What Is The Effect Of Arsenate On Energy Generation In A
Cell?Arsenate (AsO43-) closely resembles Pi (inorganic phosphate)
in structure and reactivity. In the reaction catalyzed by
glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase, arsenate can replace
phosphate in attacking the energy-rich thioester intermediate. The
Product of this reaction,
1-arseno-3-phosphoglycerate, is unstable and it is rapidly and
spontaneously hydrolyzed, producing 3-phosphoglycerate. What is the
effect of arsenate on energy generation in a cell? thanks!!!

Is Pure Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein Safe For My Hair?I have curly,
(very) dry, coarse hair and have recently noticed it appears to be
breaking, causing it to get shorter! I notice Hydrolyzed Wheat
Protein as a main ingredient in hair repair. I purchased 100%
Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, but I am unsure how to use it. Answers
are hard to find, any thoughts? (also purchased jojoba oil and pure
shea butter, all ingredients that seem predominant in hair repair
products)

How Come Hydrochloric Acid Only Breaks 50% Of The Glycosidic
Linkages In Wheat Starch?During the Napoleonic Wars in the early
1800’s, there was a sugar shortage in Europe because supply ships
were blockaded from harbors. To create artificial sweeteners,
German scientists hydrolyzed wheat starch. They did this by adding
HCl (hydrochloric acid) to heated starch solutions, which caused
some of the glycosidic linkages between the glucose monomers to
break. The process broke only 50% of the glycosidic linkages,
however, so the sweetener was less sweet than sugar. In addition,
consumers complained of a slight bitterness resulting from
by-products of the reaction. Why do you think the acid broke only
50% of the linkages in wheat starch?
