Live Betta Fish In Bowls As Centerpieces?Months ago, when I posted a question on here, asking for creative ideas for Centerpieces for my wedding reception, someone suggested Fish in bowls. We love the idea, and I purchased everything we need, except, of course, for the fish. I want to be responsible and not put any living thing to undue stress. Please tell me if you've ever seen this done or done it yourself and how it went. I do not wish to cause the Fish an early death. Also, I've already found them homes for afterward. Thank you. People are making a lot of false assumptions about our reception. Number One-there will only be EIGHT bowls. Number Two-we are not serving alcohol at our wedding. Number Three-I HAVE researched, and that's why I'm asking about peoples' actual EXPERIENCE with doing this. My fiance I have 'rescued' poinsettias from peoples' trash after Xmas in the past, to save a carelessly-discarded Life, so yes, I do realize a life is a life. Has Anyone Used Or Is Planning On Using Betta Fish In Their Centerpiece?Just curious how it worked out or how it looks... sweet! Im having a daytime outdoor wedding on a lawn infront of the ocean. Any ideas as to the presentation? Oh no! NO flushing! I want to give them away cause I'll have quite a few kids at the wedding. It's at a restaurant outside, not too formal. Can I Put These Fish In A 29 Gallon With A Betta?I was thinking it would be really neat to do a tank with one of my bettas as a centerpiece fish. I was going to put ember tetras, endlers livebearer and pair of sparkling gouramis in there. If I took out the endlers livebearers and added a few more sparkling gourami could I put a Betta in there? Where Can I Buy Betta Fish (fighting Fish) In Large Quantities? 10 Points!?I need about 50 or more Betta fish. FYI: I am not planning on selling them or doing anything in-humane. They will actually be very well taken care of. I am using them as a centerpiece at my engagement party, one per glass tank, per table. Then afterwards, the guests can take one home and raise it. I've seen this done and a friend who took one home from a party has had it for over a year so I know they will be well taken care of. Fish Bowl Centerpiece?ok so i really love this fun idea...my wedding is in october and i'm wanting to do a dark teal/gold w/ ivory/champagne accents and for Centerpieces on the tables (its a small wedding) i wanted to do Betta fish. seeing how the main color is already a teal (dark teal tho..not a light one), i don't want people to think its a tropical theme or beach theme...what does everyone think? should i just stick with candles?? cuz i love candles 2! what about siamese fighting fish?? are they the same as betta? i gotta look this up.. uh ya..they are the same..i feel stupid n/m!! Good Home For A Betta?We went to a wedding where they used Betta Fish as the centerpiece. Poor things. They all got left behind on the tables, so I took one home. I was afraid he'd get flushed if I didn't. I'd like to get it a proper tank with a heater. I can neither spend a fortune, nor go very big. Would 2.5 - 5 gallons be all right? How Does This Tank Set-up Sound?I am planning on getting either a red crowntail Betta or a regular male red Betta for my 10 gallon community tank for Christmas or a gift from Santa. I don't know how he is going to bring it down the chimney. LOL. I was thinking if anyone has any suggestions how I can make my Betta Fish stand out. Centerpieces For The Reception....help!!?Hi there! I'm getting married in June and was thinking about what kind of Centerpieces I would like at my wedding. I DO NOT WANT CANDLES! I've seen too many videos of brides going up in flames. And I don't exactly want flowers either. My wedding colors are a darker blue and white. I was thinking about doing the Betta Centerpieces and loved the idea but I don't want to have to worry about setting them up and making sure everything goes well and dealing with the hassle of it, so I have decided not to do that...(please no nasty comments on how that's so mean to the fish) I want something that looks nice but not sure what. My table numbers are going to be wedding pictures of our families and friends with the date of their wedding as the table numbers, and I want to either incorporate them into the Centerpieces or just have them next to them. Why Do Some People Feel That It's Okay To Treat Animals As Objects?I mean, it's bad enough that people eat them, but to use them as party decorations? Does Anyone Have A List Of Centerpiece Fish That Would Be Good For A 10 Gallon Tank?I have just cycled my 10 Gallon Freshwater Tank and am going to be getting some guppies soon, however i don't know what kind of Fish to get as a centerpiece fish. I've looked into dwarf gouramis and bettas, but bettas would just kill the guppies, what other options do I have? Can A Small School Of Neon Tetras And A Male Betta Get Along In The Same Aquarium?I am currently in the process of cycling my 20 gallon tank. I have two Neon Tetras in the tank.
