You won’t believe what my new client says he wants in his new house. He says he wants to do the entire living room in pure leather. Can you imagine? It is every interior designer’s dream come true. Sure, it’s not for my own pleasure, but creating such a fantastic room is a pleasure in itself and that’s why I like what I do so much. It is not very often that you find clients that are willing to spend a pretty penny to really get the very best in furniture.

I think my client is a rich businessman and his wife is a socialite. I expect they intend to entertain often in their new house considering how much they are willing to spend on making it look impressive. And impressive it will be. Today, we were looking at some leather chairs in brochures. And my client said they were not good enough. They were worth thousands of dollars! He said he didn’t want any ordinary leather chair; he would prefer to have a leather reclining chair instead. We even considered the option of having a leather loveseat sleeper near the big French window.

Tomorrow, I am going to take some of the best brochures for leather furniture for him. They are subtle in their style and finish and not very over the top. I think they perfectly suit the taste of my new client. I have never really worked on such an assignment before to really guess what their real price would be. I expect they cost a fortune. But then, if you have it, you flaunt it and the classier you are about it, the better impression you stand to make.

I’m sue my client would not be satisfied only looking at leather furniture in the brochures. Before long, I am certain I will be accompanying him on a tour of the best leather furniture showrooms in the city. Considering there is no dearth of such stores in New York City, I wonder how many stores we would need to visit before we find his perfect leather reclining chair. I had better do some research and find the best leather furniture stores in the city. I am expected to do so. I think I will start with stores that have the most expensive furniture. Not only is my client loaded, but I think he wants to make a great fashion statement. Only the best and the most expensive leather furniture is going to make any impression on him. But, since it is leather furniture we are talking about, I am sure that is not going to pose any problems for my new client.
