Heart Disease Symptoms In Cats - Do You Know About FIP In Cats?My cat has the effusive form of feline infectious peritonitis... the symptoms are very clear to see. Im not sure how long he will survive they say cats with this form of FIP (he has the wet/effusive kind) will only last for a couple weeks to a few months... can anyone tell me exactly how this disease kills cats? Does it cause a heart failure or something? ...I guess Im really asking if we have to put him down.. any answers would be greatly appreciated. he was a stray we found at our cabin over the summer i guess we didnt find him soon enough... he most likely contracted the virus from something he ate in the woods. poor little guy.. Thank you all for the wonderful feedback it has really touched my heart. Its been a rough week having to witness this once healthy lively loving cat become frail and sick... its a knife in my heart. And my family will not let him suffer and make arrangements for him to be put down. I cant hardly type Im so distressed that the best option has to be to end his life especially when he has finally found his family.
