Why
Do Some
Babies 'fight' Their
Sleep??My daughter was such a good sleeper. This little guy will
get very grumpy and
Fight it! The only thing that
helps a little bit is restraining him. I hold him tight while
swaddled... holding the soother in his mouth and pinning him down
against me. The less he can move, then he will edventually stop
struggling and surrener to sleep. He was like this since birth and
I discovered the 'pinning him against me' thing, as I was mimicing
the restricted womb for him. He is now 5 months old and fights it
less... but at nighttime he does this now. I am a very very deep
sleeper and I have SUCH a hard time thinking clearly. My thinking
is so muddled and he fights it... sometimes it seems like hours
before he goes back to sleep. When he eats and difts off again...
those nights are great! But often he still fights his
Sleep like when he was first born. And this is
killing me! lol.... HELP! Any tips? He is not colicy. He is
actually fairly happy... just fights sleeping by 'fight' his
Sleep I mean 'screaming' he will
Fight it/ scream for up to an hour sometimes

Why Does My Baby
Fight Sleep?He was born like
this. He is 4 and a half months old and still will
Fight it somtimes.. even in the middle of the
night while I hold him. When he was a week old, I discovered that
if I held him tight while he was swaddled, he would edventually
calm down and let himself sleep. Still though, I have to swaddle
him and pin him against me and than hold his soother in his mouth
with my chin. He thrashes around and he is getting big and it is
getting harder. If I don't
Do this, he will fall
asleep and wake up crying continually. If he is pinned down and
swaddled like in the womb when he had no room, than he will fall
into a nice deep sleep. He is a happy baby, so
Why
does he
Fight his sleep?

Why Won't My Baby
Sleep Without A Fight?Whenever
it is time for my baby to go to sleep, either at night or for a nap
during the day, she screams and fights to stay awake. I've tried
everything (swaddle, letting her cry it out, feeding, changing
diapers) but nothing seems to be working. Any clues?

Why
Do Babies
Fight Drowsiness, As If They're Afraid They'd Miss
Something When They Sleep?Just curious. Anyone has a psychological
or even evolutional explanation for this? (for example: baby cries
when mom leaves because he doesn't yet know that mom is permanently
there, etc)

Why Does My Baby
Fight His
Sleep
Worse When I Try To Soothe Him?He has fought his
Sleep since birth and now will
Sleep really good swaddled up with a soother on
his own during naps. At night I always
Sleep with
him. Around 4 months old, he started depedning on me for him to go
to
Sleep at night. The more I soothed him, the
harder he would fight. He would scream for hours while I soothed
him (he was clean, fed, warm, etc... just grumpy tired). I finally
let him cry it out. He is doing OK, but today I went for a nap with
him. He fought so hard not to
Sleep and screamed
and would not take his soother. Finally I put him in his play pen
and he fell alseep within seconds on his own. But the other night,
he was fighting it and and stuck out his tongue so I could not put
the soother in. I put him down on his own and he screamed for a
LONG time.
Why does he
Fight
Sleep when I try to comfort him? Also, I can't
swaddle him anymore cause he is so wiggly, so now he fights it
alone too!!!! I don't like leaving him to cry! Any ideas? it is
weird because during the day he is such a content, smilely baby!
