Core Strength Training?Hi Everyone, I need to find some Core strength Training Exercises on line (Yes going to the gym is an option just not now). I have found some that seem a little too difficult to start with (Pain factor). I have recently started to recover from a back injury. I can not lift a lot of weight, maybe 5lbs. with my right side of my body, if I do something that is more intense like, sneeze, shovel the snow, cough, my rib pops out and I am back at the chiropractors. So Really I need some Core strength Training Exercises and back Exercises for strength and please keep in mind I also have arthritis in my upper back between my shoulder blades. thanks Here is where I have been so far that seem like they may work. Muscle Fatigue Due To Core Training?I'm a cross country runner in 10th grade and am currently clinging to the back of our varsity team, I've made tremendous improvements over the year, and have shattered times down by about 30 seconds each race. For a 5k, my times have been: 23:55(slow course), 19:55, 19:32, 18:51, 18:26, and recently 18:16. At the beginning of the season top 14 on the team would have been a great goal, now I'm between 5th and 7th, and would like to stay on the varsity team through the state championship. The way I'm getting this improvement is TONS of Core Training outside of practice, but I'm afraid that as we near the end of the season, and we're starting to peak in training, that maybe continuing this Core Training could really fatigue my muscles. I do about 100 push-ups(5 sets of 20 in between Core exercises), 80-100 crunches, 2+ minutes of plank(2 sets), 20 lunges forward(both legs), 20 lunges backward(both legs). Usually before a big meet I'll not do Core for 2 days beforehand or really lay off a few days before. I'm wondering if I keep this up, could this really tire out my muscles to the point where recovery isn't possible without taking a week off? I'm always careful to watch for injuries...but we now have 10 days until the race that decides our state team, and I'm determined to stay ahead, but I really am not interested in ruining the rest of my season trying to.
