Is The Pain After The Newer Method Of
Carpal
Tunnel Release
Surgery Severe? Can I Still Care For A Newborn?I
was scheduled to have
Carpal
Tunnel Release
Surgery recently but was told the day of
Surgery that I was pregnant! It was highly
suggested I postpone the
Surgery until my second
trimester due to the possible effects of the pain meds on the
growing baby. I would prefer to have the
Surgery
when my maternity leave ends so I can stay home a bit longer with
my baby. It would be 12 weeks in total with maternity leave and the
Recovery time for the surgery. My doc makes it
seem like there will be little to no pain after the
Surgery and I should only need tylenol no. 2 for
about one day. He is urging me to have the
Surgery
during my second trimester. Has anyone out there had this
Surgery (the newer method where only a one inch
incision is made)? What was the pain like? How long did you need to
take pain medicine? Do you think I could care for a six week old
baby right after the surgery? I would have little help as my
husband will work during the day. The
Surgery will
be on my right hand. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
