Classic Or Acoustic Guitar?hey everyone so i just took my first Guitar lesson yesterday, and i have a problem. i only have a Classic Guitar so i asked the person in charge if there was anything different from acoustic and Classic (because the songs i like to learn are acoustic), and she said no. but i think that there is. my teacher let me play the Guitar with it resting on my left thigh. acoustic guitarists play with it resting on the right thigh. i also used nylon strings, not steel. is it easier for me to ask my teacher to teach me acoustic instead of classic, or can i go from Classic to acoustic? oh, and will i also learn how to pluck strings for acoustic beginner's lessons? please reply asap my future hobby is on the line! thanks a bunch! : ) [ Read More ]

Trying To Find Classic Guitar Books By Author Richard Pick?Richard S.B. Pick, American concert guitarist and instructor wrote many books of Classic Guitar instruction and compositions before his death a few years ago. Sadly, all of his remarkable books are now out of print. Before his death, he tried unsuccessfully to obtain extra copies of a few titles for me but, not surprisingly, none of his former students would relinquish any coveted copies. I have his original book of instruction, entitled 'First Lessons for Classic Guitar', published in Chicago in 1959 by Forster Music Publishers but they do not have any archived copies to sell. I am specifically looking for his book entitled 'First Repertoire for Classic Guitar' if anyone has access to a copy. If so, please write and I will be happy to make financial compensation for a copy.....thanks. Cliff E.
