Carpal Tunnel Release Surgery?I would Love to hear from anyone who has had this surgery. I also had Surgery for cubital Tunnel which is at the elbows. I had the Surgery 2 years ago and after the very long painful healing process felt some relief only in the way that I could lift items that were normally to heavy for me. (Such as a gallon of milk!) Up untill 4 months ago I dealt with alot of anger and dissapointment that the Surgery was such a failure. 4 months ago I had to quit my parttime job as the constant pain, tightness and inflammation was unbearable. I wear my splints to bed every night and am physically limited. I feel so deceived by the promise that this Surgery would free me from my dibilitating 'Carpal Tunnel Syndrome' Since I have not been working I atleast am not dealing with the relentless 'Flair Up's' Looking forward to hearing from those on there outcome....laceyemerill [ Read More ]

Cubital Tunnel Syndrome?I have bilateral (both hands) Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and cubital Tunnel syndrome. i had Surgery on my right hand for the Carpal Tunnel last year. i have a son, who was 2 at the time, and found it difficult looking after him after the op, so i turned down the option of having the left hand fixed. now the symptoms in my left hand are worse and the cubital Tunnel is bad. my ring and little fingers are permanently numb and my little finger is bending. i also get pain up my forearm to my elbow. now my gp says i need the Carpal Tunnel Release and cubital Tunnel Surgery on my left hand, maybe both at same time. i know what to expect with the Carpal tunnel, but has anyone had the cubital Tunnel surgery? i have no idea what to expect and am kinda worried. thanks, sarah x [ Read More ]

2 Questions About My Carpal Tunnel Release?I had some nerve study tests done in hospital and they revealed that i had bi-lateral Carpal Tunnel syndrome-meaning i had it in both wrists. I was advised to have the right wrist operated on first as that was the worst one, so i had the Surgery 7 weeks ago. I didn't have to get any physio done after the surgery, and the doc didn't say how long i had to stay out of work for, so after 4 weeks i returned to work. I work in a deli, so i'm constantly usin my hands, with lifting, chopping and lately, well since i returned i've felt like i'm putting strain on my wrist!! They second quetion isthat the doc told me i could ring up and make an appointment to have the left one done. But should i go ahead and get it done now, i've had no symptoms in my left, or should i wait until the pain gets bad nice-lad:::: yes, I feel the same way now, when i'm trying to lift the kettle or something like that i have to use both hands as its not strong enough. I used to always wake up at night with the pain before i had the op, it was very very painful, but since the op all symptoms have disappeared, so here's hoping i won't have any more trouble with it. On the subject of my left hand, i think i'll wait and see how it goes before i have the op, i mean i'll wait and see and if it does start to give me trouble i will go back for a consultation and have the op done. Thanks for answering everyone!!! [ Read More ]
