An action-RPG that prides itself on its difficulty, Demon's Souls is not a game for the faint-hearted. However, for a player willing to overcome a few hardships, Demon's Souls is a well-made, well-executed, highly enjoyable game.
Demon's Souls' basic gameplay is hack-and-slash similar to The Legend of Zelda or Kingdom Hearts, i.e. you swing your sword, block with your shield, roll, dodge, and so on. However, Demon's Souls has much higher stakes - your character can die in 2 or 3 hits, for one. Enemies telegraph attacks well enough, and are generally as weak as you are in health terms, so it's at least fair in that regard. It's less that the game is hard directly, and more that the game is unforgiving of carelessness; charging at an enemy as though they can be easily dispatched, like you would in most action games, usually ends up with your death.
There's a fairly wide level of customization available in terms of gameplay choices, though. Souls are the game's currency, and are obtained from every enemy defeated. They are used to buy stat upgrades, spells, weapons, armor, and items. In essence, you have a fairly wide set of choices available in terms of how you play the game - as a direct fighter, as a lightly-equipped archer, or as a supporting magic-user. Your class influences your starting stats, but there are very few class-based limitations in terms of equipment and spells. As long as you've upgraded your stats to the right level, you can use almost anything.
There is some difference in terms of what weapons are used, so there's at least a lot of diversity in terms of your character's development. In addition to enemy weaknesses, the weapons in the game also take how the weapon is used into account. Most directly, walls and corridors will make it impossible to swing a weapon - a problem if you're using a giant sword and can't get the room necessary to swing it. Generally, stabbing weapons like spears and rapiers are useful in close-range areas, while the giant swings of greatswords and polearms are useful in wide-open areas. It's possible to wield weapons one-handed or two-handed; it's also possible to dual wield weapons, to varying levels of effectiveness. The two kinds of ranged weapon are bows and crossbows: the former can be aimed manually, but requires two hands, while the latter must be locked on automatically, but can be used with a shield.
Death in Demon's Souls is frequent, and comes with a few penalties. Upon death you become a ghost, with only 50% of your normal HP (though this is raised to 75% by an item found early on, which is much more tolerable). When you die, you lose all your current souls (but not items or abilities), but if you can get back to the spot you died in and touch your body, you can at least recover it. There are a few ways to recover your body, the most common of which is beating a boss while in spirit form. However, it's often not worth it - you can only beat a given boss once, and it's fairly easy to die afterwards to some simple trap or surprise attack. And given the number of things that are trying to kill you - soldiers, monsters, dragons, rolling balls, pit traps, and the occasional explosion - care should be taken at basically every opportunity.
The game's multiplayer is probably its most innovative feature; rather than a direct sort of "join someone else's game" feature, Demon's Souls is more like a persistent online world where you can only occasionally interact with other people. The most common online interaction is messages. These messages are assembled from premade parts ("look out for the ____ ahead", etc.) and left on the ground near whatever they're talking about. Any player can put down a message, regardless of content, so it can be used to help people ("there's a trap ahead", "don't trust this guy") or to hinder them ("if you jump down into this bottomless pit you'll get some treasure"). Trustworthy messages can be recommended; recommending a message provides the player who put it down with an instant full-heal - something that's not to be sneezed at, especially during boss fights. Therefore, it's to the player's advantage to put down helpful notes, and the game is certainly hard enough to warrant them. In one case, for example, an otherwise innocuous NPC was marked with many runes nearby indicating that said NPC was a liar and I should attack him. As it turned out, the NPC was powering a ritual that made the level's boss immortal, and without killing him I never would have been able to beat said boss.
The other way that the game presents a passively online universe is through player ghosts and bloodstains. The former is just a glimpse of other people playing the game - i.e., their characters running around in the same level you are in. These are mostly just there for show, though seeing a ghost pull a lever or break down a wall can provide a helpful hint. When another player dies, their bloodstain is left in the location where they died. If you touch a bloodstain, a ghost pops up and runs through the last few seconds of that player's life. This basically shows you where traps are in a lot of circumstances - you just have to watch for the part where the ghost "dies" when you go forward. In some cases, the presence of a great deal of bloodstains serves as warning enough.
There are more direct ways of interacting, as well. When you're a ghost, you can offer your services as a Blue Phantom and enter another player's world as a cooperative helper. Beating the level's boss transports you back to your own game and gives you your body back. You can also take the darker path of the Black Phantom and invade another player's world; if you manage to kill them, you get your body back. Overall, there's not a lot of communication possible in-game. The messages serve as the only actual communication; blue phantoms must communicate with gestures and emotes, and there are only a few of these. There's no friend lists or anything along those lines, so you're really just grabbing any random player either as an enemy or a friend.
The graphics in the game are excellent - the designs and effects are detailed and well-executed, there are plenty of incredible panoramic views (many of which can be noted with messages) and the characters all move with realistic weight and effort. On the other hand, the Havok physics used in the game are completely ridiculous. Bodies, for one, can be easily kicked around by a player walking slowly into them, which causes them to go into humongous spasms and flail around. The sound is great, being distinctly atmospheric while also serving as a warning. The music is good, but only shows up for boss fights (in a manner similar to Shadow of the Colossus), while the rest of the game is music-less to let you focus on approaching footsteps or flapping dragon wings.
As a whole, Demon's Souls is a great game with solid gameplay and fun online multiplayer. However, it's also a very unique game - casual gamers, people who dislike losing repeatedly, and people who want to play with people they know in real life are probably better staying away. The game's difficulty will drive away most gamers; even gamers who stick with it will likely find it frustrating when they die for the hundredth time. The online mode, while interesting and fun, is limited in its long-term applications due to the short "pick up game" nature of coop play.
In conclusion, the game is a 9/10 for hardcore gamers, and a 6/10 for casual gamers.

My kids loved it!!! We got this because my 3 y.o son scratched our wii sports; he's a big fan of bowling needless to say he's so good at it. Lol so we decided it's about time to get a replacement since he's been wanting to play bowling again. We read all the reviews before buying this. And all the reviews were right! It's a lot of fun. I love all the games and so does my kids!!! I recommend this product! Get more detail about

So, after 5 days playing and getting exercises with my Wii Fit Plus (from now on WFP), I think I am ready to write a review, I will try to make it short but useful as possible. (English is not my native language, you will notice immediately).
First, about me:
I do not go to the gym (have tried but don't get used to), nor do exercises, or run... but I do move around a lot because of my job, I work on the field, so I have to walk a lot, also I do eat consciously, from December 2008 to nowadays I have lost 15 lbs and was decided to not go back.
So I was looking at Wii Fit this summer, and knew about WFP and decided to wait. Meanwhile, I was on the blogs, the forums, online videos, about people experience about this game, and I wanted to get fit and have fun.
Then, I got WFP:
I explored the games, the routines, I was doing my daily body tests, I am true about this and I want to get fit. At the end of the second day with WFP, I felt the lack of exercises in my body, for example the Rhythm Kung Fu, some think this mini game is lame, but my biceps were hurting, probably because of the fast move of the arms forward. The Jack-knife made my abs to shake, I was amazed about how weak I was, when I try to hold a pose and start shaking after 10 seconds, I struggle to keep the poses because I know it is working out my body; I feel it, a start to a better life, so, if you are true about this game, pardon, "Investment", you will feel the work out.
Game play review:
The game fits my needs; I have a wide variety of choosing how and where I want to work out. Example I can choose a category of exercises to work my arms, abs, legs, etc. Also I can combine those to avoid interruption, and the best of all for me, I can select how long I want to work out, 10 minutes, 15, 30... and the game will arrange the exercises to fit that time, in any of Yoga, Yoga & Strength, or Strength only category, and as you do the poses, the game will put a checkmark on it and continue, so you will "carpe diem" that time as much as possible.
About the balance board:
I notice immediately something was not right about my weight according to WFP, so I compared my weight on the balance board to a professional scale (you know, like one of those the doctors have on their office), the scale is calibrated correctly, 1 litter of water is exactly 1 kg, since the weight I get from the pro scale is as I am, with my cloths on (unless I want to weight without cloths, then I will have to weight without cloths on the balance board, that would be the more accurate weight of your body), I chose a cero lb discount (the part where I am asked to select the weight of my cloths), and I did the numbers, and found out and offset of 3 pounds, exactly 3 pounds, my balance board is measuring 3 pounds lower than real weight, and I use the balance board on hard floor, so I do not need the leg extensions.
Other than that, it is very sensitive and does the job... oh! by the way, you will need a yoga mat if you work on hard floor, as some poses requires you to bend on your knees, and if your hands are sweating, or your feet, you will slide off, so get a yoga mat for extra grip and soften bones/floor contact.
So, that's it, my final review, invest on WFP, do not get it just for the games, they do work you out, but I think this game is targeted to do the fit exercises (Yoga and Strength), after your routine, play some mini games to "carpe diem" your daily use of WFP, as those counts too towards your kcal goal (or Cal, with capital C) and time spent.Get more detail about

Wii Sports Resort is a great cold-weather activity for my kids, and you can't beat the value for this bundle with two Wii MotionPlus adapters. If you value each MotionPlus at $20, then you get the Sports Resort game for only $17! We use this game almost every night for our 2 girls, age 7 and 4-1/2, to get them up off the couch and moving around after dinner, rather than just watching TV.
My 4-1/2 year old loves Wakeboarding the most, because she was able to figure out how to do very high jumps pretty quickly. She also likes skydiving, flying around in a plane, and dog frisbee. My 7-year-old likes many of the sports, but her particular favorites are swordfighting, archery, and frisbee golf. I'd buy the game just for frisbee golf, actually. My 7-year-old is surprisingly competitive in frisbee golf against me and my father, because you don't have to hit a small target - you just have to throw the frisbee within a yard of the hole to get it in. Many of the games are loads of fun for my girls to compete against each other, against their friends, or against me and my wife.
Also, even though many of the games are somewhat simplistic, we get lots of repeated play by seeing which of us has the high-score crown at any time. The game awards a high score crown for every sport, and at every difficulty level, so each of my girls can have multiple high scores simultaneously. Whenever any of them gets a new crown, they even make me take a picture of them standing next to the crown. You also get various awards (stamps) for accomplishing certain things, like becoming a pro or passing the 10th or 20th swordfighting level, which gives the girls something to shoot for after they master the basic game controls.
This game has continued to be played almost every day in our house since it was released in July, and the girls have not gotten bored of it yet. With the addition of the two MotionPlus adapters, I recommend that every Wii owner purchase this bundle!Get more detail about

I love the color red that SONY has put on this controller, however, it fells a lettel bit heaver than the controller that came with my SONY PLAYSTATION 3 80GB, which is good. So, I would recommend this controller to any one that is looking for a new controller for there system, or that they are purchasing this controller to have a second person to play head to head on most games.Get more detail about

I purchased the motion sensor for my second remote along with the Wii Sports Resort Game. I love the game and I think the motion sensor does make the remote more sensitive. This is a great feature, but I realized the original remotes gave me a false sense of the ability to win :-) I totally recommend it.Get more detail about

When I first got a Wii people told me that I wouldn't need 2 nunchucks because they hardly ever used them but I quickly found that if you want to do boxing 2-player or play really fun games, like lego indiana jones, or lego batman, you need at least 2 nunchuks. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.Date Published: Oct 16, 2009 - 7:19 am

When the original Wii Fit was released, I found it to be enjoyable and good for light exercise, but I thought there were some obvious--and seemingly simple to add--features missing. Most notably, I wanted to be able to customize a workout without having to select exercises one at a time. My primary interest in Wii Fit Plus was therefore due to the customizable workouts.
As others have mentioned, there are 15 new games/exercises that are grouped under a new category called "Training Plus". I have found them to be pretty good overall; some are fun, some are good exercise, some are both (I especially like the Obstacle Course and Island Cycling). There are three new Yoga exercises and three new Strength exercises; honestly I haven't even looked at them since they were not a strong selling point for me.
There is a "locker room" available in which you can choose pre-programmed routines, which are generally three exercises of a 6-8 minute duration in all that are targeted towards a specific goal (Warm Up, Relaxation, Hips, Arms, etc.). These can be combined but not further customized.
You can create your own routine under "My Routine" within the locker room as well, and as that was my primary interest, I will elaborate. You can choose any combination of strength and yoga exercises; the total minutes will be calculated for you. Once you begin the routine, the Wii will automatically cycle you through your exercises one after another. This can reduce the total time spent dramatically; for example, suppose you want to follow the Push Up/Side Plank with the Jackknife. Before, you'd finish the first exercise, grab the remote and press A several times while getting your score, ranking, feedback, encouragement, etc., etc. Then you'd select the other exercise, get out of the floor and stand on the board for a few seconds, and then get back down in the floor. Now, you just wait in the floor while the second exercise loads. MUCH faster, and with enough exercises in a row you actually can feel like it's a real workout. I would estimate that doing 30 minutes of activity now takes 5-10 minutes less of actual elapsed time.
However, there are still some obvious flaws with the new implementation. First, you can only select strength and yoga exercises; no balance games, no aerobics, none of the 15 new Training Plus modules. Second, you can only have one exercise routine per Mii. If you want an upper body workout and a lower body workout separately, you're out of luck. Finally, you are defaulted to the minimum number of reps, and you can't change that. If you select Jackknife, you're doing 10. Ditto for lunges. Push Ups? You'll do 6. I can't imagine that it would have taken much effort to allow that extra level of customization.
I like the Wii Fit Plus overall, and I think it was worthwhile. But, the fifth star would've been so easy to earn from me, and it came up short. Get more detail about

This is a good expansion pak but like many reviews it's not worth the price it is. it should have been a downloadable content game like gta4. the new visr mode is cool but if master chief's suit was more advanced than the odst's why didn't he have it. instead he's got an ancient flashlight i thought they were five hundred years in the future. but it's also good to have light.
The new fire fight is cool i guess bungie added that to make up for the price.
One thing i found very annoying was the fact that i purchased the map packs on xbox live and this odst game includes them.
The campaign is worth playing.Get more detail about

Good Game (2009-05-31)
This is a great game, and while some complain that it is too similar to Resident Evil 2 (RE2) since its timeframe actually overlaps with RE2's, that's one of the things I really love about this game. When I first played this, I was real excited to return to some of the great environments from RE2 -- I really like how the stories intertwine and how they complement each other.
While there is nothing groundbreaking here -- though the 180 degree turning has been a great addition to the series, and the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style is kind of neat -- it's nice to have a game that just uses a formula that worked really well (e.g. RE2) and gives us another opportunity to re-experience that while keeping the story fresh.
jusat like old times (2009-04-24)
I missed out back when resdient evil was first popular. Now since 5 is out, Ihave been buying up old versions for my wii. This game is great, the graphics are dated but it is still a pretty great game

Best sonic game I have played so far!!!! (2009-01-22)
Best sonic game I've had for my gamecube! The 2 player mode will probabably a 4 and a half star but the story mode I would rate, if it was possible, it a 12-star game!! There are hundreds of levels which you could play over and over with different teams(There are 4 teams)so you will never get bored and always probably have something to beat.
another underated sonic game to add to the pile (2008-11-11)
sonic heroes is a nice game to add to your collection. the only reason i feel it's underated, is because it's sonic first true run to the new systems. sonic fans didn't know how exactly to handle it, and began talking smack to it, ingnoring all this game has to offer the average gamer. don't get me wrong, the games not flawless. the controls can be frustrating at times. it's not a problem running, but in the more complex levels and the boss battles, it'll where you nerves. the camera is not the best sonic seen, but it's not the worst. overall, the game is fun. weather you're a sonic fan or not, you'll enjoy this game.
Awesome! 3 Character Gameplay! (2008-05-23)
I think that so far, this is my 2nd favorite Sonic game that I've played so far. The levels are loads of fun and full of cool new 3 character action. Each of the 4 teams has a speed, flying and power character, each with it's own ability. You use each of those abilities to progress in the game. At first, I must admit, it can be confusing and frustrating trying to figure out when and where to use each character, but as time goes on, you become acustomed to it and much it's easier to manuever. I feel one downside is that each team goes through the exact same levels. But with each team having its own difficulty level, it changes a few things that you'll have to figure out. But a great game and recommened to all.
A Fast & Fun Game (2008-04-29)
Sonic Heroes is sure a blast. this game is very fun. this is a game that every sonic fan will enjoy.
3 person team is frustrating (2008-01-04)
I wasn't happy with this game. The fact that you would be going fast in a level and then need to be abruptly stopped to change the character you were using. It would have been better if this wasn't required to move forward in the levels. Being an old time Sonic fan, I will probably be sticking to the old 2D version games since the new Sonic games just seem to be lacking.

this a Gr8 seat for racing (2009-06-14)
This is a gr8 racing seat...fell really confy..easy to assemble.. looking good..one drawback..not going faster on the track.... feel really good sitting in it... to push the pedal to the metal...
Good for the money, but not great (2009-05-18)
I was very excited about receiving my Playseats Evolution. It was pretty easy to assemble, and after fiddling around with it for a short while, I found a position for everything that was just about perfect.
But.
Since the steering column is only attached at one point to the base, it flexes a lot. Really amplifies the force feedback, which could be good, but just winds up being a little bit annoying. And, because that single attachment runs right between your feet, you can choose between either heel-toe braking OR left-foot braking. You cannot do both. And therein lies the rub. The designers foresaw this limitation and provided two different places to mount the pedals. But it's a work-around, and not a fix.
And there's no quick set method to employ the work-around. To move the pedals means first removing your pedal set from the rest, then moving the rest, and re-attaching the pedal set. It's almost 10 minutes of work to go back and forth between games that support the Logitech G25's clutch pedal.
If they were to simply change the steering column to make a loop around your legs, this wouldn't be a problem at all.
Finally, the seat material makes me sweat. A lot.
But it's a pretty good training seat, directly accepts the G25, lets me approximate the setup in my Spec Miata, and is light enough to move out of the way.
poor packing handling at facory (paint) (2009-05-17)
ordered it based on reviews of others here..glad i did..but..
getting it out of the box i thought they send me a used one, repacked or so.
Closer inspection showed just very poor paint quality and the one person who handles the packing it up in the box seriously does not care wether it looks 'new' or not!
I guess i got all my parts that were painted came from the bottom of the pile. Very poor quality paint.
On the other note that the intention of this product is to create a stable sim race platform i can truly say it meets my expectations and i can not see me 'race' my GT4 and GT5 any other way anymore!
Absolutely stable and fairly comfi.
250 lbs guy and i believe it will take all adrenaline abuse i (unwillingly, he he) throw at this playchair.
Good thing they provide 3 adjustment positions for the paddle mount otherwise the vertical tubing would be seriously in the way of ones leg, so that was solved easy.
Friends who came over and tried it mentioned they had to have one too..
Kinda fun to watch their wives facial expressions after they mentioned that.
3 stars (only) due to lousy paint quality and the seat could be a little thicker for my heavy a..
Husband's toy (2009-05-12)
My husband is really enjoying his driving games now. Stays in place. He is 68.
Never more (..will you use a foldable table) (2009-04-06)
The Playseats Evolution is the perfect companion for a racing wheel. If you're fan of racing games (and don't merely play them for fun, like any other game) and if you own a wheel, don't hesitate in buying this. Once you try one of these, you won't go back to clamping your wheel on a desk, or using a foldable table, or any other thing like that.
First of all, the seat is very comfortable. You'll find yourself racing for hours without your back aching or finding yourself in weird positions. Also, the seat folds, for storage, although it still uses some considerable space (that being said, it is highly recommendable that you have a dedicated gaming room, or at least you have decent space on your room).
The build quality is exceptional. At first glance, you might think that it will not be the most stable gaming seat available, giving that you have to put it together piece by piece. However, you'll find that the entire thing is quite sturdy and stable. Moreover, when you're in the middle of a race, you won't notice any wobble at all. Also, it is notable that every piece fits perfectly. I didn't have any trouble assembling the seat, not even one screw presented any trouble at all. Once completely assembled, you'll see that the seat sits perfectly still on it's base, the pedal platform is really sturdy, and the arm where you mount the wheel presents minimum wobble.
The design is fantastic. The seat, based on actual bucket seats, immediately invites you to sit on it and hit the gas. The metal parts have a nice color finish, and they fit perfectly into the overall design. The seat is covered with white or black high-quality vinyl, with touches of black on the "shoulders" and "head" of the seat. Overall, as stated before, the seat is very comfortable, very well cushioned, and has a great design.
Playseats gave a really appealing design to the Evolution, but that doesn't mean that it compromised it's functionality. The distance of the pedal plate to the seat is adjustable, and it will fit tall people without any problem (I'm 5'11", like to play with the pedals as far away from me as possible, and the thing could expand way more than that). Now, the angle of the pedal plate is not adjustable; however, the angle given is very comfortable and I have no complains about it. Now, the wheel mount is adjustable both in separation from the seat, height and angle of the wheel (the wheel angle is adjustable by some mechanism that I don't fully understand yet, but it gives you some 3 or 4 possible angles to fit your needs). One thing here: To avoid having to adjust the separation of the pedals and wheel everytime someone new tries your seat, I'd recommend the slider kit (Also sold here on Amazon).
It is important to say that the wheel mount, as well as the pedal plate, have pre-drilled holes that fit the Logitech G25 wheel (There is also a gear-shift mount sold separately), so it is ideal if you have it. However, if you own an Xbox 360 wheel, I highly recommend that you buy the mounting brackets (also sold here on Amazon) to fit the 360 wheel. This is necessary because the platform where the wheel is mounted is very thin, and the clamp on the wheel won't be enough. There are several people (myself included) that have built home-made solutions to avoid spending 30 bucks on those brackets (Like drilling a wood board to the platform and then clamping the wheel), but I've found that the clamping mechanism of the Xbox 360 wheel is not _that_ reliable (if you are one of those that "feel" the game, you'll find yourself holding the wheel completely separated from the platform from time to time), so I recommend that you buy the brackets along with the seat, if that's your case.
My only complain on this thing is that they should sell it with the slider kit and xbox 360 mounting brackets included (even if it costed a bit more), because you'll find that they're quite useful. However, I understand that some people don't need them at all (and instead maybe need the gear shift mount), so it's logical that they sell all those extras separately.
All in all, the Playseats Evolution is a fantastic big-boy's toy. The quatliy, design and functionality that it delivers make it a great investment. Seriously, this seat is some of the best spending I've done in a while. Once you receive yours, you won't regret at all. Heck, I even thought first that this thing would have a huge girlfriend disapproval factor, but actually she likes it a lot.
