Can Calcium Carbide Be
Used As An Automobile
Fuel?During WWII, the
Japanese forced British
prisoners of war to stoke 'carbide furnaces.' Carbide furnaces are
huge, electrified furnaces that combine limestone and anthracite
coal to produce calcium carbide (utilizing a process invented
during the turn of the 20th century) The POWs were told that the
calcium carbide was being
Used to fuel
Japanese vehicles, but I think it is just as
likely it was being
Used to create 'sulfur
mustard' (a chemical weapon agent (also called 'mustard'
Used by the
Japanese against the
Chinese during the war). Calcium carbide is the 'precursor' of
sulfur mustard. Is it more likely the calcium carbide was being
Used as a fuel, or to produce chemical weapons?

A Few Questions About
Japanese Rule In
Palau?Firstly, I don't know that much about Palau, except for the
fact it's a soverign island nation with it's own unique culture and
heritage. For a long time, it was subject to
Japanese rule, and I understand the
Japanese during their rule did a lot for the
Palauan and development of the nation. My question is, how have the
Japanese left their mark on Palau? If one visits
Palau, is there any evidence of
Japanese rule to
be clearly seen, such as architechture, vehicles, etc? Also, how
commonly
Used is
Japanese in
Palau as a second language, do many people speak it? Also, are the
people, especially the older people influenced by
Japanese culture in anyway? Japan is a country
with a rigiorous social structure and formailities and this is
clear in the
Japanese language where the sentence
can be very different depending on level of formality. Is there any
evidence of this in Palau? Also, in modern day Palau, how are
diplomatic relations with Japan, and also what view do normal
Palauan citizens hold of the Japanese? For example, a lot of the
ex-British colonies know quite a lot about the UK, and it's whole
system. Do Palauans know much about Japan, is it a place they
like/would like to visit, in general? Thanks for any insight.

Why Are We In America Manufacturing
Vehicles Of
Other Countries?The U.S.A.,
Used to be the leading
manufacturer of the best cars in the world. Why are the
Japanese taking over that role and the people
seemingly preferring the proliferation here in our own country? Is
our government aware of that?

Why Do Most People Think
Japanese Were Better
Fighters In WW2 Than Germans?Alot of Americans think that
Japanese are better than Germans in WW2 just
because they would rather commit suicide or die fighting than
surrender. But the facts I found state that
Japanese were very ineffective in battles compared
to Germans! For example, strategy.Japanese officers would recklessly
waste their troops and equipment. They would command
Japanese soldiers to charge at machine gun
entrenchment(and a lot of
Japanese troops were
wasted this way).Germans on the other hand relied on cautious
tactics such as flanking and ambushing. From what I read,German
tactics were more effective overall!Secondly, casualties. From what I
read the most Americans lost fighting the
Japanese
were very low(from what I read,50,000 at most)In fact,a historian
stated that ''For Every American killed at least 10
Japanese were killed''!Now for the Germans.Even
though America only began focusing on the German front 1944(a year
before the war ended)the losses against them were much heavier than
the overall losses against the Japanese! At most,Americans lost
about 300,000 or 400,000(depending on your source) fighting the
Germans! And its important to keep in mind that Germany has already
exhausted most of her troop, money, resources, and equipment fighting
the Russians by the time Americans joined! Not to mention the
strategies
Japanese commanders did were EXTREMELY
STUPID!Japanese generals stubbornly told their troops to defend
strategically useless land,and that
Japanese
generals stubbornly refused to adapt their tactics and
strategies(see British invasion of Korea)!German generals usually
did their best to adapt to the situation and did the best
strategies they were able too! Additionally the Germans had far
better weaponry and mechanized
Vehicles than the
Japanese!Also German soldiers
Used tactics
carefully! So how come most Americans ridiculously overrate the
fighting skills of the
Japanese and think the
Japanese fought better than Germans?
Additionally,whe n the
Japanese fought Americans
in the Pacific,Americans were not equipped with the best weaponry
they had.Yet they easily crushed the Japanese! In Europe, the
Americans were using the best weaponry and mechanized
Vehicles they had but still suffere numerous
casualties and lost numreous tanks and mechanized
Vehicles despite using the best weaponry they had!
Remember,when the
Japanese fought the
Americans,the
Japanese still had their military at
maximum numbers and capabilities. When American fought the
Germans, the Germans were already getting invaded by USSR and didn't
have the same strength an numbers they had at the start of the
war!Despite Germany being heavily weakened,America still lost os
much troops in Europe! @ LCPL USMC Swing with the Wing-Although the
Japanese were ffiercer fighter, that doesn't make
them better fighters!Compared to German effectivenes, the
Japanese ability to wage war was pathetic!

Why Should We Bail-out The Auto Industry? Most Americans Drive
Japanese Cars For Their Reliability / Quality ?We
bailed out Chrysler 20 years ago; should we use taxpayers dollars
to do this again? GM and Ford can not produce
Vehicles to meet global requirements. They are not
gas efficient and reliable. I will buy American and I am willing to
pay a price premium if the quality is there.

Why Don't Americans Support Their Country And Buy American
Vehicles?We know that American
Vehicles are now as
good as the
Japanese cars, and better than most
European cars. We also know that Volkswagen supported the Germans
during World War II, and that Honda and Toyota supported the
Japanese after the Pearl Harbor attacks. The
American auto companies took a risk to help our country and convert
their factories, knowing there was no guarantee that they'd be paid
back after they bailed out the country. American cars tend to have
more style than their Asian counterparts, and American
Vehicles use twice as much domestic parts and
labor, plus they build more of their
Vehicles
here. They cost the same, and frequently less for small cars, and
help the economy so much more. It was the American autoworker that
fought for better working conditions and health care. Why then do
Americans put all of this aside and buy foreign cars?

Which Of The Following Would Be The Best
Used Car
To Buy?Chevy Impala, Buick Regal or Century, Pontiac Grand Prix or
Bonneville or a VW Passat? Most of the models of these cars that I
would want would be late 90's or early 2000 models. My price range
is between $4500-$7500 so I am kind of limited in what I can
afford, but have managed to find some of these in my price range
and in decent condition. Right now I am really leaning towards the
Impala, but those have been somewhat hard to find in my area for a
decent price. Can any owners of these cars give me some insight?
What car would be the best value and last the longest? I have a
family so i need a sedan with lots of room and one that would be
inexpensive to maintain. Please DO NOT recommend a
Japanese vehicle such as Toyota or Honda - I do
NOT go for those anymore, i've owned Honda's Toyota's and know
better. Yes, they will run forever, but they WILL run like CRAP
forever also. THANKS!
