How Do You Know If You Have
Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome?I have pain in my right wrist that
comes and goes. some days are worse than others and some days it
doesnt hurt at all. It is right at the pulse point on my wrist, and
hurts when I try to lift or make a pinching motion with my thumb
and 1st and 2nd finger. Any ideas? I saw a doctor today and she
thought maybe arthritis or tendinitis, but made no mention of CTS.
I was prescribed Naproxen and a wrist splint. Should I get a second
opinion?

Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome
Question?Besides surgery, are there any other options or home
remedies for CTS? For me, it comes and goes in both of my hands. At
times, it is very painful and just plain annoying! I've tried the
wrist splints, but they don't work. I've heard about getting a
shot. But from what I've heard, it is only a temporary fix. If the
problem does get even worse, I will probably have to get the
procedure done at the doc! Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome... Where Should I Go From
Here?I have been having pain in my hands for a little over a year
and just recently my doctor thought it might be
Carpal Tunnel syndrome. He
suggested I have an EMG test done. The results came back and i did
indeed have
Carpal tunnel. I received cortisone
shots in each wrist a little over a week ago and have gotten little
to no improvement. What should be the next step, surgery? I've been
wearing wrist splints at night and they don't seem to help... Could
i possibly have another problem as well as
Carpal
Tunnel? If i bend down the first joint of every finger i experience
pain and also a clicking sensation in my thumb. Is this common with
Carpal Tunnel or is it something
else. I have been tested for arthritis and this is not the case....

Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome.... Advice Please?I've had
Carpal Tunnel
Syndrome since I was pregnant with my son 2 years
ago. I get it every night and during the day when I'm pushing the
buggy, on the phone and even when I'm eating my dinner. Anytime
really when my hand is elevated. I'm not too keen on the operation
but I've not heard anything about the injection. Can anyone suggest
anything? Wrist splints would be no good as I'd have to wear them
all the time. Does anyone know if there's anything homeopathic I
can take to alleviate the symptoms? Many thanks :)

Is Surgery The Only True Treatment/cure For
Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome?Point being, it seems to me that
everything else (meaning wrist splints, NSAIDs, cortisone shots,
exercises, etc) is just to help prevent symptoms and do not help
cure the problem. The reason I ask is because I have it and I'd
just go straight for surgery if that's the only thing that's going
to correct the problem.

Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome???I just found out I have
Carpal tunnel. I have been in so much pain and my
doc wants me to wear a
Splint for 7 weeks before i
go back to see him. any suggestions on how to prevent this from
getting worse? I'm typing one handed now, and wearing the splint. I
type for a living, so what else can i do? Yesterday the doc gave me
a steroid shot in my nerve and it made the swelling go down
temporarily. Now I have to take Mobic and I can't take asprin or
iburprofin, or anything else like that or it will cause a stomach
ulcer :(

Is My
Carpal Tunnel
Syndrome Back?I was diagnosed with cts in my left
hand a year ago, told that it was caused by having very small
wrists. I was given splints, diclofenac, cortisone injection and
then finally had surgery 7 months ago. All was fine until about 6
weeks ago when I started getting tingling and numbness in my finger
tips. Then that burning ache through my hand and up my arm, and
finally shooting, electric shock, type pains across the bottom of
my wrist where my scar is. Seen 2 doctors since, one says cts has
returned, the other says this almost unheard of. Again I've been
given diclofenac and a splint. Both doctors say my job is not
making it worse and as I'm right handed I don't put that much
pressure on my left, but feel like I'm back where I started. Is it
normal for it to return so quickly or is it likely to be something
else? What are the treatment options from here?

Had Nerve Conduction Study Today Doc Says
Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome The Worst He's
Seen In Someone My Age.?I'm 46 and my left hand was 5.32 and the
right hand was 5.85. He said my only alternative is surgery because
I'm too far gone to do anything else. He said I would get only
minor relief from physical therapy and I've been wearing splints
for the last 3 weeks. I would like to get a second opinion but I
don't want to take that test again. It was very painful. Does
anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Thanks
