I injured a Toe Nail (bent it back over the toe, ripping the majority of it off it's bed) and then after several months developed a white fungus which later spread to other nails. My Son's Big-toe Nail Is Growing Weird...?My son, who is now 9 months old, was born with weird big-toe nails. On both feet, his big-toe nails seem to grow straight and then UP, kind of like an L shape or bracket. The part of the Nail that grows up is very wavy. When he was a couple weeks old, I asked his doctor about it and she said to put a warm, wet washcloth on his toes to soften the Nail and encourage it to grow the right way. I did this for about three months every night and nothing changed. It doesn't cause problems for him, except the occasional little infected or red areas he gets from it pushing into his skin, but I'm worried about once he grows older if it will become a problem. I worry that they will become severely ingrown or if nothing else, cause some embarrassment for him? I'm not really asking for a 'cure' just an explanation. Toe Nail Fungus...?Okay, This is a very serious question I'm about to ask so please don't be childish and silly. This is actually very common. My husband has Toe Nail fungus. He will cut them off very short and let them grow back out but the Nail fungus always comes back. We've used fungi- cure lisgerine and now I've been putting white vinagar on them. He also took lamisil perscribed by the doctor which was very expensive because we have no health insurance but it didn't work. Has anyone gone through this? He doesn't wear steal toed boots and never has. Do you think the vinigar will work? Since I put it on there is looks a lot healthier. Any other ideas? I doesn't hurt him at all.
