Summary: Learn to Speak Japanese Online

Learning to speak Japanese the easy way

Rocket Japanese Review

Rocket Japanese is probably the most popular of the “learn Japanese online” courses. This is for good reason! It’s the most comprehensive course you can find — online or off.

If you’ve read anything at all about learning Japanese, then you’ll know that it is absolutely important to immerse yourself in the language as much as possible. If all you have is a CD, DVD, or some printed material, immersion going to be impossible for you to do. Rocket Japanese eliminates these problems by including all the components you’ll need. There are things to read, things to watch, things to listen to, and games to play.

For that reason, and because the course is relatively low cost, Rocket Japanese gets our top review. They make a lot of promises about learning Japanese, and they really do deliver! You’ll be able to learn quickly and easily.

One thing we really like is that Rocket Japanese offers a free six-day course. While this certainly doesn’t have all the components that comes with the paid version, it can help you get a feel for the presentation style so you can see if this course is right for you.

Once you upgrade to the paid version there are several different components you’ll learn from. There is an audio course, beginner and advanced grammar lessons with a grammar book, conversation course books, vocabulary supplement books, and more. Another component is the MegaVocab software game. There are other games as well because the Rocket Language Company believes in learning through fun and games! These include the MegaAudio software game, and the MegaVerbs software game.

One of the most difficult things about learning online is that you can feel isolated during your lessons. This is not a good thing if you have questions about pronunciation, usage, or any of the other aspects about learning Japanese. The good news is that Rocket Japanese has eliminated this problem by including your own Japanese teacher with your purchase! You can reach this teacher via e-mail and other methods as described on the sales page.

There are no two ways about it — if you want to learn Japanese it’s important to learn through a variety of different avenues. Rocket Japanese does the best job with this of any of the other courses — hands down. It also comes at a price that will not break the bank, at just under $100!

Start Your Japanese Training Here

So, you want to learn Japanese? Well, you’ve come to the right place. I’m going to get you started on the right foot with some simple things you can say in everyday conversation just in case you’re in Japan looking for a great serving of sushi or maybe a date with a sumo wrestler. Hey, I don’t judge. Anyway, sit back and we’ll get you on your way to talking Japanese. And you won’t need The Vapors to help you either.

Let’s start with something very simple, like saying hello. If you’re answering a phone and saying hello in Japanese, you’d say moshimoshi. Simple enough? And when you end your conversation, you’d say adiosu. Now we just have to figure out what you’re going to say in between hello and goodbye. That’s hard enough in any language. Some people just never know what to say.

Let’s say you want to order room service because you’re in a hotel. Well you essentially want to tell them that you want food. Unfortunately, there all kinds of ways to say food in Japanese. For example, if you want to order a bowl of rice you’d say donburi. If you have a baby with you and want to order some baby food, you’d say ikujishoku. If you want a piece of devil’s food cake, it’s debiruzufu-doke-ki.

What if you’re ready to leave your luxurious hotel room and you need a taxi to take you to the airport? In that case you’d ask for a takushi. If it’s a privately owned taxi, the word is kojintakushi. And if you want to find where the nearest taxi stand is, you’d use either teishajou or teishaba. If you want to give the cab driver a tip, the word is kokorodzuke, which is actually Japanese for gratuity. They don’t have a Japanese equivalent for tip.

You’re probably wondering how I know this stuff. Well, there are plenty of places online where you can learn Japanese. In my signature, you’ll find a review of a great resource that will teach you Japanese easily and cheaply, no matter what your reason is for wanting to learn.

Learning Japanese is as easy as singing a song by The Vapors.

Can you really learn Japanese online?

The Internet is an amazing place. Did you know that you could look up just about anything in the world online and you’ll probably find it? It seems that there are experts in just about every field. If you want to learn how to cook sushi, there are plenty of tutorials you can find. And speaking of sushi, and the reason you’re reading this article, yes, you CAN learn how to speak Japanese online. There are more resources than you can shake a stick at. But which one to choose?

Well, you want to do a little research into whatever site you choose. How long have they been online and teaching their course? Now granted, the Internet itself isn’t that old, so you’re probably not going to find any 20 years companies teaching Japanese. However, if you find somebody with a few years of experience and they’re still in business, it’s a safe bet that they have a decent program.

The next thing you want to do is see if there are any reviews of the course. The thing I like best about the Internet is that people love to talk. They especially love to talk about what they like and don’t like. That’s why you see so many reviews on so many things. People especially love to rip things apart because, well, let’s face it, it makes them feel like they’re performing a community service, like they’re warning others about the big bad wolf. So read as many reviews as you can. If you don’t find any negative reviews on a program, there is a good chance it is a reputable one.

You’re going to have a lot of choices. There is no question about it. The last time I looked, there were over a million sites online that had something to do with learning Japanese. This makes it difficult to decide what program to choose. But like I said, do your research, look for reviews and use some common sense and you’ll find the program that’s right for you.

In my signature, you’ll find a review of a great program that will teach you Japanese efficiently and at a very low cost. I think you will find it is just what the samurai ordered.
Learning Japanese can be as easy as making a Japanese Godzilla movie.
