Coliac/celiac Disease Blood Test?i rang my gp surgery to ask if they did this and she couldnt tell me said youd need to see a doc but i dont wanna make an appt for a waste of time. she said though it would probably need to be a full Blood Test (from the arm) but i heard it was a 10 minute finger prick? can any1 tell me whos had it? thing is ive just been to the hospital to have a full Blood Test for other things i didnt even suspect celiacs Disease at the time of my other Blood Test but i dont really want another one really (from the arm) as i fainted and felt awful. How Long Does The Blood Test For Celiac Disease Take?My daughter has horrible stomach issues. She had 3 vials of Blood taken 4 weeks ago to Test for all sorts of suspected problems. We had her follow up appointment yesterday and they said all her tests came back fine but the Celiac Disease Test results were not in yet. The doctor we had yesterday was not even sure what Celiac Disease was and had never ordered the Test to give me any feedback on it (we are seeing various doctors while our primary doctor is on maternity leave). If You Test Negative On A Blood Test For Celiac Disease, Can You Still Have It?I was tested for Celiac Disease antibody levels.....my results were 0, 0, 4, so my Dr. did not think I had Celiacs. Has Anyone Ever Taken A Blood Test For Celiac Disease It Came Up Neg., But You Have Every Symptom?When I was a baby my mom would feed me immediately I would throw up. I had a pot belly with stick legs and arms. Finally a Dr. told my mom to take me off all gluten. She did, I got better very quickly. As I got older she started introducing gluten back into my diet and I seemed ok until high school. In high school I was extremely anemic, my hair was falling out and I was 85lbs. No one could figure out what was wrong with me. Finally I got better on my own - no diet change. Now as an adult (22) I have started to notice symptoms again. I went and had the Blood Test and it came back negative. The Dr. blew me off and said I was fine - he said I needed more fiber in my diet. I don't know what to do. Should I just stay off gluten without finding out with testing? I have had an allergy Test where they prick both your arms and put the stuff on the pricks. It turned up nothing. [ Read More ]

Blood Tests For Celiac Disease One Week After Stopping Gluten?Hello! I seem to be allergic to gluten, have long been sensitive, i think, but for two months have had diarrhea and, later, dizziness, low morale, lack of concentration. i stopped gluten a week ago and feel MUCH better. i don't have rdv with GI specialist for a month, have seen generalist and rhumatologist. generalist thinks that after just one week of having stopped that the anti-bodies won't have disappeared, if i get Blood tests. i am not at all eager to start up with gluten again for a few days. i was pretty seriously bothered, it seems. Any experts or people with knowledge about this out there? All experience with this welcome.
