Before the popularity of content management systems (CMS) around the globe like Wordpress, Joomla and others, there were a static page composed websites on the net. They were updated through the use of offline web design tools. However, because of the demand in the field of providing information on the web, the change made the creation of CMS. Now, what is the advantage if you will use CMS like the Wordpress. Here are some of the points that I find important for you to understand:
- Beneficial for constantly changing websites, when it comes to content and design, because of its ease in updating the content and features of the site.
- It can be enhanced easily without changing the core of the whole system through the use of plug-ins and widgets that can be added easily.
- Content are on the database and its so convenient for you to transfer the data whenever you wish it.
- Updating the site is so easy even for those who don’t know HTML and CSS coding or web programming.
These are just some of the advantages of CMS and this is some of the reasons why I implement it on this oes tsetnoc blog. How about you, would you prefer static or dynamic websites produced by CMS?

Actually nothing much really! This is the reason why my oes tsetnoc blog doesn’t move in Google rankings at all. It simply because I am so busy to made any changes and can’t provide time to keep up with the processes that the task requires. However, what I just did with the whole site this week is that I change the target location of the site in Google Webmaster into country: United States. It is just a little experiment if what will be its effect on the overall ranking of the website. But just a minute ago when I checked the ranking on the site, it drops to position number 20.
I know that I can’t win to keyword rich domains like this but I still try to conquest them for some reasons such as self satisfaction and experimentation. I am doing things in a slowest and following the guidelines provided by the search engines. If it does work that way then let it be, I don’t want to “cross the line”, ever.

Recently, right before Manny Pacquiao’s fight in US (as I blogged about it last time here), Wordpress made a minor update on their blogging platform. They’ve released WP 2.8.6 to deal with the exploits that can be made in multi-poster or multi-author setup of blogs. Actually it is not applicable in my oes tsetnoc blog but I still updated my sites. That is right! It is “sites” because I am maintaining several Wordpress blogs and need to upgrade them through the use of the auto-updater of WP.
Now, when I implement this, several plug-ins also released changes to adapt to this new version. So I also updated them. Some of the plug-ins that calls for an upgrade are the following:
- All In One SEO
- Google Sitemap
- Word Wit
- Wordpress Exploit Scanner
How about you guys, did you comply with this? Hope you did because its better to be ready than to be sorry and upgrading your site whenever there is an available one is one great prevention for problems later.

Watch Pacquiao vs. Cotto Live for Free
Guys of oes tsetnoc, if you are reading this post then your lucky because you will find ways here on how to watch the upcoming super firepower fight of Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto this coming Saturday, Nov. 13 (i.e. US PT but it is will be Sunday here in the Philippines). Almost all tickets around the country for watch Pacquiao vs. Cotto live coverage were almost sold out. From theaters to the big dome in Araneta to the different cafe and bars of metro. Others on the other hand who can’t afford to watch this on the said locations where provided by the government of the country a free way to watch it in big screen thru showing in different sports gym of municipalities and cities of the country. Incumbent officials will surely benefit from this publicity, election is coming and this is just timing.
This is how others will watch the fight for free or paid. In my case, I can’t go out of home during this day so the only way I could watch it is through the internet. I am lucky that my PLDT DSL application was approved recently and they have released a new portal where I could watch the Pacquiao vs. Cotto match for free without commercial break. The said portal is the PLDT Watchpad which is a service that is exclusive for PLDT DSL subscribers only.
Now for those who are searching for other ways to watch the fight, here’s other option:
- Via SOPCast. You need to download a 3rd party software to do this and search for sports channels that will provide the streaming which I might share if I found one. If not then just Google it, you will definitely find one.
- Visit PinoyGigs.com. I think they provide the latest updates of the fight and will probably provide information or even free online streaming of the Pacquiao-Cotto match.
- Go to Telepisodes.com. Usually this site provide big sports events like this. Sometimes live and sometimes in replay mode. Just go there and sometimes readers of the site share links too.
- Try Online Streaming hosting sites like Ustream.tv and Justin.tv – these are the usual places where boxing fans go to watch different fights they’ve missed or want to watch live.

Chess and Life
Do you know how I relax and take things easy during weekends? Aside from watching TV Series, shows and movies online and on my favorite big TV, I usually play chess in the public plaza of Roxas City. However, due to busy schedules which made me to work even on Sunday, this “self-tradition” of mine was removed on my weekly routine. This makes me feel something a little bit strange. I felt so tired always and thinking empty in some point of my work. Maybe this is the result of no weekly brain exercises. This is the reason why I decided to play on tournament this weekend despite the fact that I haven’t practicing for quite sometime now.
It is not the winning that matters in playing chess that I wish to play but the thrill, excitement and enjoyment of playing once more with my peers. Actually SEO or search engine optimization is like the board game chess, it is composed of several phases which websites should undergo. Its like a blog that is composed of several stories. An oes tsetnoc contest that is composed of players (SEO experts, specialists, practitioners and scientists) that competes and want to reach a common goal and that is to win over their opponents. I believe that chess is a reflection of the real life and that’s the reason why I can’t remove it on my system even if I have tried it so hard to forget about it.

Finally got my website transferred to BlueHost and made necessary changes so that all the data on my previous hosting are transferred. I dropped of the previous folders/blog on folders to be specific, that I maintained because it will be quite difficult for me to transfer and give up all the contents their. Its really such a waste but I just can’t manage to transfer it because of lack of time. I just maintained the home page blog and this oes tsetnoc blog making them like one by using the same theme for both.
Now, I am very positive that if in case the traffic jumps again here on this oes tsetnoc blog or my home page posts, my hosting will be able to face it with the use of what they are boasting CPU overload “manager” which will control CPU overload. Right now, I don’t find any problem yet on the new host and I just keep on guard on what might occur when the time of the traffic comes.

After a month of non-consistent update and trying hard to write unique contents for this oes tsetnoc blog, at least the site gain a page importance (Google PageRank) of 2 out of 10. Just recently they pushed a new PR on their toolbar and found out that this site is PR2. I know that usually in competitions that I am joining and really doing something, I usually gain PR3 but right now since the link / authority building process that I applied on the site is not that much, it only gain what it deserves. Right now my ranking just dropped at page 2 of the official data center for the said competition and I am expecting a worst scenario here that possibly it will drop more each day as a lot of participants are starting to move their fingers and aggressively making their “thing” to fight against the current top rank keyword rich domains who where consistently on the top for quite sometime.
This is what so difficult with this event, you will encounter a keyword rich domain, a .com, .org, .info or the plural form of the domain. Aside from that the holders of these domains are so into the competition that they really consistent in updating their site which makes their site seems legitimate. Maybe it is or maybe after this competition they will just 301 (permanent redirection) their sites to a domain that they will really use in the end. Whatever their purpose will be, it doesn’t matter anymore with me. What matters to me right now is the discoveries and things that I will learn from what they’re doing. I’ve been checking on their works and really find a lot of things.

I have mentioned already a while ago regarding Halloween and oes tsetnoc participants celebrating it. Now, a search engine, specifically Bing, seems to be on Halloween mood too plus influence or inspired by vampire theme movies and TV series like the New Moon, Vampire Diaries, True Blood and the other like same stories. Halloween/All Soul's Day
Its the 31st of October and this is the usual date for a lot of people to celebrate the Halloween. Some are also celebrating with their gaining of PR (pagerank) on the recent PR update of Google. Here in our place, people are usually going to the cemetery, not to party nor bring their costumes to ask for candies nor saying “trick or treat,” instead they remember their dead families to give honor and prayers to the souls of the dead loved ones. I guess some of the oes tsetnoc participants from other countries have a different way or tradition on the midnight or the morning of the 31st.
Me, I am happy that the November will come not only because its the month of my birthday nor the Pacquiao vs. Cotto boxing event will happen but because it is the month before Christmas and when I hear Christmas, its bonus and lots of eating for everyone. This is the time, I think that almost everyone in the world are celebrating. However, this is a month long to wait and Halloween or All Soul’s Day in our place, is the current occassion and will just stick on this.

Today, I made some comparison on the 3 big search engines in this era namely Google, Yahoo! and Bing, on a search key phrase “oes tsetnoc” and found out that my site is ranking well on Yahoo! It actually falls on the 2nd rank for Yahoo search result page (US). But on the other two search engines, they seem to agree that my site is best on page two rather than considering it to be ranked on page 1. This only shows that the current site’s authority and popularity is much more effective on the latter rather than the other two. It also proven the idea that each SEs have search algorithm differences.

Well, I really need more convincing and hindrances such as being busy and on the low priority lists plus not being keyword rich domain made this very difficult for the site to do the naturally ranking increase. Let see what happens next on the couple of weeks. Things might change in the long run.
