Get Away From The Hold Of A Social Phobia Using NLP &
Hypnosis by
Alan B. Densky, CH
Social phobia is a common anxiety disorder in which a person is
afraid of being in certain social settings. An individual with
social phobia experiences debilitating anxiety that impacts their
personal and daily life.
People with social phobia are extremely self-conscious and worried
about what others may say or think about them. They are often
afraid of speaking up, out of fear that they will be judged or
criticized. Those with social anxiety tend to be down on themselves
or have feelings of low self-worth. They are frequently worried
about being seen by others and find socializing to be very
terrifying.
Some people with social anxieties may seem "shy," but in the case
of a phobia, this is taken to irrational extremes. For instance, if
you have social phobia, you may be reluctant to make a crucial
phone call because you are anxious about talking on the phone. You
finally make the phone call, but you are so nervous that you "lock
up" or forget why you called. Although it happens to everyone
sometimes, for a person with social phobia it may happen every
single time, to the point where they find it impossible to make any
calls.
Perhaps it is the evening before a big presentation at work and you
find yourself unable to fall asleep. You dread the thought of being
in front of a room with your supervisor and all your colleagues
watching as you present a new idea or project. You can't stop
yourself from feeling extremely embarrassed and self-conscious.
Even after the meeting, you can't stop overanalyzing everything you
did and said. You worry that you embarrassed yourself in front of
your colleagues by stuttering or saying the wrong thing.
Maybe you want to go to parties and make friends, but you avoid
socializing because you are anxious about introducing yourself to
someone new. You find parties daunting and the thought of meeting
someone new frightens you. You worry about what you'll say, or that
you'll get laughed at. You might stay at home a lot because you are
too scared about going out. These are only a few examples of the
way social phobias can affect us.
Social phobias are overblown fears that can prevent you from
achieving your professional goals or fully enjoying life. But even
people who know their fears are irrational may not know how to
handle their fears. People with social anxiety disorder would love
to be more social and meet new people, but are just too afraid to
do so. Despite their conscious desires and best efforts, they
cannot control their phobia because all phobias are seated in the
unconscious mind. Ericksonian hypnosis therapy and Neuro-Linguistic
Programming (NLP) techniques are the most helpful phobia treatments
because they resolve issues at the unconscious level.
It can be difficult for sufferers of social anxiety to get help
because they can be too afraid to visit a counselor or talk about
their condition. This is why hypnotherapy programs are appropriate
for them. The programs promote a tranquil and confidence-boosting
frame of mind in a private setting, without being intimidating or
overwhelming.
The first part of a good phobia program is relaxation therapy.
Hypnosis is a powerful tool for relieving your stress and tension.
At the moment when you are completely relaxed, hypnotic techniques
will promote positive ideas in your unconscious mind and get rid of
your social phobia. NLP techniques will eliminate your fears by
specifically targeting the thought process that is responsible for
a phobia.
In traditional hypnotherapy, specifically worded post-hypnotic
suggestions are used to treat every different phobia. The problem
is, people often ignore being directly told what to do or think, so
traditional hypnotherapy is not always effective. A deep-seated
phobia requires the use of NLP and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.
Ericksonian hypnotherapy techniques work better than traditional
hypnotherapy because they utilize suggestions that are not apparent
to your conscious mind, versus direct suggestions. These
suggestions are placed in discussion, in various stories and
metaphors, to persuade your unconscious mind to follow a different
line of reasoning. This is why Ericksonian hypnotherapy is much
more successful than conventional hypnosis therapy and far harder
for the unconscious mind to reject.
A single program that has Ericksonian hypnotic therapy and NLP
techniques can treat any phobia, in any person. This is because
several techniques are used together to maximize their
effectiveness. People are often amazed at the apparently miraculous
changes they see through hypnotherapy. Ericksonian hypnotherapy and
NLP are ideal tools to help build your confidence and beat social
phobia so you will be able to enjoy life.
