Summary: Heart Disease Statistics By Country - Incredible Wonderful
Heart Disease Statistics By Country - Do You Think Its Right For Schools To Act Like food Police?I mean banning packed lunches and forcing the children to eat whatever is being served for school dinner (to make sure that they dont - Heaven Forbid! dare to eat anything unhealthy!)
Or allowing packed lunches but having teachers inspect them and confiscate anything as shocking as a Kitkat or a packet of Quavers?
I understand the importance of Health Eating but I honestly feel this is wrong it infringes on personal freedom. Also do these people not understand that metabolisms are different and whilst some children are prone to fat due to sluggish metabolisms + lack of exercises there are other healthy active children with fast metabolisms who arent ever going to be obese and can handle a daily Kitkat without becoming a heart Disease statistic in later life?
My father had a fast metabolism plus was very active - he weighed the same at 70 as he did at 25 and never put weight on. I am the same and so is my son. Although we do eat healthily we can all handle a little bit of unhealthy food without gaining weight or becoming ill in any way. So I would greatly resent being dictated like this by my sons school when he starts (hes not three yet). It makes you feel that you are living in some sort of dictatorship and not a free country.
Theres a balance to be drawn here - but doesnt regularly sending your child to school with a packed lunch consisting only of a chocolate bar a bag of crisps and a can of Coke (yes it does happen!) approach child neglect?
Yes but thats extreme. Most parents would pack a sandwich a piece of fruit a carton of juice a yoghurt and maybe pop in a Kitkat or a packet of crisps - again like I said in my family we can eat that kind of stuff without gaining weight as we have fast metabolisms. I would seriously resent some Jamie-Oliver-Loving teacher inspecting my sons lunch and confiscating the KitKat or crisp!! - Heart Disease Statistics By Country
