce as his first single from the “Radioactive album” and this is the follow up, but I could be wrong. As I’m reading more about Yela, apparently this album is going to be his official “debut” and that I can respect even though there were hard copies in store of his other. Anyways, the video was directed by Eric Peyton – I think he did a solid job and the video turned out really well. Whether you liked it or not, there’s really no denying that this is one helluva single.
TweetThe-Dream just released his official “1977 Terius Nash album” for free download for his fans. There are a total of 11 new tracks for his fans to enjoy. Originally he had wanted his upcoming album entitled “The Love IV: Diary of a Mad Man” to be released on his birthday (September 20th). However, something changed and he’s not able to release it on that date. In fact, it is set to get pushed back to the fourth quarter of 2011 a.k.a. November or December. So in the meantime, he decided to hook the fans up with this project to enjoy for free – definitely a classy thing to do. Plus what’s really dope is that all the files are in .M4A ready to be dragged right into your iTunes library…
As you should already know, he did the song “Murderer” which is featured on the upcoming soundtrack and trailer for the movie Colombiana. I’m glad to see a feature from Big Sean on the track “Ghetto.” There were a couple of features from Casha (who I’m not familiar with), but I’m actually most looking forward to hearing what kind of music The-Dream came up with for this one. There’s no denying that he’s one of the most vocally talented singers in the R&B game these days.
I’m hoping that his album comes through with some bangers. To this date, my favorite project by him still has to be the “LoveHate album” but I really thought there were a couple great slow jams on the “Love Vs. Money album” too. So if you haven’t already checked up on this project, I suggest you get with it below. I posted up the direct download link as well as the official tracklist for you to check out. The album artwork in Bronze looks legit as well. I’ve been listening to the project as I’m writing this post and everything I’ve heard sounded great. Definitely a free “album” right here and not a mixtape… Is this becoming the trend? Be sure to lookout for his next album and go support when the time’s right if you’re a fan!
1. Wake Me When It’s Over
2. Used To Be
3. Long Gone
4. Ghetto feat. Big Sean

Big K.R.I.T. is here with his new official “The Vent video” from his “Return Of 4 Eva” soon to be released as an album on the same date as J. Cole’s project. Anyways, K.R.I.T. (King Recognized In Time) is always putting out good music for the people and that’s why I’m a big fan. He’s from Mississippi and has been really carrying the state on his back over the course of the past year or so. He was recently featured in the 2 Chainz “Pimps video” with Bun B and put out the “Last King 2: God’s Machine mixtape” to give you some awesome unreleased material before his album drops.
What I like about this song “The Vent” is that it’s dedicated to the passing of his grandma, who played a huge role in making K.R.I.T. the person that he is today. This is real music, raw emotion, and it demonstrates his talent as an artist. Although he definitely has some more upbeat bangers, he is definitely not afraid to showcase his skills and stay underground. People are starting to come full circle and realize that they should be looking out for more from K.R.I.T. and should definitely get ready for his debut album.
I linked to his download page on iTunes so that when it does hit iTunes, you can support. The project “K.R.I.T. Wuz Here” is out for you to cop as well as some of his singles. I took the time to compile, edit, and include the lyrics below and video above. Hopefully you like what you have heard and feel free to read over the lyrics while you’re watching the video. Better than the majority of rappers these days, and definitely a freshman to stay up to date with.
A mother lost her child I tried to ease her pain it’s only God’s
will she says she felt the same
It’s funny how the sun will up and battle rain as if the clouds
couldn’t stand to see me outside again
Wrote a rhyme that was kind with some vision to it
Bottom line it might expand your mind if you listen to it
Too much shine can dull the soul if you feel how I feel then I’ll
rap some more
How can the devil take my brother if he’s close to me
When he was everything I wasn’t but I hoped to be I get a little
honest and I ask myself
If the time come, will you save me if I ask for help
Sent my mind on a journey to the outter most to document what it
had seen and cc me the notes
And ask Kurt Cobain why cuz I need to know he stopped when he had
such a way long to go
I saw love in the eyes of a perfect stranger she overlooked my
caring heart in search of a gangster
Will we ever be together only time will tell
She call my phone and talked to me as her eyes would swell
I put my problems in a box beside my tightest rhymes under lock
and key buried deep off in my mind
And when it gets too full and I can’t close the lid I spaz on my
family and my closest friends
Trade my materials for peace of mind I am so close to heaven hell
I just need some time
Who cares about life and the highs and lows maybe I should write
another song about pimps and hoes
Cars and clothes idol gods golden calves Louis scarves I do this
for the love and it’s free of charge
I don’t need jail to be behind bars this is purely art in my
grandma’s household this was surely taught
Don’t be naïve, yeah, these times is hard in the mist of all the
glamour I hope you find God
I never wished to be the burden bearer but souls need saving and
it’s now or never
Shock value is all they wanna see it’s us against them and it’s
just you and me
Trying to take heat what I say in my songs forgive me if I ever
ever steered you wrong
Most people stop for signs but I driven through it if it don’t
touch my soul then I can’t listen to it
The radio don’t play the shit I used to love or maybe I am just
growing up
I never seen a star on a red rug if I wanna see stars I just look
above to the heavens
OUTRO:
I know you’ve been down so long so I’ll be stronger for you
I know you’ve been down so long cuz I’ve been down too
Yes I understand what you’re going through
Yes I understand cuz I’m going through it too
I pray that you find your way and all things old become new
I pray that you find your way for my sake cause I’m lost too
Yes I understand what you are going through
Yes I understand cuz I’m going through it too
I lost my friend this morning woke up screaming her name
She meant so much to me I’m scared I won’t be the same
Hope you understand what I’m going through
Hope you understand when I call out for you, to vent
Young Jeezy is here with his new official “Do It For You video” featuring Freddie Gibbs a.k.a. Gangsta Gibbs. Word is that Jeezy is going to drop a new mixtape with DJ Drama as a follow up to “The Real is Back” tape. His upcoming “Thug Motivation 103 album” has a scheduled release date of September 20th and I’m personally hoping that the date does NOT change. I’ve been a huge Jeezy fan since his original tapes like “Trap Or Die” and “Can’t Ban the Snowman” – both of which still get rotation in my iTunes library to this day.
I do like the fact that Jeezy signed Freddie Gibbs, this was a very smart move as far as I’m concerned. Additionally it was beneficial for Freddie Gibbs because he gets more exposure as a result of Jeezy already having a large established fan base. I think that Freddie Gibbs has been amazing from the first time I heard him rhyme and he keeps getting better. Glad dude made it out of Gary, Indiana – I have witnessed how tough the living conditions are there. Believe me, it’s one of the worst places to live in the U.S. with all of the Steelworker Mills there…
The video above was directed by Decatur Dan, which is definitely dope. I think he did a good job with it. Anyways, I’m not sure what to expect as far as a tracklist is concerned for the upcoming album, especially since a mixtape (“The Real is Back 2“) is going to be pushed before it. In my opinion, I think that since all these artists are doing collaboration projects, Jeezy and Freddie should considering either doing some collaboration tapes or even an album together if the vibe is right. The song “Stripes (Run DM C)” was pretty damn solid as well.
Anways, I did check iTunes for an official download for this track and all I could find was “Shake Life” and the song “Ballin (feat. Lil Wayne).” I personally really liked “Lose My Mind” and am wondering if that joint and “Jizzle (feat. Lil Jon)” are going to make the final product since they were released as official singles and are available for sale… TM 103 is on its way so mark your calendars for the 20th! CTE stand up… go support when the time is right. I need some more Jeezy “yeaaaaaayh” adlibs in my life.
TweetLil B Based God is here with his new official “I Forgive You Mixtape” which you can download for free if you’re a fan of the #Based movement. I haven’t listened to this project yet, but I’m definitely going to take the time to bump this after I’m done listening and possibly reviewing “Tha Carter IV.” Anyways, with this project, you get 12 exclusive tracks from the Based God. I did write up a “Lil B – I’m Gay album review” awhile back and thought that he was trying his best to keep it positive. I like his direction and message to the people, but definitely rock with his ignorant stuff more than his newly founded conscious ways.
I think he can improve at becoming a conscious lyricist if that’s his goal though. Throughout the past month or so, he did drop a slough of videos including: “Need My Love,” “Where Dem Based Boys,” “RIP The Rap Game,” and my personal favorite “Bill Bellamy.” The artwork for this project was absolutely hilarious, which is typically is when it’s coming from the god himself. I have been somewhat frustrated with my YouTube subscription lately to his account because it isn’t forwarding me the videos that have been dropping.
The reason I haven’t been posting like a fiend lately here is because I’m waiting for a re-index of my site into Google. It got hit with a little penalty a couple weeks back because I was linking to some of my personal sites so that my friends and the people here knew what was up. Anyways, I learned that you can’t really be doing that or you might get a penalty. Anyways, the official tracklist and download link are below for those of you that are supporters of Lil B.
Don’t let the download link confuse you either just because it’s through LiveMixtapes. All you have to do is either Facebook it or Tweet it if there is no countdown timer. Then just enter some CAPCHA stuff and you’ll be good. The second track “I’m In The Streetz” is a solid banger with his classic slow offbeat flow. In short, if you’re a fan, you’ll need this in your #Based collection.
01. Lil B – Tonight (4:15)
02. Lil B – I’m In The Streetz (3:58)
03. Lil B – I Forgive You (3:34)
