More replies to post/request for feedback in yesterday's news. I'd posted a request for reader feedback after a couple posts from (1819 firmware IIRC) barefoot SSD owners that said they'd seen significantly lower runtime immediately after the SSD upgrade. (But as mentioned yesterday - no details on usage/settings, etc. which are a major factor.)

See post - a Mac Pro (2008) owner with sony/optiarc AD-7170A DVD drive said he wasn't able to mount the Digital Copy Disc in the new Star Trek release. However the disc mounted fine in another Mac... Had another reader reply he's seen the same thing. (The only problem I've had with digital copies was a S/N issue with some $5.88 DVDs from a big box store - SN had to be converted to a new number to work.)

I've added another reader report on a free (out of warranty) repair to the PowerMac G5 Coolant Leaks/Repairs . This is the 2nd (that I recall, maybe more) report from someone that was _not_ the original owner as well.

I'm sure you've already seen this (all over the web) but for any readers with an Atom cpu based Netbook, there's now a Patched mach_kernel for Atom-based netbooks to run OS X 10.6.2. (Although I never bought one myself, I was tempted to run OS X on a Mini netbook as tons of people have.)
