Our crack statistics department decided to play around with the data from the Gunopedia, which now includes over 300 guns found in Borderlands by you. They looked at the distribution of gun values and plotted it as a histogram. The result is above.
What does it show? Not surprisingly, the most common guns are weak and have a damage less than 100. Guns with higher damages are rarer. The dropoff is especially apparent with gun damages greater than 400.
After that, the guns of any damage are rare. Above 1000, they are extremely rare. They're as hard to find as a demo console at Gamestop without half a dozen 12-year olds mashing on the joysticks. (The stat department lumped these values together so they wouldn't stretch out the chart).
They do exist though. The most powerful gun in the Gunopedia without multipliers and with picture proof has a damage of 1899.
Anything in the chart come as surprise to you guys?

Any chance of the level cap going up with future DLC?
We’re working on it. I know that’s something that people really want. You asked me earlier how difficult it was to balance everything, and as a customer I don’t care – I don’t want to hear how difficult things are – I just want what I want. I spend a lot of time making excuses, but we want that too, and we’re investing in that and I would not be surprised if we are able to offer that in the future, but at this point I can’t make any promises.
So says Randy in a new interview with GameInformer. Also discussed are the possibility of customizable character appearances and the Island of Dr. Ned.
We just got some details about pricing and release date for Dr. Ned and now we have a look at the DLC in action. Nice mustache Doctor.
Beat Borderlands and found all 87 bajillion guns already? Then some downloadable content is coming just in time. Gearbox and 2k announced that The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned launches November 24 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft points. No release date yet for the PC. (via Gamespot).
Do you obsessively check the Gunopedia and start frothing when somebody labels a Maliwan a Dahl? Then we want you. The Gunopedia is getting a lot more submissions so we could use another moderator to keep an eye on it.

PC players, don't feel unloved. Gearbox's most avid Twitterer hints that a patch announcement is coming soon just for you.
A clip from our videos section. During this online game, the chat got disrupted and warped their voices. They sound like Darth Vader and Mickey Mouse.
The community uploaded a bunch of guns to the Gunopedia over the past couple days. Thanks for sharing/showing off. This site is what it is because of your collective frothing fanaticism for this game. Pat yourself on the back for all the frothing we've achieved.
In the forums, Tyyl has kickstarted a rather deep discussion on what legendary guns really are with his post "Why Legendary Isn't Always So Legendary." Sickleficker is trying to transfer his Borderlands characters between computers and could use some help. (BTW, he's got a level 26 on his work computer. I want that guy's job.)
On the Web, Borderlands blog 87bazillion has been doing a cool feature showing some of the other Easter Eggs in the game. Also, a kudos to them for having one of the slickest looking Borderlands fan sites around.
