I'm looking for Questions such as : 1) Horse's showing experiance (including placement) 2) Prospective ability Please respond with qestions under the circumstances that all of the horses are: above 16 hh., are Jumper competitors and will continue on that career path, videos have been seen ---what should be noted while watching these???---, and the horses will be tried (out-of-state) once for one ride (unfortunate - I know), the buyers have extremely reliable connections in this state, AND that the buyer is NOT A first time owner and the prospects are jumping around 3'6' and have jumped over 4' each (one of the horses has jumped 5'). Questions To Ask About Horse I'm Buying.?I just recently moved and my trainer in GA found me A Horse down there. He's getting vetted on moday. I've never riden him before because I couldn't make it down there To look at him (I just saw A vid. online) but my trainer trained him so she knows just what he's like and I totally trust her. Now assuming he passes the vet check and I'm getting him I have lots of Questions about him here's my list... What type of feed is he on now? What type of turnout is he used to? Where does he normally stand in his pasture group (dominate or not)? Does he get rainrot or thrush easily? What is his blanket size? How often is he shod? When is he due To be shod? What kind of wormer is he on? I also will Ask for health records and stuff To know When he needs To get his immunizations and such. What Questions Should You Ask When Trying A Horse?I am pretty experienced and i am going with my student To try A horse. What Questions are typical To ask? I will be riding the Horse w/t/c, jumping him and seeing where he is on his lateral work. I will tack him up To get A feel for his ground manners and if my student likes him i will do A flex ion test. I have his lineage and i watched A video of him at A Horse show. What else should i do When i go with her To try him? What is A reasonable amount of time To take the Horse on trial and what is the standard practice for paying the board while the Horse is on trial (does the owner pay ore the potential buyer)? Is it rude To Ask To purchase his tack? I have bought 2 horses and both of them i rode twice and got A vet check then wrote the check for them and took them home.
