The school never brought up the issue I took my daughter to see for myself. The therapist was too quick to judge I believe nobody can tell you about your kid except yourself. Shouldn't The Parents Just Try To Be More Responsible As Parents?too many Kids are on Meds For ADHD. yes some truly have Adhd but the vast majority of Kids given Meds are Kids whose parents are never or seldom around. the Kids act as they do all day and then the parents come home and wonder why the Kids don't act the way they want them to act, so they put them on Meds and claim their Kids have ADHD. these parents need to spend more time with their kids, teaching them how to behave, demonstrating to them how to behave. About Druggin Kids With Ritalin Or Other ADD/ADHD Meds?Ok, so I just asked a question about my son and his listening skills at school and about 70% of the responses told me to test him For ADD/ADHD medicate him. No teacher or counselor has ever suggested testing him or medicating him, so I guess thats where my confusion and frustration come in. My little bro was on Ritalin For years and truly believed that without his Meds that he couldn't do the work and listen and behave until one day I convinced my mother to give him a 'fake' pill on a Friday. She gave him a baby Tylenol and told him it was a different pill since they were coming out with new ones. And you know what happened? My brother had a 'perfect' day at school that day. A couple of wks later she took him off and told him that the dr said he was all better. And he has been ever since. That said, I'm sure it's easy to put ur Kids on Meds cause the dr says so, but this little experiment shows just how much of info ur Kids can be made to believe when they are fine and well. To Parents Of Adhd Kids Only. Would You Give Meds To Your Kid For A Weekend Camp Get A Way With Scouts?My son is going to go on a camping trip in two weeks. Its only For the weekend. The campsite is only about 40 minutes away from home but i have to work and cannot be there with my son. Its For boyscouts. Parents do not have to go. My son has Adhd and i didnt tell any of the leaders nor did i tell them or write on the information sheet that he takes Adderall daily. My son has had Adhd since he is 4 years old. The Meds work great For him during school and stuff. We do not give him his Meds on the weekends so that he can gain his appetite and get better sleep. What should i do as far as the camp thing? should i give my son his meds? If so, i will have to tell the leader b/c he wil be the one giving him the meds. This means that he will be much more focused but wont eat and sleep while at camp. I wont be around which makes me worried. Or shouldi just let him go to camp and not take his meds? Do Kids That Take Adhd Meds Have Adverse Reactions When They Don't Take It Like Unusual Extreme 'dumbness?'My son takes Adderall daily. However, when he misses a dosage he becomes extremely 'dumb' as if he has a low IQ.
