What Is Better
Whey Protein Ion
Exchanged, Micro Filtered Or
Hydrolyzed Protein?I
originally used six star professional strenth
Whey
protein, http://www.sixstarmuscle.com/products/protein/index.shtml
supposidly superior to regular
Whey
Protein and is cron 100%
Whey
protein, it is Ion exchange filtered and says it is 97% purity. I
searched on ebay and found
http://cgi.ebay.ca/All-The-Whey-Brand-WPI-Protein-Isolate-25lbs-11-Flavors_W0QQitemZ280242272083QQihZ018QQcategoryZ75082QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
........ And I just saw the shipping and no I am not buying this
159 dollars for shipping yeah right lmao... anyways they claim that
'We do NOT use Ion Exchange as a method of filtration for any of
our proteins, ion exchange is a cheaper method of chemically
filtering
Protein which denatures the
Protein and can often times make the
Protein non-digestible. Instead we Micro–Filter
our
Whey Protein Isolate
resulting in the highest quality protein.' Would you agree to that,
or is there even really a difference? What
Protein
do you recommend I take? It is really hard for me to get the gram
to gram and a half per pound of weight on just foods alone, I weigh
162 lbs, use to weigh 225, have pretty much lost the fat, just
working on toning now... I am also using six star professional
strength creatine with nitrix oxide activators. Alows for more
creatine absorbsion/ intake. I added up how much I am getting from
natural sources and today it was just over 90 grams, so probably
even 100 grams. Thats saying that every gram of
Protein was taken in. I know you need at least 50
percent of your
Protein intake to be from natural
sources, or is that not relivent anymore? If it is then I should be
good I am just over 50 percent from natural sources when I start
taking
Whey Protein again.

Hydrolyzed Proteins?Are
Hydrolyzed protiens vegan?
I heard that they're animal bone-and-hoof derived, defintly -not-
vegan friendly, but I can't find any evidence anywhere else to back
that up. If that is true, how do they make things like
Hydrolyzed soy/wheat/whey/ect. protein..?

'Whey' Proteins/Supplement... Going To The Store Tomorrow? HELP!?I
have been working out from past 5 months. I have seen a lot of
progress but at a very slow rate. I heard a lot about going with
'whey' to see my progress speed up. I really do not know anything
about these 'Whey' products except for the fact (if I am not right,
please correct me) that it comes in three different forms -
Concentrate, Isolate, and Hydrolyzed; in which,
Hydrolyzed is the first good choice. I am going to
the store tomorrow and I need to know how can I find out if the
certain
Whey product is Hydrolyzed? and is that
all I would need? A single box of
Hydrolyzed Whey?
or would you recommend something else too. Please let me know the
exact name if possible. I do not want to ask the people in the
store because 1) they might want me to buy an even more expensive
product which is less effective 2) they might tell me wrong
information. I know I don't know much about
Whey
that's why I am asking here on Y!A... Thanks to everyone!

[This Is A Poll So Could All Bottle-feeding Moms Answer] Which
Formula Do You Use?Baby Formula Differences There aren't really any
convincing studies that prove that one formula is better than
another, so you kind of have to go by what the formula companies
say about their 'recipes' and see what works for you. Among the
major brands of formula: Enfamil Lipil is one of the latest
formulas from Mead Johnson, which 'has been dedicated to patterning
infant formula after the nutritional composition of breast milk.'
It provides a 'whey-to-casein ratio of 60:40. Just like breast
milk' and they claim that 'no other formula is closer to breast
milk than Enfamil LIPIL.' Nestle Good Start Supreme contains 100%
whey, partially
Hydrolyzed 'comfort proteins' that
are supposed to be easier to digest. It is also supposed to have a
faster gastric emptying time, which may help children with reflux,
and promote soft stools, which may help infants who are
constipated. Instead of creating a formula that is like breastmilk
in composition, they seem to be trying to make a formula that
behaves like breastmilk. Similac Advance is made without palm olein
oil, which they claim helps their formula promote increased calcium
absorption and greater bone mineralization. Similac Advance also
contains 'special breast milk nutrients called nucleotides' that
are supposed 'to help support the development of a baby's immune
system,' however, even their website says that 'whether this
development provides immune protection like breast milk has not
been shown.' And all formulas contain nucleotides. Store Brand
Formula, like from Albertsons (Baby Basics), Target (Healthy Baby),
and Wal-mart (Parent's Choice), are made by Wyeth Nutrition and are
based on the old SMA formula. They provide a 'nutritionally
complete, sensibly priced formula option' for parents.

Would You Feed This To Your Newborn?Hi, I'm wondering if you would
feed a packaged food with these ingredients to a newborn or older
baby? Do you think this is ok for me to feed my 6 week old?
Enzymatically
Hydrolyzed reduced minerals,
Whey Protein concentrate, palm
olein, soy, coconut, high-oleic safflower oils, lactose,
maltodextrin, patoassium citrate, calcium phosphate, calcium
chloride, salt, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, ferrous
sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, manganese sulfate, potassium
iodide, soy lecithin, mono and diglycerides, inositol, choline
bitartrate sodium ascorbate, alpha tocophyeryl acetate,
naicinamide, calcum pantothenate, riboflavin, pyridoxine
hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, folic acid, phylloquinone,
biotin, vitamin D3, vitamin B12, taurine, L-carnitine Its just that
I saw this on the can of formula they gave me in the hospital and
it didn't sound safe to give a new baby... Jaker Maker - That's a
good point. Dirt and rocks are natural then, and so is plastic. So
I'll feed that to my baby instead. Thanks. I'm gonna give you best
answer!!! :)

What Does It Mean Mixing Breast Milk And Formula?Oh, and I thought
cow's milk is not good for babies. I just checked this can of
Nestle Good Start I got and the first ingredient is 'Partially
Hydrolyzed reduced minerals
Whey
Protein concentrate (FROM COW'S MILK)'. Is this
still ok??? Does it mean you substitute cooled previously boiled
water with breast milk? My 3 1/2 month old is still waking up every
2 hours to nurse. I'm thinking to give her little bit of formula to
keep her tummy full for long period of time. I'm doing this NOT
because I'm selfish and want to get more sleep for myself. I still
want to breast feed her. But I was reading some books and they say
by 3 months babies should need a longer rest for their health. And
according to a number of baby websites, mixing breast milk and
formula is safe. But I'm not so sure how. Say, the instruction on
the can says 1 scoop + 60 ml water. So is it 1 scoop + 60 ml water
+ whatever amount of breast milk I can pump? Or just 1 scoop + 60
ml breast milk?
