What Is USEF Policy If
A Horse
Kicks Another
Horse In The
Schooling Area? ?If
A
Horse kicks another
Horse at
A show (non-rated), is it considered ride at your
own risk? Anyone with
A knowledge of Usef rules,
can you direct me to the citation in the rule book? Who is liable,
if any? Horses are animals, if you invade their privacy they will
react. Less sensitive horses may pin their ears, others may kick
when you run up on them or head on. A red ribbon won't do much good
when the
Horse that was kicked came head on and
almost touched stirrup irons while moving.

How Should I Braid My
Horse In An Open Breed
Schooling Show When Showing English Pleasure?I
have
A QH cross and would like to braid him up at
the
Horse show coming up in June. It's
A large
Horse show so I want him
to stand out. He'll be in english classes including equitation and
pleasure. He has
A longer mane, maybe 12in at the
longest? It's not evenly that long the whole length of the neck
(unfortunatly). I'm not ready to cut it so was wondering what
braids would be acceptable.

Would This
Horse Make
A Good
Schooling Show
Hunter?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq6aA3hx6W4 I am leasing her
and I will train her over fences. Do you think she could make it
pretty well as
A Schooling show
hunter for kids? Yeah, this is my second time riding her and she
hasn't been ridden in over
A year and then she was
just
A trail horse. She doesn't bend and we have
tons of work to do, but I was just wondering. She doesn't jump yet,
but I am just doing pole work with her.

Any Ideas To Make Jump
Schooling Interesting? And
How Often Do You Think
A Horse
Should Be Jumped
A Week?I already grid work and
pole work but any other ideas to make jumping varied and
interesting for the pony. Also I was wondering how often you think
A Horse should be jumped
A week. I personally do competitions every other
weekend on
A well established pony so i usually
jump once
A week and on
A
competition week i only jump on the comp day because the pony knows
what it is doing!

Have You Ever Allowed Your
Horse To Be
A School Horse?I am going to college in the fall
and i have 4 horses, and i wont have enough time to exercise them
and everything. I dont want to put all the reponsibility on my
younger sister, so do you think putting the horses as school horses
at the stables in which they board is
A good idea?
It is
A very good riding school which cares for
thier horses well...but would you still trust them?

Horse Shows In Oregon?Am starting
to look for
Schooling Horse shows
in Oregon as
A way to market
A
4-H type quarter
Horse for sale. He'd been ridden
mostly western prior to me working with him, but I've been working
on basic dressage and
A bit of jumping with him,
which he really enjoys. He's cute and comfortable, but not fancy
enough to warrant recognized showing as
A means of
advertisement, though I do believe he will likely be competitive at
the local level. Does anyone have suggestions of some small
Horse shows that would be good, laid back showing
experiences for him? Thanks Ron Sr. for your honest opinion. That
is what I was trying to say but failed at in my original question.
I think he could really shine in the english pleasure arena (as
opposed to the more 'sport horse' style competitions as I have more
experience with) but as I have not shown in those divisions before,
I am unsure what venues would provide an appropriate place to
begin.

Getting
A Schooling
Horse To Work From Behind?I am leasing
A very lovely, sound, gelding from the stable I
ride at. He's about 11 years old, and was used as
A Schooling
Horse at what I like to call
A
'lesson factory' for
A number of years before
coming to the barn I ride at. He was ridden 5 days
A week by children of all sorts of disciplines
from beginner to advanced, and therefore he is just all over the
place with his training. He is, of course, very lazy and does not
like to get moving forward at all, but after working with him on
that for
A while he is doing
A
fine job. My question is-what are some exercises I can do with him
to get him working from behind? He is only ridden by one other girl
in
A lesson once
A week, and I'm
the only one riding him 4 other days out of the week. Any
suggestions will be greatly appreciated Also-I've been trying to
work with him on getting him to 'soften' his body around my leg
aids. And he is doing well with that-bending around my leg and what
have you. Just thought I would toss that in there as well.

What Does
A Rider With
Schooling
Mean To You?I have been applying and riding at various places
around school (college) I have
A vast background
in horses ranging from 8 years of schooling, to 4 years in therapy
riding work and freelance stuff. I was curious what having someone
with
A background in
A
Horse Schooling environment (ie
lessons) vs, someone that just rode to ride. I am curious because
some of the
Horse people that I meet (who are
mighty good) have had no formal training at all. And no, the
Schooling horses I used were not on auto, though
maybe when I started, but not in the end of things.

Can I School My
Horse On An Uneven Surface?I am
currently keeping my
Horse on
A
small yard that I rent myself - the problem for me is that it has
no school. I would love to keep my
Schooling up to
scratch so that my
Horse is balanced, which will
help me when I come to competing (show jumping) and the only place
that is available to school in is one of the grazing fields.
However this field is uneven with several hills and dips. Is this
suitable for
Schooling or is it likely to cause
injury to either me or my
Horse when
Schooling on this?
