Training Yearling Colt To Trailer Load?I want to train my 1 yr old Colt to trailer load. He's fine when he's 10 feet away from the trailer but when i ask him to come close to it he gets nervous and scared. He will only will get close enough to smell it (about 2 feet away), no closer. He has never been in the trailer, even as A foal. How can i get him to be comfortable around the trailer? How can i get him to load without panicking and just to being calm and relaxed? How Do I Go About Training My Just Born Colt?Hi, I just got A new mare quarter horse about 2 weeks ago, and she just foaled yesterday to A little colt. However I've had horses pretty much my whole life but never anything untrained. Therefore, where can I get some info on how to train him, when to start, and just the basics and some tips. I spend time with him constantly, and feel him up and down even his legs so he gets to know touch, i call his name and everything else. But what else do I do? should I get A halter and teach him to lead and put on halters already? and I'd like to know when on all the firsts aka vet checks,farrier,dewarmer all that stuff. Colt Training Question????Alright so there is A Colt at my barn he is like 3 or 4 montsh i believe I cant realy remember. But the owner is hardly out and hasnt worked with him at all so me and my friend are kinda angry becuase if no one works with this foal he is going to be A handfull later on. New Colt Training?Just for fun and to see what everyone who trains does with their babies...I have an 11 month old Arab colt, he leads and ties beautifully. Army Basic Training Address. Colt Company?My boyfriend is away at basic Training in Fort Benning, GA. I got A letter with A address that included Colt Company. His mother has the same address. Please Help Me With Lead Training My Colt Foal - He Is Not Keen On It At All! Help!?Hello. Ok as some of may you know, I have this 6 month old Colt who was unhandled until we got him. After A few scared weeks, he has come to love us and depend upon me (mostly) and my children. He now whinnies when he sees or hears us which is great and he loves cuddles and attention. Anyway, I have started lead Training him which he is not keen on at all and I need your help! I have managed to get him to walk by my side with A bum rope and halter rope, but the problem is he goes into 'I hate this' mode and has his ears pinned right back and mouth ready to bite. His whole attitude is 'I dont like this!' So what I have been doing is leading A little way with voice queue, then whoa, and then give huge cuddles to make the whole thing positive. I have been doing this for the past fortnight or so around 3 times A day, but he still seems to hate the whole thing. :-( Any advice would be great, thanks. x I realise this will take longer than normal cos he was unhandled before we got him. I just need A few ideas. The other problem is he is not gelded yet . OMG i hear you say, but I cannot have him cut yet because I live in Turkey and the heat is extreme at the moment, so I know this could be A factor to his attitude. But its either try to train him now or wait 5 months with no training. I would love any experienced peoples ideas.
