Where To
Report Job Scams?I had recently applied
for a job off of
Craigslist and when they replied
they wanted me to 1st to go get my free
Credit
Report and then email it to them. This sounds kind
of fishy to me, I was wanting to know if anyone knew who I would
Report this to?

How Can I Tell If A Job On
Craigslist Is A Scam?I
look at these posts about jobs and ALOT seem like scams. On one of
them the lady emailed me back and said she needed me to send her an
updated
Credit Report because
part of the job consists of driving and making errands for them and
people in the past have used her gas card without her knowledge and
she didn't want it to happen again. But a
Credit
report? IDK, I didn't do it, but what other ways can I spot a scam?

Is It Normal For A Potential Employer To Ask Me To Run My
Credit Report And Send It To
Them?Hello, I have been applying to jobs via Craigslist.com and I
have received on many accounts future potential employers saying
that the next step in the interview process (before we even
interview) is for me to run my
Credit
Report and send it to an email address. Is this a
scam? Thank You - Joan

Craigslist Job Scam Has My Resume. What Do I Do?Well I feel like an
idiot, but I fell for a job scam on craigslist. They have my
resume: name, address, email, phone number, employment and
education history. I finally woke up to the fact that it was a scam
when they asked for my
Credit report. I didn't
send them any other info and they do NOT have my SS# or birth date.
My question is: what can they do to me with the information they
have, and what steps should I take to fix this? Thanks!

I've Applied For Jobs Online. Some Have Sent Immediate Replies
Requesting My
Credit Score Or Copy Of My Report? At
first, most of them were saying that the score was requested due to
the person hired having access to a company
Credit
card. Another position I just received an immediate reply on says
they would like a copy of my
Credit
Report to verify previous employment. Of course
all provide links that they want you to use. Needless to say, I'm
suspicious of this. I'm applying for positions advertised in an
online job board (Craigslist mainly) for an intermediate sized
town. I wonder how many of these could just be business trying to
find people to sale things to - or
Scams - and I'm
sure suspicious of a company immediately sending an email saying
I'm in their final screening process and requesting a copy saying
it is to verify previous employment. Has anyone had this before and
had them be legit? Maybe I should add that I work overnights, so
I'm sending these out at 2am - 5am in the morning - so I know that
these are auto-replies. I appreciate all the answers so quickly!
I've been very concerned with the identity theft issue. I've been
sending out resumes with my emails, but have been giving serious
reconsideration to doing that. I know it looks much more
professional to include it, so how would you word an email that
doesn't have it attached?

Thank you for your help!!!

Is It Weird A Hiring Employer Is Asking For A
Credit Report?I found a 'office helper' position
posted on
Craigslist and sent them my resume and
cover letter. They responded saying they are interested and would
like me to bring a
Credit Report
to my interview and notify them when I'm done getting my
Credit Report (they gave me a
link to click on to take it) I have not taken the
Credit Report yet, I'm scared
this might be scam. This is the email they sent me: Thanks for the
response. We've reviewed your resume. We'd like to set up an
interview with you. We're looking to fill the position asap. We
require a drug test and a copy of to your
Credit
report. Please reply to let us know if you're interested and if you
could get the
Credit Report
today? We will let you know where we'd like you to get it from. I
replied saying not a problem, and this is their response: Thanks
for the prompt response. We would like for you to get the
Credit Report by clicking here
Let us know when you've gotten the report. We'd like to set you up
with an interview for July 24, 2009 at 10:30am. You must bring the
Report with you. Do not email or fax it. We do not
want to keep or file your report. Notice they do not give me their
name....

Can A Business Ask For A
Credit
Report BEFORE Giving Out The Job Application, Or
Does This Sound Like A Scam?I replied to a posting on Craigslist,
trying to see if a receptionist position was indeed a real job and
not just one of those schemes or spam. The response I got said:
'Due to bad experiences with this in the past, before we can send
you an application, we need you to get a
Credit
check. We prefer you use (*specific website*) to obtain this
information. When you submit your information they will send you
your
Credit check. When you email me your
Credit score I will send you your application.' Is
this something a legitimate employer can ask for prior to receiving
any of my information (not even a resume), or do you think this is
some way to fish for my information just to get me to go to this
website, meaning the job probably doesn't even exist?

Is This Reply To My
Craigslist Ad For Housing A
Scam?I put an ad on
Craigslist looking for
housing. This is the email I got from someone: Hi there, nice to
hear from you. Well that's good because I have many places
available for you in the area. What's your exact price range? How
soon were you looking to move? Before I show you any listings I'd
like to get a feel of what you'd qualify for, we can do this by
getting your
Credit score. Our office has a
relationship with a credit report company to give our clients free
Credit reports, if you'd like to get one through
our partner go to http://creditreport365.net/?clientID=232842 or
you can get one through your own means, just please get this to me
and we can get you into something. I look forward to speaking with
you. Is this a scam just to get me to buy a
Credit
Report and then bail on me? Has anyone had
experience with this? I am really frustrated b/c I need a new
apartment ASAP. I'm not dumb, maybe just desperate. I just turned
18 and this is my first place that I'm getting on my own so I'm not
too sure what the
Scams going in the housing
industry are.

A Job On Craigslist: Is It A Scam?I went looking on
Craigslist for jobs and I found one I really like.
I was sent a reply back really quick... almost too quick like it
was an automated reply not something someone just sat down and
wrote up. IThe reply said something along these lines 'thanks for
the quick reply heres what the job entails.. etc.. and you'll need
to use a company
Credit card. Due to problems in
the past we'll need you to fill out a
Credit
report. Heres a link. Fill it out and send me an email with your
Report and we can set up an interview. Make sure
to tell me your hours of availability as well.' Well first of all
the link didnt work and then on second thought it seemed weird that
any company would want me to send them my
Credit
Report through email. I see why they want to check
my
Credit but this seems like the wrong way to go
about such a thing. I did email them back with my hours and said I
would fill out a
Credit Report in
a more confidental way and no quick reply. I wonder, do you think
this is a real job posting or just a scam? Everything about how the
job read seemed real but I guess someone could just be really good
at wording!

Help!! I Fell For A Job On
Craigslist And I Think
It Is A Scam!! What Do I Do??!?So I found a job online on
Craigslist looking for a legal assistant for a law
firm. Everything sounded ok until I responded to the job with my
resume and the 'guy' (with an email address called
Johnathan.Brown@lawyer.com--lawyer.com is not even a legitimate
site to receive emails so I don't know how he received my resume)
responds by telling me the job description. He then says the person
must have at least a 400
Credit score to qualify
under his insurance carrier. He wants his assistant to use a
company car to take money to the bank. The assistant was also
suppose to get a cell phone to answer office calls while running
the errands. Apparently his insurnace company requires individuals
he insures to have at least a 400
Credit score. He
sent me a link to a
Credit Report
agency. I used the link and was charged $1 and saw my
Credit score. The
Credit company
is legit (I called them), but I don't understand why he needs just
the score? Does this make sense to anyone? Is this a scam?? What
should I do. I looked for this guy under the bar association in my
state and couldn't find his name!!
