Fetch from Registry

The new Fetch from Registry action was added into the Ribbon bar. This action allows you to extract boot actions from the Registry and add them into the application's grid, if they aren't represented there. Using this action you can keep application synchronized with boot actions changes performed by system and other applications.

UAC requirements support

The new version follows all Windows requirements regarding UAC support. Application doesn't require to be launched As Administrator since the beginning anymore. Instead, it requires administrative access only for Change License Info operation. When this operation is executed, Windows shows confirmation for switching to the administrative mode and application is restarted with administrative permissions. This approach is fully compatible with Windows 7 and Vista UAC requirements.

New icon set

Most of application icons were reworked or improved to use the same color palette and same style. New icon set is more compatible with different application skins now.

Auto-monitoring option

New Auto-monitoring option in application preferences allows automatic launching of host monitoring on application start up. If this option is turned on, then configured monitoring operation will be automatically started on application start up. It is useful, for example, if you need to make continuous host availability control by adding Ping Monitor to the system autostart, because Auto-monitoring option allows you to start host monitoring automatically.

Options update

Starting from this version you can change monitoring and notifications options without monitoring restart. New options are applied immediately after change even if monitoring is currently turned on.

Extended scan network options

Network scan settings available on the application Preferences dialog were extended and now provide an access to manual network scan performance tuning. Depending on number of computers in your network and available resources on your computer, you can configure from 1 up to 50 parallel scanning threads to reach an optimal workload and scanning time for your environment.

New option for administrative access assurance was added to scan settings. It allows checking an administrative access to remote computers during their scan. If it's turned on, after a scan you can find in the application log a list of computers where you don't have an administrative access to modify their OS registration information. Making this check you can ensure that you have enough rights to complete modification of OS registration information on all selected PCs before you actually start modification.

Task management area

This version introduces a new approach for executing tasks visualization. Now you can see all tasks executed at the current moment in the special Task Management area. By default it's displayed next to the Application Log tab, but as other areas, it's dockable and you can change its location, if required. Using this area you can not only preview executed tasks and their progress, but also can cancel every particular task and task groups. For example, you can cancel scanning of some PC or terminate scanning of the whole domain.

Computer entry in the Network Browser

If you need to check or modify registration information on the local computer you don't need to make a scan. A special Computer entry in the Network Tree represents the local computer and allows OS registration info modification by just one click.

Boot actions wizard

This release includes new Boot Actions Wizard, aimed to simplify boot actions configuration. Using this wizard you can configure all actions, supported by application and specify all required options. Wizard provides detailed explanation for all configuration parameters, so can help new users to schedule boot actions faster and easier.

New product name

Starting from this version, the product name was changed to EMCO Ping Monitor. The new name more accurately represents a current functionality of the application and a set of planned features.
