These pads aren't magic. They won't silence your drum hits, and they won't give you the bounce of a real drum head. However, they're definitely an improvement over the stock drums, and their price is good.
I went ahead and popped off the drum heads and unscrewed the rims, and I'd recommend that for anyone else considering these. Other reviews can give you better instructions on that.Get more detail about

Fake Sony 8MB PS2 cards can be found for much less than the too-expensive legit Sony-made versions. However, saved game corruption are significant, and build quality is very poor. I bought one Sony-made 8MB memory off Amazon through a 3rd party, presuming it was a real Sony-made item. Yes, it was 1/4 the price of the real thing, but some games didn't even recognize it or simply gave corrupted saves 100% of the time (such as MGS3 Subsistence), while others didn't seem to care (such as MGS2 Substance).
The card rattled, too, due to a lose board inside the case. It didn't fit smoothly into the PS2's memory slot, either. Spelling errors on the back was my first indication it was fake, but comparing it to a known legit Sony card, it was quite obvious.
So, be careful. Those 'new, sealed in package' deals from non-Amazon vendors through the Amazon website just might not be the real thing (you've been warned!).Get more detail about

Kingdom Hearts II.Date Published: Oct 18, 2009 - 6:35 am

Kingdom Hearts: It's what you get when you combine classic RPG with platform puzzles, action adventures, and a bit of a shooter. All in all, it creates a new genre of gaming experience, one that can probably only be classified as a multicade rpg, or something of the sort. At first glance, the game would seem almost perfect. Elements of various Final Fantasy games meets various elements of Disney. What more could you ask for? And certainly the pro's out weigh the con's. However, the few flaws that are in this game are not minor flaws, but glaring. For starters, the camera angle plainly sucks! When I play a 3d game, the camera should rotate around smoothly, without any problems. But in this game, it's very sloppy. Because of this, it is hard to line up your characters to make jumps that would otherwise be easy. Another problem I had was with the attack methods. Sometimes it's hard to tell who you're fighting, and whether or not you are close enough to attack. On top of that, it makes no sense to limit how many potions a person can carry, yet stock them up in a bag. You should be able to access your bag at any time. Finally, the gummi ship was a drag. It had potential, it certainly did, but in the end it served no benefit to the gaming experience. Aside from these few points, though, the animation, voice acting, storyline, and overall gameplay is wonderful. Too bad they haven't made an animated series based on this game.
Edit: One thing I wanted to add to explain why I gave the overall game high praise, in spite of the flaws. There are secrets and side quests galore, many of which will take up a good portion of time or allow for many repeat visits to areas you've already explored. Most of these secrets and side quests are enjoyable and enhance the experience. And when you do manage to make that nigh impossible jump, or manage to defeat the tough-as-nails boss, or locate the special treasures (like dalmations, missing pages, trininities, etc) and open up new areas of exploration, you really do feel a sense of accomplishment unlike a lot of other simpler rpgs, especially if done without a walkthrough or cheats. All of this, combined with a rather dark and mature story, really make the game a worthy experience.Get more detail about

I primarily use this for MADDEN 2010 on the PS2 and the buttons stick. Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection.Date Published: Oct 16, 2009 - 7:14 am

The PlayStation 2 Slim you see here is ridiculously small (you won't believe how small it is until you see it), power-conscious (it only uses 30-45 watts), and compatible with thousands of Playstation 2 and PlayStation 1 games out there. The new-fangled Playstation 3 has been released and been out for several months, but the PS2 stands as a stable, refined, and well proven platform that cost-effective gamers will want to look into. There's no better value for your money.
Gamers will be pleased at the extreme variety of excellent games available at cheap prices. I've purchased at least a dozen games used or new, and they still hold up today: games like the cinematic uniqueness of the Metal Gear solid series, the raw, campy gore of the God of War duo, the frightening, atmospheric world of Resident Evil 4, the epic, colorful, sprawling adventures of Dragon Quest VIII, Shadow of the Colossus and Okami, the sprawling battles of Call of Duty 3 and Killzone, and the kid-friendly romps such as the Jack and Daxter trilogy and the Ratchet and Clank series. All of these games stand up as some of the greatest interactive pieces of entertainment available today, and none of them cost me more than a few hundred. This is the perfect time to get into the PlayStation 2 and it's unparalleled level of fun. And for the non-gamers, this version of the PS2 is capable of Progressive Scan output for DVDs as well, and it looks very nice.
If you buy this system, make sure you are aware of the additional purchases you may need to make. A memory card is required and not included in the system; this will allow games to save their data so that players can resume their adventures later on (about ten buks). Gamers with an HD TV (or even one capable of Progressive Scan) will want the Component Cables that Sony sells for the PS3; these PS3 cords are compatible with the PS2 and the included standard composite cables are rather fuzzy (about twenty bucks). Games that allow a second gamer to jump into the fun will need an extra controller (twenty-five). The PS2 Slim comes built in with the Ethernet port so all you need to do is plug in an Ethernet cable into the back of the system (one of those blue cords that come off of your Internet router) and set a few settings on your PS2 games.
Those looking for a old, well established system to play their video games and DVDs will find the PS2 a compelling platform. There aren't very may new games out there, but heck, all of the classics that have been released over the past nine years are more than enough. For game enthusiasts or even casual players looking for a good time, I can offer no higher recommendation.
(I bought the Silver PlayStation 2 Slim, which is identical to the Black pictured above but is no longer sold on Amazon. The Black would be a nicer color anyway, though may show off its collected dust.)Get more detail about

For use with Sony Playstation-2 / Lets you feel the thrills and action of the game
Amazon.com Product Description
The layout of PlayStation2's Dual Shock 2 controller is nearly identical to that of the original PlayStation's Dual Shock controller, which is good news for most gamers. The main new feature is that, when the buttons are pushed, the controller can register how much pressure is being exerted. This adds a completely new dimension to sports, racing, fighting, and more games. Aside from the Start and Select buttons, all of the functions are analog for greater control, a wider variety of operations, and a more compelling interactive experience. Two convex analog thumb pads and two force-feedback solenoid rumblers round out the features. This controller is also compatible with all software that supports the original Dual Shock controller.

Not worth without this (2009-05-31)
One of the many things out there that we can't have without, like a cell phone without a charger. Can't have a game console without it's controllers. I had to get two of these ps2 controllers for the simple fact that my originals broke. The funny thing is that my originals lasted me this long surprisingly ! I had my ps2 since it first came out, and it still works great. It works a whole lot better with working controllers ! I've witnessed other variations not lasting long, or break easily (friends use to own other controllers for ps2). So far the actual sony ps2 (careful, there are knock offs out there) works great. How can you go wrong with these controllers ? If my original controllers lasted me this long, think of how long these new ones will last !
works (2009-03-28)
It's a controller, it works. Cordless is way better.
Don't buy the cheaper brands - they don't work well.
We now have ps3 wireless - huge improvement without the wire.
I find the ps controller more comforable to hold than Xbox.
PS2 Dualshock still the best (2009-03-16)
After trying some aftermarket controllers that look nice but just don't cut it, the faithful original Sony controller still can't be beat. I have pounded these things for month after month and they still hold up really great. Of course there comes a time when they finally do wear out, but for the price and quality they are still the best in my book!

Good (2009-06-10)
One of the best games for PS2. I wouldn't recommend it for kids though.

Best game out for PS2..... (2009-06-03)
First off, let me say how stunned i am about this game. Two weeks ago i didnt even know it existed, i was simply content with playing all my new release PS3 games. Then just by searching here on Amazon i read some reviews about this game and it looked good. I ordered it and sure enough 3 days later after recieving it. I was hooked, i couldnt put the game down. The story is amazing, the graphics are great for a PS2 game, and the gameplay is almost perfect. If you havent played this game i HIGHLEY reccomend it. You cant beat the 19.95 price tag. Take my advice, get the game and you wont be dissapointed.
God Of PS2 (2009-05-21)
I recently got back into video games, and I was looking for some fun titles to pick up. A friend of mine urged me to pick up God Of War 1 & 2. So I did, and brought them home and immediately fell in love with them.
I have always been interested in Greek mythology, so this game was right up my alley. Kratos is a very likeable character. You can have a lot of fun playing with him.
As far as the difficulty goes...Mortal (Easy) is extremely easy. I would reccomend it to first-time players. Hero (Normal) is easy as well. Recommended for first-time players as well. Spartan (Hard) is fun once you have beaten the game on either Mortal or Hero mode. God (Expert) is a nightmare. But, if you play on Spartan mode, you can get a good feel for God mode.
Overall I gave this game a 10 out of 10. Fun gameplay, excellent storyline, awesome videos, and bloody fights. You can't go wrong.
Best PS2 Game Ever (2009-05-03)
That says it all folks. Even in the age of new-gen consoles, this game is visually stunning. I'm fairly certain that my jaw was open for the entire duration of this game. There are so many different combos that you will be hard pressed to remember them all. The story is fantastic, the gameplay is amazing, and the graphics are crazy good. I can't wait to see what God of War III is going to look like on a PS3. BUY THIS GAME!

I have never owned / played this game . (2009-04-24)
I don't know why they want me to write a review about this game , Because I have never owned it . If it's not a Ubisoft game , I will have to check it out though .
Great series....but (2009-04-07)
I also have a review for part 1 of this game on this site and rated it a 5, I rate this a 5 because the game and series is one of, if not my favorites, and I've been gaming since the early 80s, but this still ranks as one of my 5 favorite series'.
You know most of the good stuff, Kratos honestly believes no one or thing can kill him, and for the most part, he is right. The weapons are a lot of fun, including the often talked Barbarian Hammer which makes Kratos look like a spinning giant hammer when in combo. The Spear is ok, I only used it a few times, the blades of course are the weapon you start with and in most of the battles in the game, they will be enough. Magic is really good this time around, the Atlas Quake is not only devastating, but fun to watch too.
Onto the reason I rated a 3 in fun. First, I'm not for sure that many people can play this game without at least looking at a walkthrough or even videos that show how to do some parts. If you want everything in the game you will use a walkthrough. There are parts, Urn of Gorgons, for example, that you wouldn't even think about how to find it without a walkthrough.
I personally don't like that. Having to turn my head to the right reading a walkthrough while looking ahead at the screen, usually pausing, and reading, just isn't that fun.
My other complaint in the fun area is the same one I had on part 1. Some of the jumps are as a walkthrough said, "Leaps of faith". And after you jump off a cliff 3 times, trying to hit the wall over to your left, you will get a screen that asks if you would like to switch to easy mode, and in parenthesis it tells you only the toughness of battle is changed if you do. Out of the actual fighting parts, one boss gave me a hard time, the Cerberus, but that was my fault, not using the right weapon. I would say though, Kratos probably died a couple of hundred times. Out of those, maybe 10% were in fighting. Speaking of, the Gorgons are back and now you can parry their attack, problem is, I found myself late in the game, getting between two, so I only can parry one at a time. You know the routine, turned to stone, one hit and you're dead. To make matters worse, you now have wings later in the game, so go ahead and try to jump the gorgons and they'll freeze you in mid-air, and when you hit the ground, you're automatically dead.
To me this took a lot of the fun out of the game. I didn't want to stick around in areas to try and find the secrets because I knew there could be another of these jumps or cheap kills like the Gorgons do, around the corner and you go back to the last checkpoint when that happens.
Still a 5 overall, I honestly can tell you that I had bright red thumbs and analog stick indention on one finger on each hand from trying to wiggle the analog stick to break the stone the Gorgons trapped me in, over and over and over and over and over and over. Sure the parry works, but when between two you can't jump them since they will freeze you in the air. I thought these parts made the game monotonous. I guess that's what we get for saying the first part was too short.

PS2 Game System (2009-06-10)
This game system may be a used game system, but it functions like just the same as the new one I bought for my daughter. I wish I had of thought to purchase this game system from an amazon buyer first.
PS2 - great little system (2009-05-26)
just picked a one up at the $99 mark. i used to own:
Colecovision
sega genesis
NEC turboduo
Xbox
and currently own a Wii
for about $100 i picked up a machine that plays a combined library of over 1K games AND DVDs. with analog outs (digital optical audio included) and Internet access (albeit slow dial-up), this is quite a nice package with great multi-functionality.
the controller is MUCH more physically comfortable than the Xbox controller.
add into the mix that Sony still releases new games for this platform, i'd say pound for pound it's as good a system as the Wii for a non-HD monitor.
there's more than one reason why Sony sold more of them currently in 2009 than the PS3 - overall it's the best gaming system Sony has in the USA.
if you're thinking of getting one, research how many games you think you will play, and if it's a goodly number i HIGHLY recommend getting a PS2 over a PS3. as long as you have a standard definition TV/monitor, you should have years of fun for a GREAT price.
and just for the record, i'm an old RTS man. i strictly got this for Nectaris - an rare Playstation title, but expanded to Goblin Commander and Soul Calibur II (loved it on the Xbox, and it's just as fun on the PS2). it will also be a backup DVD player.
Good Cheap Solid Product (2009-05-04)
I'm not sure what to say. The PS2 has been around for awhile. It has an excellent library of CHEAP games and there are still some games coming out for it now. If you want a cheap video game system with awesome cheap games, the PS2 is the product to have.
The console only comes with one wired controller.
PS2 OWNS XBOX 360 (2009-04-30)
At least for me. Most people probably think that I am crazy for saying this, but I had a N64 up until I got an XBOX 360. The 360 has a FEW nice games, I love Call of Duties and such, but it breaks too much! I love the PS2's 1400+ library of games, and the fact that its so quiet, dosent overheat, and is small is nice! I realized that im a Sony person now, and as far as the graphics go they are still good. I dont really care about graphics, its all about the playability of games and the PS2 just has so many to choose from. I play everything from Spongebob games to Star Wars and the fun never ends. I bought a 128 MB memory card and it works great, i'll never have to get another memory card. I recoment to all who have a budget, being that PS2 games are about half as much as the same thing on the XBOX 360, and the system is only 99.99 NEW! I also use it to watch all my DVD'S which it plays better than my actual DVD player.
Arguably the best gaming console ever made gets a well-deserved makeover. (2009-04-14)
Let's face it: Size matters. Less clutter. Less bulk.
I had the original, fat Playstation 2 before owning this one, so I know all about oversized consoles (*cough* XBox*). It's hard to believe that the same (if not better) technology is in this newly redesigned slim version of one of the most famous gaming consoles. On top of that, it comes with ethernet, and the disc tray is different than the original. Loading times seem to be a little better but nothing to celebrate.
This version is worth buying even if you have a Playstation 2 already. Just sell your fat one (you can probably get around 45 for a fatty) and buy the slim one. It's very compact (the pictures don't do it justice, trust me) and it will encourage you to take your console everywhere (long trips, friends' houses, etc.).
