People have a love affair with automobiles. And they're always in
search of great deals. These two aspects combine for a general love
of great deals on cars. Some of the best car deals around can be
found when authorities offer impounded cars for sale. This is
normally done via an auction. For those who know their stuff
incredible cars are available at incredible prices.
Where do these cars come from? Police often acquire cars through
taking them from criminals. Drug dealers, for instance, can lose
everything they own if caught. That means a lot of cars, often very
fancy cars, in the hands of the city or state who wants to sell
them for a profit. Tickets also generate a lot of these cars. If
the owner doesn't pay to reclaim the car, it's offered for
sale.
Sometimes the cars are sold straight to dealerships who either sell
them on the lot or auction them. Or auto auctions might buy them
and then sell them in turn to the highest bidder. It's no matter. A
smart buyer can get the car for a song when its up for auction. But
beware of some pitfalls of purchasing cars via auction. You can as
easily end up a dissatisfied customer as a successful bargain
hunter.
There's usually no warranty offered with these autos. It's a case
of what you see is what you get. You buy the car that's on the lot.
All sales are final and it's up to you to do the homework. The
seller can even engage in puffery in most states. Puffery is making
unspecific claims about the benefits of the car such as ideal for
the daily commute. Some key words like cleanor like neware also
involved. The law says these aren't warranties even though they
sound like it. However, on closer examination they really don't
mean too much other than “here's a worm, grab the hook.
The wise thing to do is go in with knowledge and expertise. Inspect
the autos thoroughly. If you're not wise with cars, invite an
expert to accompany you. Don't hesitate to test drive the car. When
it's impounded cars for sale it can be a great deal. However, if
great deals were easy to find everyone would have them.
