Microsoft recently extended the expansion of the 3 year warranty to cover the error E74, in addition to the Xbox 3 red lights error. So if your system is still under warranty, then you can send to Microsoft to fix.

Before I get started, I would like everyone to know that I got this for both PC and X360 and I will discuss the specs for each.
 
Installation – Installed in about 10 to 15 mins to the 360 took about a 1/2 an hr for both my desktop and my Macbook Pro in bootcamp.
 
Graphically speaking, the game looks great on my desktop. I am running a 256Gb Overclocked Nvidia 8600GT so i can run most setting on medium to high with little slowdown.
 
Surprisingly, the Xbox’s graphics are a bit disappointing. Some of the colors are muted and some of the faces look a bit mashed and when doing cut scenes there is quite a bit of jitter and when there are many things going onscreen at once, the frame rate takes a hit. And that’s bad considering how great Mass Effect looked 2 years ago and this is keeping in mind that again, I installed this game on my 360’s hard drive.
 
On the Macbook, (Nvidia 9400M) it runs ok with all the settings down low and actually looks pretty ok despite the settings, but it’s what I expected. I installed it on the laptop because I will be traveling quite a bit during the holidays and I don’t want to drag my 360 everywhere I go! I do plan to boost the onboard RAM and I am hopeful that it will help the game run a bit better.
 
Camera-wise, the PC has the best option in that you can go from a 3rd person POV to an over world tactical view which lets you plan on where to move next and formulate your fight plans.
 
Control wise, while the PC has superior controls (as most PC RPGs do anyway) surprisingly the 360 manages to keep everything organized and easy to find using the control pad but still it’s a shame if you are using a mage you are still limited by key assignments where you can place your most used spells.
 

Now, playwise, (***Warning there will be spoilers!***)I am using a male elf mage on the 360 and a female Human warrior on the laptop. I put this in detail for the very reason to test what I have read so far in that NPCs will treat you different ways and indeed they do! In some areas people will indeed talk down to the mage because he is an elf as elves are the minority in this game and in the other instance many will be shocked that a woman is also a warrior. Thank you Bioware for putting these issues in this game. I have actually gotten to see at least one character react differently to these 2 characters of mine and expect to see more!
 
One thing I have noted so far is that the mage’s origin story takes a little longer to play as that character has to go through an initiation phase to become who he sets out to be and this is even before he is set to become a Grey Warden and something tells me that within that portion, will play itself out later on in the game! As for the choices you make early on much of the mage’s story concerns himself with another apprentice there and his breaking of the rule while in training to become a mage. This storyline gives you a taste of the 1st major decision that will set the game in motion and when that section finishes you will be in for a bit of a surprise and the payoff is nice indeed for it to be so early!
 
The Warrior origin is a bit more straightforward and shorter and involves a family betrayal which winds up in murder. The decision that you make here determines which companion will come with you as you flee for your life.
 
Eventually you start to learn about the Grey Wardens and why they fight the darkspawn. This is where you start to see the difference in this game vs. Oblivion and how Bioware managed to work in so many tried and true stories (Star Wars and LotR specifically)to make the player feel a sense of desperation that the world is looking to you to save it. Some of the places in Felderen while nice to look at does indeed feel dark and dreary most of the time. People are fighting to stay alive and one step ahead of the darkspawn and there is a general feeling that there is little hope left. No one can be trusted but at the same time almost everyone has a story to tell. So, when it was said that this would be a dark fantasy, they were not kidding!
 
The NPC interaction in your party is most interesting of all with just some of the banter that goes back and forth. So, in essence, it’s as you heard. They kid around, tease and sometimes hate each other due to your decisions. You cannot do everything to please all of them but this will test you to see how you get through this game by trying to keep your groups together. Also the dialogue for this game so far is excellent!
 
I won’t get into the leveling system as I feel that it’s something that you as a player would need to see for yourself and tune to your liking.
 
Combat-wise, there is a lot of it and to be quite honest, this could have used a bit more polish as sometimes, it’s difficult to distinguish what you are targeting and hoping that you don’t hit your friends. Pausing constantly doesn’t always work because it detracts from the flow of fighting.
 
10 Hours in, I am very satisfied with this game and I can’t wait to see the DLC the comes out for both systems particularly the PC version since there is a toolset that will keep this game going for longer than the original 80 or so hrs that it will keep us busy! So, if you haven’t done so, run out and get this game because it’s well worth it!

The pattern itself helps shed some light to the issue.  Individual patterns will correspond to numbered error codes that can provide more insight to the problem. - The AV cable cannot be detected

 Steps to Try

   1.  Ensure that the AV cable is correctly attached to the Xbox 360 console.
   2. Un connect the AV cable from the Xbox 360, then reconnect the AV cable to the Xbox 360 console.
   3. If the four flashing red lights keep flashing, try cleaning the metal area of the AV pack using a dry cloth. The metal portion is the end that plugs into the console. Clean the metal area completely, and then try the AV Pack once again.
   4. If the AV cable is connected properly but the four red lights are flashing still, try a new AV cable.

Try This

   1. Restart the console.
   2. If restarting the console doesn’t stop the behavior, try these steps:

Overheating can be a cause of the console locking up or "freezing" after a certain time period. Lockups that  happened at a specific point in a game often are normally issues with the game console itself and Is not caused by your game console overheating.

Try This

1. Let your game console cool down.

2. Ensure that the game console has adequate ventilation and that the cooling fan is functioning.
   

PREVENTION SUGGESTIONS
To attempt to fix this issue, use the following steps:

• Don’t obstruct the ventilation openings on your Xbox console.

• Don’t place your Xbox console on your bed, on a sofa, or on any  soft surface that can block the ventilation openings.

• Never place the Xbox 360 console in a cramped space, like a bookcase, a rack, or a cabinet, unless the area is ventilated well.

• Don’t place your console close to a source of heat, like a radiator, a stove, heat register, or other electronics.
  

Don’t Put Your Xbox in the Refrigerator

Some individuals believe that this could help "repair" an overheated game console,  doing so might create more problems. Electronic devices like your game console are designed to work at and around room temperature, very cold temperatures can  create as many problems as a varying warm temperature (like overheating).

Additionally if your game console is plays in a super frigid area while It is running, the temperature difference between the cold air and hot console will make condensation which could short out your game console making your situation much worse.

Condensation will occur more rapidly if your game console is overheating because of the increased temperature differential. In short… Do not do it ( pun intended ).

A much more viable answer to overheating is to increase the cooling capacity of the game console. The absolute best solution that you can do is to replace the thermal set compound.

Do this at your own risk. If you’re  game console is still under warranty it is recommended that you contact MS for a replacement before attempting to fix it yourself. If you do decide to repair it on your own make sure you use a good Xbox 360 repair guide.

The Type of hardware shortcoming can be determined by the error code that is displayed on the screen.

E45: Unknown (possibly related to dashboard update)

E64: DVD Drive Issue…. DVD Timeout, incorrect The firmware, dvd is without f/w chip, etc.

E65: DVD Drive Error…. DVD Timeout, Incorrect firmware, dvd is without f/w chip, etc. This can also be caused by the disc tray not being fully closed on boot.

E66: DVD Drive Error: DVD model, or drive version does not match that of the version expected by the dashboard. OR the firmware version on the drive is older then the firmware version expected by the dashboard.

Make sure the DVD drive is of the same version originally included with the console and that it is using either the original firmware included with the console or newer.

E67: Hard Drive Error… It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it

E68: Hard Drive Error… It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it, This can also be caused by a Hard Drive Eprom Error. Some also believe this might be caused by a problem with the fans.

E69: Hard Drive Error… It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it

E71: possibly a dashboard update error, Check below in the "Console Reset Codes" for instructions. If that does not work there is no other solution and the console must be sent back to MS for repair.

E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port… this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port.

E74: AV cable error… There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it’s a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.

E79: Hard Drive Error… It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it

SECONDARY ERROR CODES

The particular type of hardware failure can be determined by a "hidden" error code

• Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.

• Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.

• The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).

• Release the eject button and press it
   
• The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.

• Release the eject button and press it again.
  
• The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.

• Release the eject button and press it again.

• The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.

• Release the eject button and press it again.

• The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.
  

You should now be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.

This is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:

    * All four lights flashing – 0
    * One light flashing – 1
    * Two Lights flashing – 2
    * Three lights flashing – 3

0003 Power problem could be the PSU could be the GPU/CPU, somehow the console isn’t getting clean power from the power supply.

0011 over heating – If you are receiving this error after disassembling your console make sure to all 8 of the heat sync screws are tightened securely to the board/heat sink holes.

0021 DVD Drive Time out – Can be caused by problems with a firmware flash. This is also speculated to sometimes be caused by a problem with the southbridge chipset on the motherboard.

It’s quite likely GPU related actually means the console does not know what is wrong. possibly a short or cold solder joint somewhere.

There is 1 major theory for what creates most of these errors and that is that the Ram, CPU, or GPU are not properly soldered to the mother board either do to poor build or excessive heat up and cool down cycles that can stress, weaken and over time break down the soldered connections.

There are two theories to fixing this;

The first concerns the "X" clamps that hold down the chips. The second involves re-Heating of the chips. DO NOT attempt either of these if your game console is still under warranty. If your Xbox 360 is still under warranty return it to the store where you bought it or call MS to have it replaced. Limited success has been reported by simply switching the AV cable from "HDTV" mode to "TV" mode.

Clear All Installed Game Updates and Console Cache

   1. Go to the "system" blade
   2. Select "memory"
   3. Press Y on the HD symbol
   4. Press X,X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X
   5. A message will appear saying: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"
   6. Select Yes

Clear Any Failed system updates that cause the console to error.

   1. With the console turned off, press and hold the sync up button (the small white one)
   2. While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console
   3. Continue holding the sync button until the Console has booted up completely.
   4. During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates, allowing you to use it normally.
