Help Stop Finger Nail Biting!!?I have been Biting my nails since I was 2, when they took away my pacifier. It is truly an oral fixation ( yes I know, haha) As soon as my parents realized I was Biting they tried everything from gloves, hot sauce, prescription strength Stop Biting polishes. As an adult I have tried changing habits, painting my nails, getting acrylic nails, manicures, the rubber band trick, band aides.....everything. It has progressed To the point where I chew them down To the Nail bed, and continue knawwing at them until they are dry, sore and look awful. I even tear at my cuticles!!!! As a kid I even bit the tips of my fingers, though I have stopped that, I can't seen To Stop Biting my nails, ALL the time. Does anyone have a fast solution To breaking this horrible habit?? My Son Chews On His Shirts And Blankets. Can I Get Rid Of The Sucking Reflex?OK. This is slightly embarrassing. I'm seventeen. I sucked my thumb from about 2 days old. I stopped sucking when I was seven except at night. then i cut it out completely when I got braces when I was 16. I had my braces off In September and since wearing my retainers I've started sucking again. I can't sleep at night without sucking again. it's fine at the moment because my retainers are keeping my teeth right. But as of April 8th I don't have To wear them anymore, I don't want my teeth To move. My teeth have cost over £5000 that's orthodontics and an implant for a baby tooth that had no adult tooth under it. In the past we've tried all sorts To Stop me sucking, physical remedies like putting that stuff To Stop you Biting your nails on my thumb - didn't work, To mental ones like hypnotism, nothing seems To have ever worked.
